Published 2 days ago Terrible service from Saga Home Insurance and Saga Home Emergency I'm with Saga Home Insurance and Home Emergency & recently I had a terrible experience with Saga Home Emergency call out from Ron Law Heating of Southport. I was for two weeks without heating or hot water in spite of paying £24 to get the parts needed overnight. The first lots of parts took 4-5 days to be fitted and then Ron Law needed another part which took another 10 days to fit. Saga informed me that Ron Law heating was wrong to ask for payment of £24 and that Ron Law should have charged Saga for overnight delivery of parts. After 15 calls to Saga, Ron Law, Axa and other different companies I was put through whilst on the phone with over 10 hours of one company blaming the other & putting me through over the phone to another company that I've never heard of, and then referring me back to the original speaker after one hour. I asked Ron Law and Saga to refund me £24 (which they agree I should be refunded) but both keep fobbing me off with excuses of "somebody will ring you", we're escalating this to full complaint", "please wait while I'll speak to the Dept. concerned" and the call is cut off or I'm passed to another company, who in turn ask why am I ringing them? What is surprising is that Saga Customer Care do not think there's anything wrong with this approach?

Telephoned for a quote for contents insurance after receiving a mailshot and put under pressure to purchase immediately as it was a 'live system'. Still awaiting the quote via email. I had a feeling it would not be followed up so emailed via website. 24 hours later still waiting, perhaps I should stay with John Lewis instead at least they do what they say they will and very well indeed.

Insured for years with Saga 14 yrs no claim bonus and my Wife 20 yrs no claim bonus never making a claim but I recently had a hit and run and my car has been written off and now my car and documents have been taken to salvagers, by the insurers who never gave me a courtesy Car and Its now been 2 months and still not been paid the promised payment and ongoing enquiries continue. All for a mega two thousand pound payout and Putting my insurance up to over double. So No!! I won't be recommending Saga to anyone!

No paper documents, long waiting times on calls (25 mins!). When trying to transfer policy to new smaller lower group car tried to charge me more when the quote was £70 cheaper. Bunch of conning charlatans taking advantage of the elderly. Do not use.

My husband and I took out car insurance policies with Saga last month and have had nothing but trouble with them ever since. They seem incapable of correctly setting up the most simple of policy, and take no accountability for their incompetence. STEER CLEAR OF THEM!

Took out house insurance through Quidco expecting £95 cash back. Surprise surprise the transaction hasn’t tracked. Wish I’d read these reviews before. Stay away from SAGA they are a con. STAY AWAY RUN AWAY. SAGA ARE A CON TRICK.

Not had.... going through it now!! You pass people from pillar to post all the time Since March we have leaking pipes under our floor noone can find the leak... We have been told its multiple leaks by 4 reports ...but you still havent done anything properly The pipes have to be exposed....floors need to come up We are open planned down stairs And have floating floors...timber frame house....so the water could be seeping up the walls.. Cunningham and Lindsey we are dealing with ....from Scotland to Birmingham all useless e.mails sent in the last 3 days not been replied Oriel R.Benson.....sent a contractor in...without a Plumber to turn off water.....builder drained our boiler but never turned the timer off in airing cupboard off...so water pump has been burnt out we had to pay Oriel R.Benson upfront of £300.00....before they stepped into our house then only to find out instead of taking floors up builder was told just to take laminate up..... you are a shambles.... Saga sells up and its name which you find is Co.op and Axa when you phone... its not Saga at all.... we are now waiting a week for another Report from Sergon to find out further reports I have photos phone calls but what we want is Action NOT SHODDY WORKMANSHIP so far.... Get your act together.....and do something!!!! Or we will take this further....

I have a fairly new BMW. I hit a pot hole which damaged the steering rack. Obviously I wanted the car to be repaired by BMW. Saga agreed to this but said I had now forfeited the right to a hire car and demanded that BMW send an estimate, pictures of the damage and pictures of the car etc etc. BMW, efficient as always, collected the car at 4pm and by 9am the next morning had identified the repair needed, sent the documentation to Saga and has said they can repair the car today! I have been told by Ash at Saga that authorisation for the repair will now take 24-48 hours which takes us into the weekend and of course the following week. I will now have to hire a car. Not impressed.

Would given stars if Could I have just received an email saying my insurance will be up soon and that I didn't need to do anything would be automatically renewed, thought this strange as had cancelled last year and went with other firm much cheaper. called right away today and they have canceled the renewal for this year but they had taken full premium out of my bank for last year. The say they have a recording of the conversation that I called to cancel but seemingly I said I would think about new reduced offer so they have taken that as they can just go ahead. I thought the companies spoke to one another asked about past claims etc if I would have had a reason to claim I wouldn't even have known I had been insured with them andI didn't even think that you could have two insurers they always put the responsibility on the buyer. What they have actually done is steel nearly two hundred pounds from a 74 year old.

If I could have given SAGA no stars that would have been a more accurate representation of my experience. ON NO ACCOUNT USE THIS COMPANY. After having our house and contents insured with Saga for a number of years we had the misfortune of having to claim for a nearly new TV resulting from two parts of the stand separating. On contacting the number on the policy details for claims, which turned out not to be SAGA at all (they only leverage the Saga name to sell policies), we were told we were not covered for electrical or sound system items at all, despite our policy saying otherwise. Their claims are handled by a company called RSA which are the biggest bunch of shysters on the planet. On phoning Saga to ask them to sort out this misinformation regarding our policy Saga agreed we were covered and eventually RSA agreed they had liability. You would think that would be the end of the matter but far from it. RSA then falsely reduced the payout by claiming they could replace the TV cheaper by claiming it was available from John Lewis cheaper than the replacement we had purchased. Unfortunately for them my company has contracts with John Lewis and they confirmed that was rubbish. These people are dishonest shysters, pure and simple. Given that Saga are known for selling to older people, who may well not have challenged them or felt intimidated into accepting what they were told, it is disgraceful behavior. DON'T GO ANYWHERE NEAR THEM.

Couldn't believe what saga charges. Got a policy from another well known, widely advertised insurer for £349. cheaper than the saga quote. Only change was contents £50.000 instead of £75.000 and £100 more excess.

I would rate Saga -5 stars if I could..they are complete rip off merchants.. We had been with them a while and then changed our car..the new car being 11 years old and a Ford Focus Estate. Nice car but not exactly a petrol head's dream. The quote I got was nearly 3x more even though I have 12 years NCD. They blamed the underwriter..bs. I then shopped around and got insurance from another company for less than half the price they quoted. I therefore cancelled my policy with Saga. They now hit me with a bill for close to £84 for cancelling.. administration costs. Again bs DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

Do not use this insurer! Involved in a road traffic accident on 23rd April. No correspondence from them and now 23rd May. Car has sat in garage since 27th May and estimate only approved on 21st May as there was a computer glitch! I have personal injury cover and sent them doctor's assessment (cost me £21) stating I have whiplash for which they won't reimburse me as they said they are admitting liability on my behalf - I do not accept that I was responsible for the accident!

Unfortunately could only give 1-star as there is no provision for ZERO! The most stressful time of my life dealing with a claim through these useless people, SAGA has made a SAGA of our lives throughout this claim, 2- years plus since our claim for storm damage that wrecked our home and we are still dealing with the total fiasco that Saga and their nominated insurer and claims management co- Direct Group has created, it is now lodged with the Ombudsman but still they keep sending me 'surprise' insurance invitations with a made up defaqto or should it be DEFECTO rating!! Would not recommend Saga to anyone, the worst experience in my life, they should be brought to book for miss selling, avoid at all costs.
