“The team that did our move were very professional and courteous the only reason for 4 out of 5 is that their equipment was was lacking and their coordinating efforts were more of a B game not an A game hence the labor time was 5 1/2 hours instead of 3 1/2 - 4 hours ....a 4th person would have made a big difference”
“The 2 guys that came today and loaded our moving truck were AMAZING! They were creative (I couldn’t get something off the wall), they were helpful (I needed help getting something into a neighbors car to go to the landfill), and they were all-around just great guys. We are 6 hours into our cross country drive and just looked into the back and nothing has moved. They were perfect!”

“I understand that SML contracts out for services but the individuals who did our move banged up walls, left marks on the carpet, left items in the back of the moving truck, and also threw their garbage in the back of the moving truck before closing it and saying they were finished. Oh, and did I mention that they were also very late in arriving? Multiple excuses were used. Very disappointed. I would never use this service again.”
“Company did not pass all by our phone number to 3 man move by crew as requested by the customer so they were wandering around for an hour. Knocked on door and woke up our 3rd shift working neighbor instead. Disappointed in that and 2 guys did not come with masks so had to seek them out as well. That took a while because they got stopped by trains and did not know the alternate route around them. Rest went smoothly and guys were pleasant. The guy in charge insists his boss never passes along customers contact phone numbers.”
“I found SML on line and am very glad I did. We only had a small move of one bedroom but much of the furniture was too heavy and bulky for us to handle. The two guys arrived on time and went right to work. They were courteous and professional and the entire experience went off without a hitch. They were careful of our belongings and gladly took and suggestions I offered as to how to organize the furniture in the new location. I can highly recommend SML for any of your moving needs. They are both professional and well priced.”
“We had 3 in the SML team to load our truck. One was the lead or supervisor (Ms. Johnson). She was very professional with me and her team. Her communication was clear and her organizational skills apparent. The team worked efficiently. One of the team members displayed arrogance to me and the SML team. He appeared to be knowledgeable; and at times, he talked over Ms. Johnson and me, exhibiting disrespect and unwilling to listen. His demeanor was one of "know-it-all" which impeded communication. We had segregated items to three distinct sections in the basement because the truck had 3 stops (Good Will; Electronics Disposal and Storage Shed; SML doing only 1 stop (Storage Unit). I believe because of the recalcitrant team member (I don't know his name) when we stopped at the Goodwill location, we found several items that SML should have unloaded at the storage unit. Ms. Johnson and Derrick (excellent team members) had introduced themselves to me, but the third did not. Ms. Johnson may have told me the third person's name; I don't recall.
I am engaging SML to unload my truck for my move from San Antonio to St. Louis the first of May. I would be pleased to have Ms. Johnson and Derrick handle my move. Please do not assign the third member to this move. Ms. Johnson exhibited what I call "polite firmness" with the third gentleman and I believe she did what was reasonable to direct him without creating a customer service "issue." He was not appropriately responsive. I will add that I tipped all three individuals; I decided it would be more divisive for the SML team if I withheld a tip for the less cooperative individual.
