“I had a renewal quote of £166. Could not access this quote online over the weekend. Called first thing Monday morning to explain. Had to start a fesh quote. Within the space of growing older by 8 hours my premium had jettisoned to a masdive £280. If that is a way to reward loyalty, you can keep it and keep your business. NO THANKYOU!!”

We are currently stuck in thailand due to war in iran due to fly back through dubai but our flight was canceled we have no flights home no accommodation , phoned saga who we booked our holiday insurance through basically told us tough we dont cover war , and should have read policy wording, it didn't really cross my mind war might break out while I was away, paid four hundred pounds, i also had burst ear drum while I was away and wouldn't help with that either i paid gor treatment myself as it was less than there excess, I always thought saga was a quality company, they are nothing but thieves this company is an ABSOLUTE JOKE and do not care about people , avoid at all costs”
“Very poor experience with SAGA. My Dad obtained an insurance quote online which states that it will expire in 7 days. He goes back online to the dashboard to take the insurance 5 days later and it has increased in price by over £300 even though the quote had not expired. Called them they say it is down to timing. Not a greater risk just they can make more money from you by giving you a quote and waiting until you take it out before increasing it.
85 year old and he has to deal with this. SAGA Praying on vulnerable older people”
“Trying to sort out a policy following a bereavement - wait for up to an hour to speak to someone then they tell you they are not equipped with skills to deal with you. 10 days later I am trying to sort this out. This was through their so called bereavement line. Absolutely shocking when people are already going through the grief of losing a loved one. Apalling.”

ive had a policy with Saga for 1 year. expires this August 2025.
I wanted to make sure the policy isnt automatically renewed, so i checked my portal on their website, there is no way to cancel on the website.
i called Saga customer service today, and they said ' they cannot cancel the policy over the phone. Please call back when your policy ends'
i was also told via a customer service agent that i could ' cancel the policy via web chat'
i just tried this and they said no! i cant cancel on the webchat.
For this reason i cannot recommend Saga.

“Been with Saga for many years but then with no claims or likely claims coming up they over doubled the home insurance. Looks like they are purposefully are trying to take advantage of older people who don’t check and just pay the renewal. Else where found the same cover for half the cost of last years premium. They don’t look after loyal customers and very off the mark on price. Very bad value and treatment of existing customers. Avoid”
“Taken Saga insurance for many years, and thought them great. However, for the first time I claimed on my home insurance for storm damage!. Despite the obvious damage Saga wouldn't pay out!! The reason? Their surveyor refused to look in the loft (no safety equipment) and had no way of reaching the roof (no ladders, nothing). Hence found nothing amiss to cause the damage and insurance wouldn't pay out - yeah, I couldn't believe it either. I though SAGA were different and trustworthy - but really, they acted just like the comic book version of standard insurers. Will just have to write it off and take the lesson.”

“My car insurance renewal with SAGA this year has increased from £208 to £752 an increase of 360% by my reckoning, "DISGRACEFUL"
I am 74 years of age and was naively under the impression that SAGA was set up to provide insurance for the older customer, not anymore, it appears that now they just want to rip you off.
In addition I had to phone them 10 days before the renewal date to get my renewal price as they had failed to notify me.
Needless to say I have taken my custom elsewhere and now have the same level of cover for £250 "result"
Well done SAGA for losing a long standing and loyal customer.

“Wanted to insure my father's property after he passed away, as it was left empty while the sale went through. I spoke to a lady who hadn't got a clue what to do. Nobody got back in touch. I spoke with the same person a few weeks later and she still hadn't got a clue. She said she needed to put me on hold while she spoke to somebody else. I held on for nearly 2 hours and then ended the call!! They clearly didn't want my £800 but another company quickly and easily insured the empty property for a lot less money. Do not waste your time.”

£2160 !!!!! How on earth can they try increase 10x with no claims no changes.
I went on go compare and saga offered me £400 ....!!! For the record still way too much for a 3 bed semi in ascot but still way cheaper than over £2000..
I feel sorry for the old folk that don't check or shop around but trust the company will look after them but they actually just rip these people off..

“Don't use saga for building insurance. My roof was badly damaged by named storm Darragh. Rain now seeping in to ceiling and walls creating black mould because it's been three weeks since my claim and the surveyor they use hasn't even phoned for an appointment. Despite numerous complaints still nothing . They even suggested i get a roofer to do a temporary job at my cost !! .Avoid.”

I have been a customer of Saga car insurance as a two car family for 13 years but I'm absolutely shocked in the last two years the way Saga have massively increased their prices to the extent that they are no longer anywhere near price comparative in the market.
Today for example they have sent my car renewal which is 25% more than last year and almost double what I can get it for for exactly the same thing on God only knows how many companies on the comparison sites. I would encourage everybody to check their premiums for Saga very closely in the future because I'm sure you will find that their pricing has gone crazy and you can get it so much cheaper almost anywhere else these days.
Very disappointing they have now joined the realms of being a rip-off company. So for me is goodbye Saga forever.
