I bought a carpet from SCS. After five months it’s started threading at the ends and looking a real mess! My advise never buy a carpet from these.

do not be taken in by the sales patter.do not buy the 5year warranty at a cost of £250.after 4 years our seating on the lazyboy sofas has sunk The padding is only guaranteed for 12 months.Only way to remedy this is to pay a chunk of money to have it done.lazyboy sofas do not have zips so can not do it ourselves very disappointed.

I have to say I was apprehensive about the delivery of our sofa after I read the reviews on here. I don’t usually write reviews but as all of these reviews are bad I thought it was necessary for me to give our experience. We fell in love with a sofa in the SCS store Hedge End, the sales man did all he was supposed to - knew all the product info and tried to sell add ons or what ever. He was doing his job! He said delivery would be 5 weeks or after to us and we left happy as this was our move in date to the new flat. Given it was ‘after’ 5 weeks, we brought no other sofas with us - and soon it became apparent we were not going to receive the new sofa any where near to 5 weeks. We called the Hedge End store as the paper work advised and as other people have accounted, they said they’d call back but never did. At this point we realised ‘after 5 weeks’ was completely open ended and they weren’t actually doing anything wrong as there wasn’t an end date to the latest we might receive it. So we waited - and 9 weeks later I received a call to arrange the delivery of the sofa which was today. The lady on the phone read her script and it was nothing special, but she did her job. I was almost sure the sofa would arrive broken or not at all given the terrible reviews on here, but the crew brought it in and did everything they were supposed to and we are so pleased with the sofa! I’m not sure if I would go with SCS again as I would rather have a cement range of delivery estimation, i.e. for this case 5-10 weeks or at least updates on the status of it. Saying that if there was furniture in their store that I loved and I couldn’t find it somewhere else I wouldn’t not go with them. One other thing that I was a bit concerned with was that once you have confirmed a delivery date, there is no email or text to confirm this - so you might not receive it on the day you arranged and there would be not customer evidence that it was originally arranged. Anyway - from this I have learnt that no one review is a reflection of everyone’s experience, and whilst I think SCS could do more to provide a better service we got what we wanted and they didn’t do anything wrong on their part other than not call us back.

We purchased a very expensive 3 and 2 seater settees in January and we got told it would be with them on the 6 March its now the 12 April and it's not even been delivered to them yet. Every time I phone up all I get told is we'll email them but nobody gets back to us, its us doing the chasing all the time. We'll scs you've got till the 29 April n then I can cancel my order and I can go somewhere else, and every time I phone head office and get put through to the correct department it's a voicemail. Never again will I use scs.

Purchased a carpet in the 8th of January this year from the Plymouth branch of SCS. Was told that as it was for stairs it would have to be measured. Guy arrived and did his job (so far fine) was told that I had overpaid by £7 and that the store would contact me in 10 days to arrange fitting. Following week (15th) I returned to the store and received my £7. By the 25th noone had contacted me SOC I phoned and was informed that i was supposed to call them for fitting times .when I asked why the staff didn't offer when I'd been in to collect refund I was told that someone must have "messed up". Carpet was finally fitted in early February on a Friday afternoon. As it was a staircase I was confined to my kitchen as the guys layed it. Once it was down I went to vacuum it and then discovered the huge score running through the middle of the landing (which hd the bag of old carpet covering it). As I was away the weekend I phoned on the Monday and was asked by the store to wait 3 weeks and to keep vacuuming it as it was normal and would wear out. After 3 weeks I phoned the after care team. I was told that someone would come round to assess it. I asked for the following Friday as I could book the day off work. They agreed. Friday I waited in till 2pm and phoned the aftercare team and was told that he was booked for the Saturday like I asked for. I told them this was not the case as I was not even in Plymouth that day and had booked today off. They offered the following Friday. I said it would have to be the next Saturday as I couldn't take anymore time off work. Sunday I had a text from the survayer telling me he couldn't make Saturday as his "matrix" had booked him elsewhere. After a phone call he agreed to come out on a weeknight (Wednesday) guy came round, assessed carpet said it looked like a broken weave and was told it would be sent to the aftercare department. I then waited 2 weeks and had various phonecalls all asking when and what was happening only to be told each time that someone will call me by tomorrow. On the 27th of march SCS phoned me and said that I could have a replacement. They would call once the carpet arrived and arrange fitting. On the 11th April I called the store and was told that I'd be phoned back. I was contacted by the carpet department manager I explained that the fitting would have to be a Saturday as already agreed due to the wait This leads me up to date with all that's happened. The carpet still haven't been replaced. I told the manager over the phone that this is the worst service I've ever received and that someone should be repremanded over this . He said do I really think that's the case, I told him if I had done the same thing in my job I would have been sacked. Honestly I will never go to SCS again for any reason. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

