Before Covid, when we could visit a Sports Direct store in person, we all knew we were guaranteed to experience disorder, confusion, and chaos. You could see one or two employees trying very hard with the limited tools at their disposal. Then you could see the vast majority of employees in these understaffed stores that definitely hate their jobs, with this being reflected in how they look after their store and their customers. I was hoping SportsDirect.com online would provide a better experience. I was hoping it would be absent of the depressing disorder from an in-person store visit. I was hoping because of Covid-19 restrictions, more effort would have been placed into customer centricity to make a positive online experience. Some work is definitely needed to improve SportDirect.com's online service. For the positives: I was able to find an affordable pair of shoes, and they arrived quickly. It turns out I needed a different size. I was hoping this should not have been an issue. Many great online retailers have solved this workflow with a highly positive customer experience. This is where the SportsDirect.com online experience ran off the rails. Here are three things I believe SportsDirect.com should do to start making their customer experience even better; and convince me I should return as a customer: 1) Make customer returns and exchanges quick, easy, and frictionless. 2) Customers should not have to pay for shipping again to return or exchange a product. Paying again creates a negative perception. It made me realise any money saved by going to SportsDirect.com online was lost, and I would have been better served paying slightly more by going to another online retailer who better understands the importance of customer experience. 3) Do not use, recommend, or suggest Royal Mail for returns. Royal Mail is known for limited (and reducing) locations with long, slow moving queues to send or return a package. Sports Direct might think the Royal Mail customer experience is out of their control. This is not the case. If choosing to recommend Royal Mail for a return, this becomes part of Sports Direct's value and customer experience chain. There are other shipping and logistics partners that make returns and exchanges quick, easy, frictionless and with a positive experience; other online retailers are using them, SportsDirect.com online should too.

It was easy to shop and to check out but I sincerely cannot understand why you don´t ship directly from the country where the customer is based and where you have stores. If you have stores in country with the same stock, why don´t you forward the orders to the local stores for them to send the items out? For customers this is quicker and you could even have shop and collect like other stores and brands have. it is a pity that with COVID this was not thought through and with clothes and shoes shops closed, this would have been very welcome indeed. Waiting as long as we wait to get items from the UK is unnecessary when the store is 10kms from home.

The sizing on your asics shoes were completely off. I am a UK size six, I bought 6.5 gel venture 8 running shoes. Had to return them and buy a UK 8 which was also too small. Also the shoes didn't have the correct sizing for US UK or European sizing.

Scam. You allow me to order items that aren’t actually in stock, so I only get half of my order, and then you still expect me to pay full postage- at your extortionate price. Disgusting.

The main reason to buy the Puma jogger (Product code: 482045) was the 2 zipped pockets as it appears on the description and shown on the product images. However, the received product does not have a 2 zipped pocket. I’ve contacted the customer service and was advised to return the product, but when I asked about the refund for postage charges, they told It’s on me. In the end, they replaced the product for the same without a zip pocket, and I was informed they closed the matter. Therefore, this product announcement is a scam; they offer a product, deliver a different one, you pay for the return, they return the same wrong product and close the case.

I made one mistake and no one was willing to help me. Just got parred off as there was “nothing they could do”. I couldn’t track the item. It was a gift, I didn’t even know it got to My family member till o received this review email. Terrible experience. Probably won’t bother next time.
