“The trip was just as outlined in the SmarTour’s itinerary. The guides on our Russian trip were excellent. Unfortunately most of us on the tour got a Norwalk ( or similar) virus on the ship. The crew and SmarTours guide did everything they could, including providing Dr. Services and needed medications, however, I personally was very ill for 4 days and could not eat for 6 days. The problem was on the ship as most people fell ill. I Consequently missed some stops and activities. I expected SmarTours to contact us regarding this and do think that some kind of compensation would be in order.”

“Smartours Croatia exceeded my expectations! Thoroughly enjoyed the tour in every respect. Suggestions-more history & detail of past & current culture by tour guide on bus, several optional tours should be part of the package(Lake Bled boat ride & Istria), More dinners in restaurants and NOT in hotels and more time in Split. Please eliminate your min. 10 characters and welcome all comments!!!!”

“Good tours and tour director. Riverboat is only fair....needs updating and food was awful. That was one thing everyone agreed on. Well organized and local guides were very good, as were the optional tours. The box lunches for those on optional tours (which were by no means inexpensive) were terrible. They would sit for hours on the bus, unrefrigerated... a recipe for food poisoning.”

“Excellent trip with a totally fantastic bus driver/tour guide in Peter Murphy. Would highly recommend it to everybody. The only thing I would have added would have been more tour time and attractions visited in Dublin.”

“Very disappointing experience with the tour guide! Felt she had a lot of favorite fellow travelers! She did not take into account that there were older travelers that actually needed a scheduled time for lunches due to certain health concerns.”

“Got to see a lot but felt it was too short a time for that particular itinerary. Your tour guide was knowledgeable and helpful. One major negative. Other than Budapest, as nice as they were, they were far away from central areas. I either had to use a taxi to get around or hope I got on the right transit. This itinerary would have been ideal for another 4-5 days”

“Elvis was an excellent guide and so was the driver. I hated Dubrovnik and would never go there again due to the crowds. Would like to have spent more time in Montenegro.”

“I have no issue with smartours, my issue was with river cruise that I give 3 on the review, they have american passengers but they don’t speak English, tour director had attitude and prejudice, food very poor quality, half of the ship got sick because of food but only thing they did , they put gloves on, fruit was cut in pieces so was exposed, milk and yogurt was served in the pitcher, sometimes they had yogurt in container, and they were not kept in ice that’s why people got sick.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed this tour of Japan. The hotels were first class and the included meals were very good as well. Our Japanese tour guide Akiko was exceptionally qualified for her job. She is knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and has excellent people skills. She is the type person we would want as our friend in the United States! She is most likely the BEST tour guide we've ever had, so please pass our comments on to her. We will recommend this tour to our friends.”

“I recently participated in the Great Cities of Eastern Europe SmarTours. The scheduled tour as is planned is well done with a tour guide in each city. Our tour director, Renata, enhanced our experience with her first hand knowledge of each area as well as the historical background she shared. Renata made the trip exceptional. We enjoyed the SmarTours Optional Excursions that gave us an additional experience in the countryside around the Cities. We enjoyed a very compatible group of travelers which made the motorcoach travel and our meals together very enjoyable. The hotels in Warsaw, Krakow, and Budapest were great hotels and were all within walking distance of the Old Towns. It was disappointing in Vienna and especially Prague that the hotels were both long distances from the City Center. There was an underground line relatively close to both hotels. Overall this was a fantastic glimpse of Eastern Europe. I look forward to returning to this area as well as experiencing another part of our world with SmarTours!”