We have spent over £2500 on carpet from SCS which should all be the same make ,colour etc. They blame the colour difference on it being a different batch but cannot explain the poor quality of the second carpet fitted. It has a completely different pile and feel to it,they have fitted an inferior carpet by mistake or because they cocked up.They have even lost the order off of their system but luckily I have the original paperwork.Their surveyor has basically said if it is correct on the order form and the supplier says he sent the right carpet then it’s tough s***. Nobody ever calls you back from the store or the aftercare team so you are basically banging your head against a brick wall.

Purchased a rug November 2017, after 3 months the pile had flattened, telephoned customer service in Sunderland they said we had to take photographs of the carpet, they don’t do home visits, had a e-mail the day after saying it was heavy traffic and a normal characteristic of the rug to flatten with wear and tear and I should turn the rug around and use a rotary vacuum head to rejuvenate the pile, I had already done this but with little success, there is only my self and wife who live at the property. I emailed back to explain this but had no reply. After two weeks I e-mailed them again complaining about the rug and lack of response, the next day I did receive another e-mail with the same excuse that it was a normal characteristic of the rug and as far as they are concerned the matter is closed. I will not buy from SCS again, and will tell friend to keep clear.

Rubbish! Took a week to send the order to the supplier. Then they couldn’t offer me a date for carpet fitting. Manager of the store was rude as were the staff. Tried to cancel my order and it’s totally impossible

Cannot thank or praise SCS enough. Their customer service at has been first class helping us well beyond their legal obligations. All the staff we had dealings with, Andrew, Craig and reception staff have gone out of their way to ensure we are happy with our final choice. Would highly recommend SCS Bridgend.

Abysmal...Straight from ordering at Staples Corner store. Purchased Lazy Boy 3 seater and 2 seater and was told that the 2 seater is only available as a recliner option. So paid the additional amount until I decided to make a call on their online ordering service and was told that it can be made as a static version. Went back and told manager, so I had to pay a unnecessary visit. Was promised to be delivery within 6 weeks, turned out 9 weeks later delivery was due. Got a missed call but with voicemail that delivery would be in an hour. Prepped everything waited and waited and decided to call the store who then told me to call the delivery guys. Well they had been and gone, stating that they left documentation. Lies, there was none and that they cannot deliver till after Easter. Proceeded to call their head office where I was speaking to the most rudest, unprofessional, lack of inter personal skills personal I have had the unpleasure of speaking to. Trying to explain my situation, she spoke over me and became more and more agitated and aggressive as the saint delivery team did their jobs and its you the paying customer whom is in the complete wrong. Asked to speak to the manager but unfortunately, he won't be in till Tuesday. Utterly incompetent and lacking and form of warm customer service from the call. Its not worth dealing with these crooks, everything is your word against theirs and you will not win. SCS are absolutely are sham of a business and should be out of business in the not too distant future. AVOID!

LIARS and APPALLING SERVICE!!! We were sold two sofas by Brian, then the manager at Junction 9 (now at Cannock?)... if we asked once, we must have asked at least 5 times whether or not the seat cushions were easy-maintenance, i.e. did not require regular rearrangement/'plumping up', as my wife and I are both elderly and disabled... he categorically stated that he had the same suite at home and that they would require no maintenance whatsoever... he made a big play of asking one of his staff to confirm his statements. In fairness, Brian's attitude, coming over as a timeshare salesman, and boasting about being the best salesman at SCS, and how the repairs in the car park had damaged his takings, etc, etc, should have rung alarm bells in our head, but we made the common stupid mistake of expecting others to be as honest and truthful as we are! Within 5 days, it was obvious that we had been deceived, as the piping around the cushions was all misaligned. We contacted the store. Initially, the store arranged for a strapping young man from HomeServe (not to be confused with the home maintenance company of the same name) to visit... he asked us 'how we sat' and used the sofas?!!! We politely answered and explained that it was just the two us and there had been very little use, and certainly no abuse, of the sofas. He then proceeded to place all the cushions on the floor, and spent 30 minutes pummelling and rearranging them with all his might. He then advised us that we had to follow this procedure twice daily! It was patently obvious that Brian the manager had lied to us... we had been deceived... it was a clear instance of misrepresentation. There then ensued an innumerable amount of phone calls, emails, photos, between the store, their Customer Service and us...it soon became obvious, that, despite numerous promises made to us by many personnel on frequent occasions, it was all weasel words and delaying tactics. At one point, we even contacted the actual manufacturer, and we were told that the salesman should not have made such a statement, as their cushions do need 'dressing' every day. Eventually we were effectively ignored and given the brush off with no further action to be taken by SCS. We were not seeking a refund... we would have been happy with replacement cushions! This was the first, and indeed the last, time we will ever buy anything from SCS... in our experience, they are institutional liars with the ethos and morals of a bad used car salesman. We would earnestly warn any shopper, should they find themselves in a similar position to us, to ask for a 'written' confirmation of any statements and promises made 'prior to purchase'... there again, does one really want to go to this effort to do business with liars, who will just string you along and give you the runaround?! [The below question on this website in nonsensical, as the words 'help you with' are not ones that spring to mind when thinking of SCS as the subject in a sentence... of course, we'd like to be taken seriously, and it would be marvellous if an honest, conscientious representative with integrity from SCS were to contact us and resolve this issue... but we haven't come across anyone of this description... it's seems to be that once SCS has your money, tough!

