“I used to shop in person at a local Steinmart. I liked everything they sold -the shoes, purses, jewelry, clothing. But the store closed and I haven’t been inside a Steinmart for several years now. I looked them up online today and was surprised to see they’re still in business. But I was disappointed. Steinmart is no longer as interesting and unique as they used to be. Now most of their stuff looks like it’s from Kohl’s. Steinmart used to sell interesting, well-made unique things. Clothes I never really saw anywhere else. All very tempting. But their current, online items bore me. What happened to their previous sense of fashion ? What happened ? And all the online models look like teenagers. It’s offensive to mature women not to see anyone older than about 20. Get real. It all looks like a juniors catalog.”

“I would like to add to the many complaints about this company. This is the worst customer service experience ever. My order came to me completely wrong. I order everything online and never has this happend to me. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE”

“Order 150973. I ordered 2 items. 1 incorrect item was shipped, still waiting on 2nd item. It’s been 6 months. Have sent multiple complaints to “support”. I want my credit card reimbursed. Ripped off.”

“I returned 2 items in January for a store credit, and not only have I never received the credit, none of my emails are actually answered, just a computer generated reply giving an excuse about the busy holidays, even though it is now April! This company doesn't actually give you a credit. They just STEAL your money after you've returned the merchandise! This company is a joke! No working phone numbers, no way to reach customer service, no replies to emails. Don't EVER send anything back! You're better off selling it on Facebook Marketplace. At least you'll get your money for it since this company commits theft!”

“I placed an order 3 months ago and my credit card was charged. After 4 months, I have received nothing and they do not return my emails and their number is out of service. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM STEINMART- IT IS A FRAUD!!!!”

“Placed order. Credit card was charged. No item received emailed numerous times with automated useless response. All phone numbers are out of service. I disputed charge with credit card company. Hopefully won’t be charged. Don’t know what is happening. Ugh.”

“I ordered a butterfly throw months ago and haven't recieved it using a steinmart gift card. I've emailed customer support numerous times and no response. They owe me over $125 and I can't get a refund or my merchandise. I don't know what to do. They don't have a working customer service number.”

“In-store quality was AMAZING! On-line quality is cheap and INCREDIBLY OVERPRICED!! This website is NOT Steinmart that we all knew and loved and enjoyed. Stay away, don't get ripped-off. R.I.P. the real Steinmart.”

“If I could give it -0 stars I would. I loved to shop in the store located in Port St. Lucie fl. The clothes were beautiful and the pricing structure was great. This website is a total disgrace. Not sure where the clothing comes from but it is the ugliest I have ever seen. And the pricing is rediculos . Either go back to the original store or forget the website.”

“I saw Steinmart had been added as a vendor offering teacher discounts in October. I purchased items on a debit card. They have been horrible. I will never purchase from them again. They never emailed me that one item was out of stock. It just never came and when I emailed them, they said, oh, it was not available. They only wanted to give me a credit - for items never received. I demanded a refund for that item. I got a refund 3 weeks later. Their emails always say something like we have too many inquiries and will be back with you soon. I had other items in the order. I sent them back. I do not have my money back, nor any answers from them. I cannot reach them with any phone number I see for them online. The customer rep I dealt with is not responding to me. My bank said they can email a letter requesting Steinmart contact the bank. No response has been given back, not even to my bank. I am out $102 roughly. I always loved the brick and mortar stores. How terrible of them to take advantage of people, us teachers, who don't make a lot of money to begin with. -DS in Sanford”

“Horrible experience. Only received part of my order. Can't get the rest. Phones disconnected. No response to support email. When I receive my credit card invoice I will have to dispute any charge. I even subscribed to their $9.99 a month to receive orders without paying for shipping. There won't be any further orders. I've trid to go online to cancel the monthly charge but they won't let me login. It tells me they don't recognize my email even though I get 3 or 4 emails from them every day!! So frustrating! Horrible, horrible experience!!”

“A rip-off! The online store charged me but NEVER delivered the second item in my order, did not provide tracking information and refused to respond to my customer service messages about delivery or a refund. They do not provide a business number for customer service. NO PRODUCT- NO EMAIL RESPONSE-NO TELEPHONE NUMBER - NO REFUND WORST ONLINE RETAIL EXPERIENCE!!!! DO NOT PATRONIZE WITH THIS COMPANY!!!”

“I ordered “pier one ginger peach reed disfuser oil” that I always purchased from pier one before they closed and absolutely loved it. I was so happy to find it online through Steinmart. Unfortunately, when I received it, it has little to no scent! I’m assuming it must be out of date. With steinmarts return policy, it would not be realistic to return it as the shipping cost to receive it and return it would cost me more than I paid! It was my first purchase and will definitely be my last.”

“My husband ordered me a dress for Christmas the latter part of November. We haven't heard anything from them. They immediately took the money. We tried contacting them only getting automated responses. We contacted BBB. Apparently they didn't respond to them either. So sorry I didn't read the reviews.”

“Received a glass candle, which was chipped, contacted stein mart with a photo, got an automated response, then nothing. I have emailed them 4 times and no response. Last time I shop here. This used to be such a great company.”

“HORRIBLE. Sent me the WRONG pants (2) and will only offer a “store credit” after I PAY to send the pants back…and the store credit is only for the cost, not shipping on any replacement. RIPOFF>. Will never every buy from this Steinmart/DressBarn online again. Also, I NEVER got a confirmation email (so I can’t confirm to the credit card company what my order was in order to dispute charges/inaccurate order fulfillment)…and the order number I took a screenshot of when I checked out “cannot be found”by the company. Complete SCAM.”

“The actual Steinmart store in Louisville Ky had the most beautiful stylish trendy looks and the prices were fabulous. Unfortunately when Covid hit, the store ended up closing after over 20 years of thriving. Now this ONLINE Steinmart store is awful. The prices are extremely over priced and tops or other merchandise is so substandard. Nothing of quality. It looks like bargain basement prints and cheap material. Whoever took over the Steinmart and selects products, does not do a good job at all. It is sad. Down hill.”
