“I have taken three tours - the first to the Dominican did not meet my expectations. I felt that the advertisement did not truly describe the area and the tours which were very disappointing. However, the next trips to B.C. and Scotland were excellent with knowledgeable guides, interesting side trips and good accommodation - very well planned and good value for the money. I hope to take a future trip, depending on the pandemic and how it plays out.”

“I have generally enjoyed my tours with SDT. One shortcoming is dining in hotels buffet style much of the time. I want to eat in local restaurants for the evening meal and even lunch , with variety offered. That is VERY important to me as part of the experience in a different country.”
“Overall I found SDT great but there are 2 areas I feel need improvement. According to the literature gatuities are included in the package but I had one tour director who continually "suggested" we tip over and above. I found this uncomfortable. The 2nd concern involved myself as a solo traveller. Once the tour gets underway and we meet others, the solos join together for free time. But many tours have "free time" the very first day. You are in a strange place all alone, uncomfortable and a bit scary.”

“We have taken 6 trips. The first 5 exceeded expectations and provided some extras in addition to what we were to receive. The last one met expectations although we felt it was not up to the previous 5. Specifically no dedicated local guide for some of the trip plus some long waits at airports and no unexpected extras like the previous trips.”
“The single people in the group got the worst rooms ignoring their mobility they were always furthest away and got the worst view. Possibly it was the tour guide that was at fault. The tour only had 13 people on it and we travelled in a very bumpy van and the people at the rear could see nothing out of the windows. The tour guide definitely had her favourites on the tour.”