How long does it take to get a door bar? so far over 4 months so i have cut my losses and even though Mark in Scunthorpe told me "would you like me to reduce my value of goods by £7.99 and go get one elsewhere". After about 10 visits to the store and countless phone calls I have decided to go buy one from a proper carpet shop. Unfortunately it doesn't give me the option to leave no stars! The after service is far worse that the great service i had it store

Brand new corner sofa, 3 legs broken. driver to avoid taking sofa away lied saying someone would be out in a few days to repair the legs. The useless SCS aftercare service said as the delivery driver was no longer there we had accepted the sofa even though we wrote NO on their paperwork. New legs have to be ordered which will take weeks, even then someone has to come round to fix them, ive refused to pay for the sofa in its current condition but no one in SCS knows how to stop payments taking place until the sofa is repaired, and in the mean time i have a brand new sofa being held up with cardboard.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!!! We brought a endurance leather sofa off them for 2500 and paid 370 for 7 years full cover. Supposedly for anything. 3 years later the leather starts peeling off all the corners and seems! (so much for endurance!) Anyway are now being told it is wear and tear and it is not covered. This is twice now we have been scammed by them. Brought cover last time and frame broke and they told us the frame was not covered. Should have learn't the first time but partner liked the idea of "endurance" leather as it is anti stain and scratch. But not anti peel! Please save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. You would get better quality buying off travelers out the back of a van! and i am not joking.

I went into the Branch at Staples Corner to order a 3 Seater sofa. I paid for the Sofa after i was assured it would arrive at my home dismantled and then reassembled inside the living room due to a very narrow hallway in my home. On the day of delivery, the Sofa arrived in one piece which meant that the delivery men could not get it indoors. The Sofa was returned to the warehouse and I was later told that I would have to pay a Contractor £120 to assemble the Sofa in my home. Apparently, this was company policy, but it was not mentioned to me when I purchased the Sofa. I asked for a refund and I was told I could not have one. The salesman that attended to me has been indisposed and is never at the showroom when I call. There were numerous promises of callbacks that went unfulfilled. The only resolves I got was when I spoke to a gentleman call Antonio. I eventually had to pay the contractor £120 which drove up the total cost of the Sofa. All in all, it has been a very frustrating experience. and I will never go back to scs of recommend anyone. The customer service is appalling once they get your money

Information on warranties virtually nil at store level, quality and finish of Lazy boy sofa and chair very mediocre for the £2500 paid, filling uneven, stitching of covers uneven ,fabric design not matched up,covers baggy and after one week of use showing very poor upholstery quality !Almost looks like it was made in some backstreet workshop, rather than a professionally run furniture factory ! Will have to see how professional the manufacturer and SCS are at addressing the concerns !

Visited the reading store with my friend looking for a sofa bed for her mother. First off he said the size we were looking for was the size that was in the store. He then changed the size of the sofa which meant it was too big. I've been looking to buy a new sofa and saw one that I liked and agreed to buy it. However, my friend asked if they would throw in a meter o fabric the same as the cushions as I wanted to make some arm protection. No this wasn't possible all he was interested in was the cost. I then asked if I could have 4 of the same cushions instead of the ones on the sofa. No this was impossible. Then told us girls to go home and basically stop asking questions and call tomorrow with our order. Sorry scs you lost yourself a order today. Maybe train your staff in manners and customer service would be well worth it. Went to Oak furniture land and purchased a sofa in there. They were so helpful and very accommodating, wouldn't hesitate to recommend, thank you Oak Furniture Land, poor show SCS
