Very unhappy with Scottish Power. I am on a variable rate plan at t try he moment following a 12 month fixed term. The price increase from a £94 direct debit to £148, but the other day this was increased to £198. I found this unacceptable so asked for a reason which I did not get, but was fobbed off with the operative trying to sell me a fixed plan. I asked for an explanation of the increase which was not forthcoming so I have now switched to a fix with British Gas paying a direct debit of £104 with a high saving over Scottish Power. So thanks for the lack of service which motivated me to switch.

I have had previous problems with Scottish power, they were getting mixed up between my account and another account which was in debt. I have just moved house and ends up new house is with Scottish Power and have to pay them the period of time until my switch went through, asked them to send me an invoice so can pay at pay point they refused, was on the line with them for 30 mins and lady said the only way to pay is over the phone or online, went on their website and banking details was listed, they were just making things difficult for me. Customer service are a nightmare they have no idea what they are doing.

Without a doubt the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. They are incapable of getting anything right! They even struggle with the basics, like posting out a gas card so I can actually put credit on my pre payment meter. Useless company

Boiler Care.. Boiler cover with Scottish Power...annual service ok at first good thorough service but since last 2 years consistent issues with boiler. After several visits from subcontractors still not fixed the problem. Had almost every part on the boiler replaced but still same issue. Heating comes on and then goes off and stays off. Got a young disabled son too who needs to be kept ward. Informed that until the boiler completely breaks down nothing can be done!! Excellent customer service that is!!! Fuming cold house and cold kids!!

Tried to get my meter fixed since September. It’s now November, called innumerable times, without any luck. Just today I received an email from them saying they can’t see any top ups for my electricity!!! Wonder how!! I have no words to describe my frustration!

I've been waiting over 1 year for smart… I've been waiting over 1 year for smart meters. I've created several complaints and been told lie after lie. Almost got to the end and twice had my instalment appointment cancelled. Now being told I have to wait another 2 months before they even call me to make an appointment. Ridiculous company. Please, please, please, stay away. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOU.

Pretty consistently appalling. Probably THE most inept, incompetent unprofessional and downright ignorant business that I have EVER encountered. Not just in energy companies but of ANY type of business over the past 50 years. To be THAT bad is quite an achievement! They clearly put zero effort into customers and a lot of effort into maintaining their colossal ineptitude. Well done you!

I  used to go for the cheapest, it did not work out well: Utility Warehouse billed incorrectly after ignoring readings, I had to pay a £600 bill on the spot. GB Energy went bust less than a year after I joined after MSE had endorsed them on their switching site, I'd accumulated a large credit balance I never got back. Iresa was fined by ofgem on multiple failings, overcharged, went bust. They had zero customer support and never input readings, new supplier had to back-bill hundreds.  Tried Economy Energy who over-billed customers by hundreds, banned from taking on new customers and have now become insolvent. Same with OurPower who have also folded, Toto and Solarplicity, Eversmart, Uttily,Brilliant energy. Gnergy about to go bust, Robin Hood have just had to borrow nearly 10 million £ to stay afloat. Breeze energy, and Delta Gas and Power also rocky. These companies also attract huge fines for not sourcing enough energy from renewable sources which is bad for the planet and back for your pocket. Companies with tight margins over-bill customers to claw back extra cash to try to keep afloat, so there aren't really savings despite them advertising 'cheaper' unit rates. They have little to no support & eventually go bust taking your credit you've built up with them, it's a pattern we are seeing more and more. Nobody wants to have to spend hours, weeks, months dealing with consumer complaints and trying to retrieve back their credit from being over-billed or over estimated readings. Please consider your own mental health,go with a solid and reliable company. Currentlly with Bulb, got £50 for joining *credited as soon as my account went live. Website is efficient, updates quickly, good online presence, reliable support phone & email, 100% renewable electricity, and will install a free smart meter if you wish. Join Bulb and get £50 credit, AND they pay any exit fees from your old supplier. No exit fees to leave, if unhappy you can switch for free - you still get your free £50 it's a win-win. Truly awful and very upsetting. I first had issues with SP a few months ago when I suddenly went into my overdraft on my current account. When I checked this was because SP had suddenly changed my DD from about £65 to £444 and had taken 2 payments so I was £888 down. I called them and sorted this although it took me 7 calls where each person gave me different response. Readings were given and my DD went back to normal. Then in August they suddenly took £308 and in September £338. Once agin I called and this was sorted. I was put on a fixed rate until 2021 at £66 pm. Now I check my online account. My September bill was estimated at £230 so after I laid my £66 the account shows I am in debit by £163.99. How can this be when I am on a fixed rate? So when I hit the Direct Debit tab in the online account is says my recommended monthly DD should be £381.... for a 3 bed semi with only myself and my daughter?? Rant over. I’m in the process of switching

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID Unfortunately not able to give minus stars. Without doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with. Have sent me 15 bills in the past 6 weeks all showing different amounts. Made several phone calls to them to find out how much I actually owe. None of their staff were able to help and was told that they're putting a hold on my account so that they can investigate. One week later a get a letter from debt collectors.

I switched my energy away from a Scottish Power to Moneyplus Energy due to the savings and better service. Scottish Power continued to take payments from me and even took two payments in 1 month. When they finally cancelled my account they didn’t send my refund for around 1 month. Terrible service and one agent put the phone down on me because I didn’t know my meter number!

After changing my meters to pay as you go and sorting it all out..... 2 yrs later i apparently owe £407 so tried to take it out of my electric meter at £12 a week. I told them I live in a vulnerable household and I have no idea how this could happen especially when I pay as I use it. They don't care that just want the money. I was incredibly distressed on the phone and told him so..... it made no difference. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CAUSE DISRESS TO VULNERABLE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!

they ganged my customer after supplying me with false information, and personally I am leaving them A.S.A.P they at time switching, not only got my meter serial numbers wrong, which I had 3 months arguement to get it sorted, they told me I would get smart meter within 6 months, year later still not got it. personally as one of the big 6 I WOULD NOT BE RECOMMENDING THEM TO ANYBODY. IF I DID, IT WOULD BE STAY AWAY FROM THEM AS EVEN THEIR SITE IS SLOW
