I decided to call Staysure instead of doing it online. The policy was for myself & my husband. Having gone through all the process and paid, I was horrified to see the policy only covered me. I called back. To be told I could cancel or take out an additional policy covering my husband. I chose the additional policy. An hour later it was sorted. I now have 2 policies instead of one joint one. We'll see what happens on renewal.

When trying to claim an airfare - cancelled due to a cancer diagnosis - the process was appallingly drawn out, repetitive request for paperwork, lack of empathy and still no refund given yet.

Shame new customers appear prioritised over existing customers- thought those days were a thing of the past in the industry. Repeated email reminders not a bad thing - shame price was up jalmost 50% even without any claim and then on completion to renew another 20% had mysteriously been added

Disappointing, there was nowhere on the quotes page (that I could find) to list specific conditions, and, when I tried to login to my account I was informed I was not recognised. I then tried to reset my password, to which I did not get a response. Finally I tried, on several attempts , to create a new account; complying with the site character combination requirements, on 5 attempts i could not set up a new account. I suppose this means I will have to make an expensive phone update! This needs sorting. It happened to me last year. Its a Sunday, there is no phone service and live chat did not work!

I completed the details for the quote online, but whilst I thought about it and explored other options, I did keep getting emails about the quote exhorting me to finalise. Then before paying I firstly wanted to check that I had correctly stated the details and secondly wanted a bit more information. I eventually found a phone number and managed to speak to someone. That person told me I could review the details online, but after putting me on hold for a few minutes, came back and said she didn't know how I could go about this. However she said that she could do this with me. Then followed an incredibly frustrating half an hour when she kept repeating things, talking over me, and often speaking in a way that I simply couldn't understand. Then, lo and behold, someone totally different telephoned me about 20 minutes later to find out the reason I hadn't taken out the insurance. Really? The insurance may have been the cheapest, but the customer service was atrocious. I doubt I will use Staysure again, it bordered on harassment tbh.

My daughter insisted I should notify Staysure that last year I had a low strength injection in my thumb for wear&tear arthritis. The renewal jumped from £518 to £770 . Is this normal or exhorbitant ?

Price quoted online kept changing after I spoke with your employee. Long waits to clear changes required for policy. Your employee was pleasant and helpful though. The system need impeoving

Initial phone call took ages the price was ridiculously high. It was then reduced and was still high so I didn't take it further. Later I had three phone calls the first reduced the quote three fold!!!! Two further duplicated phone calls. I phoned back next day to accept that quote but no record of the final quote so same rigmarole again. Eventually renewed at an acceptable price.

Being an old man, I had to renew my travel insurance by phone. Sadly it took almost an hour. Partly because I had difficulty with pronounciation & accent. The agents were very patient & curtious, having to, often, repeat themselves. The phone reception was slightly 'buzzy' which didn't help. Also, as an aside, geographical knowledge was poor. Lastly, it is a shame that so many of the questions were repetitive.

10 December 2025 I was sent a renewal letter saying that I didn’t need to do anything it would automatically renew for another year. 11 January 2026 four days before I am due to fly out on holiday I am informed that my insurance was about to expire, I have paid the renewal in full, but it could have caused problems , the guy who sorted it all out was very good. A large part of yesterday morning was taken up with my application for a policy: first online, then over the phone as directed to provide details of my health, then paid for the policy, read the documents and discovered that despite the long conversation with me detailing my upcoming medical needs, an error had been made in the report. I had to phone again and go through all the initial procedure before explaining why I had called. The assistant was eventually able to amend the medical form. Within about 10 minutes of that conversation I received a phone call from Staysure, asking me if the details on the medical form were correct. She didn't know that I had phoned and that the form had been amended. The whole process was disappointing due to the time taken to complete.

Everything was fine except I forgot to put in the Black Friday code so missed the discount. It would have helped to have been given that automatically

Felt interrogated by your operative. He was overly pushy and didn't understand basic terminology. I was stuck on the phone for ages to him - our travel insurance has never ever cost as much, so I doubt we would come back to Staysure again. Also don't think the person was UK based as there was so much he just couldn't understand - not language as such, but terminology. Found the whole call extremely stressful. I actually asked how long he had been doing the job and he said 12 months. He wasn't rude, just lacking in knowledge.

Very disappointed. I have been a customer of of Staysure for a number of years now and have never made a claim. Initially they tried to increase my premium by about 300%. After a number of very stressful discussions on the phone they agreed to an increase in premium of ONLY 75%. I needed the cover and so I was over a barrel.

Staysures assistant was absolutely awful. Whilst taking down my details upon purchasing my insurance she kept switching her telephone to mute and was laughing and giggling with her colleagues. This resulted in her emailing me details that were not for the holiday that I had just purchased but one for a different destination on a different date and a different price to the one I had just been quoted for by telephone. Subsequent telephone conversations with two different members of Staysures team have hopefully rectified the situation. Time will tell.

I have 12 months travel insurance, worldwide, which is shortly due for renewal. As well as renewing, I wanted to cut down to European cover. I phoned and heard that lines were 'exceptionally busy at this time' (13.30), so I asked for a call-back, expected in about 10-15 minutes. It never came. After waiting about 20 minutes, I went on line, and found my account without any problem, and got nowhere, tried the help chat, which made it sound easy: 'select the tab', but there wasn’t a tab. Ah! I was on auto-renewal, so perhaps I should make the change to my existing policy. So phoned again 30 minutes or so wait, then a helpful lady wrestled with the 'problem', when my cordless phone cut out. Full marks to her as she rang back. And finally, 3 hours from the start, success and an email confirming a minute later.
