“The cruise was most enjoyable. More communication about the history, terrain and villages we were passing would have been helpful, in written or spoken format.The local tour guides were excellent, perhaps with the exception of one who did not speak clearly for anyone with a hearing deficit. The ship was clean and the staff very friendly which was most appreciated. Clean windows in the lounge would be a plus. The food menu selection was adequate, but more variety would be helpful. The dining room staff had difficutly the first couple of days for patrons who needed/wanted to change tables. I would certainly recommend this cruise.”

“Renata was the best guide possible for this region since she has so much experience. The negatives on the trip had to do with poor hotel locations in every city except Warsaw which was perfectly located. I also think that there were too many cities. We could have dropped one of them. Which one ? Hard to say -they are all amazing.”

“Overall a wonderful tour, seeing lots of China highlights. Mark was a fabulous tour guide. The need to tip constantly got old. The biggest issue was the several people requiring wheelchairs which slowed down the tours. I would recommend rating tours based on activity level so people don’t sign up for tours beyond their capabilities. There were at least eight falls due to people pushing themselves too hard.”

“Entire trip ran very well and was very well planned. Ravi our tour guide was fantastic. His narration and knowledge was top rate. Wonderful sites wonderful people hotels are well situated and made sightseeing so much easier. Fantastic country to see”

“Why on earth would you let one Land Cruiser go out with 7 riders and one with 4??? It cost us an extra $180 to sit together on American Airlines JFK to Paris. Your blanket denial of responsibility for reservations is just self serving.”

“I travel with SmarTours to Croatia from 10/03 to 10/16. Here is my feedback: 1. I like the itinerary very much. It covers all the wonderful sites in the area 2. Except in Zargrab and Dubrovnik, I DO NOT like the hotels we stayed anywhere else. I remember I saw a spider in bed at one hotel. At another, there was a flood in the bathroom floor every time we took a shower. It turned out that the bathtub door wasn't sealed. 3. Rok is a very good tour director. But his mannerism is a little rough on the edges. r”

“We found SmarTours very organized and well led. (Ron McGregor) The hotels were very good, especially the Marriot Protea outside Kruger Park. The breakfasts were very good as were most of the included lunches and dinners. A few complaints 1. Water bottles should have been given out every day of touring, as other companies do - charge a bit more 2. We should have taken a direct flight to Durban from Cape Town - I know South African doesn't offer one, but others airlines do. It was a very LONG day. 3. Some of the optional tours were not explained well - eg. Robben's Island and the Wine Tour - definite mixup of times. This did not apply to us but there was a lot of walking on some of the regular tours and some of the people could not walk well. This should be emphasized more. 4. Dinner should have been included the second night in Zululand - we had NO other choice.”

“Both my wife and I totally enjoyed your trip to Africa although we did enjoy our trip to China a lot better because of the information we received first and the follow through of the information at the other end. There were two excursions I was looking forward to doing and I understand the disclosure that they're not guaranteed but on one of them we were told it's not the season for doing that. Also, when we stayed at one of the hotel Reserves they took us on a cat reserved where you would see lots of wild cats and it was extremely interesting. We found out afterwards there was a fee for this not before and if I recall I don't recall seeing a fee in your description. My wife and I can understand that on some of the days there were length Lee bus rides and to be prepared but it was not professional to let the customer, us, know that in the final documents. That would have been best to know when signing up for the trip. My life's dream was to go to Victoria Falls I am an adventure type of person. We have travel agents from over the years and we really like your services, but our other travel agents would have pointed out that this is not the best time of year to go see Victoria Falls, which was an expensive side Excursion trip of yours and not discluding that it was beautiful. It was extremely disappointing to me and I have all intentions of returning to Africa just to see Victoria Falls as 90% of the falls were dry. It was pointed out by the tour guides that this is not the time of the year to see Victoria Falls. Both my wife and I would have still gone on the trip but would have chosen a different season to do that. And that is where we depend on our travel agents to let us know that as the other two would have. A suggestion for your future long-distance travels and we do respect that some places are far away and our length Ali plane rides, but in the future you should provide supersonic transport making the trip only 2 to 3 hours, that would have been nice. Only kidding. Thank You for Your services and there is no doubt that we would not use you again. Martin Berger”

“This was my first organized Tour experience, so I have nothing to compare it to. That said, the trip exceeded my expectations. Beginning with our Tour Guide, Ron, he was a wealth of information and always went above and beyond to provide us with what we needed. Every Bus Driver and Safari Guide were also extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Each destination was exciting and better than the previous. We saw all of the big animals as well as many others, multiple times. It was amazing. All accommodations were clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this Tour to everyone! Karen Simpson”

“excellent value for the money. our guide,Mark Ma, was outstanding-calm,knowledgeable, patient and accommodating. he always went the extra mile. hotels were all very good except for the one in Xian. our room was supposed to be non smoking and it reeked of cigarettes. it was also in poor repair. we had to view 4 more rooms before we finally found one that was acceptable. i would suggest looking into another hotel. i thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would not hesitate to recommend Smartours.”

“Ravi was a great tour director. He took very good care of the group. We experienced things that are hard to describe. Examples are the traffic, the roads, the animals were everywhere you look. The people were very friendly. However, the people selling items on the street were very aggressive. The travel was tiring.”
