Good morning Ladies: This seems to be a trend with Steinmart, which is now under new management. We need to stop making purchases from them and start a Class Action Suit. I had the same experience with them sending me a used blouse. I initiated a return, and it took only a day for them to say they received it but two weeks for them to respond again, asking if I would take 20% off and keep the blouse. The blouse doesn't fit. So I said I would donate it to Goodwill, and Steinmart could credit my account for the $26...crickets. I haven't heard from them, so I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Steinmart trying to survive at our expense.

DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! WON'T TAKE RETURNS UNLESS YOU CONTACT THEM FIRST, AND THEN THEY DON'T REPLY TO ANY CONTACT. I HAVE TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES. (THERE WAS NO RECEIPT OR FORM TO FILL OUT IF YOU WANTED TO RETURN, JUST A NOTE TO SAY YOU HAD TO CONTACT THEM FIRST IF YOU WANTED TO MAKE A RETURN.) I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN. I GUESS I AM JUST STUCK WITH THE DRESS THAT DOESN'T FIT AND LOOKS CHEAP, THEY HAVE MY MONEY SO ITS MY LOSS. WISH I HAD READ REVIEWS BEFORE I ORDERED BECAUSE I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THIS COMPANY. JUST WENT IN GOOD FAITH. A RUBBISH COMPANY

Just called my credit card company to dispute charges they didn't credit back on returned items. Store credit was shorted. They gave me $3 instead of the $98 it should have been. Obviously this company is a dumpster fire now.

I ordered sheets from an ad on line. They are not the color shown. I have written 5 letters to customer service. The auto response says they will get back to me for return and credit. They do NOT. Your company sucks. You are taking advantage of an elderly person by not sending a label for return and crediting my account. This is appalling.

I would give negative reviews. By reading many reviews, I see my issue is Typical practice for Steinmart. Class action lawsuit?! I spent a lot of money here just to get Absolutely NO response to my issues.

terrible customer service. I competed their form on line to return items n keep being told they are checking into it n no response. No answer when I call customer service. Reporting to authorities, can not return item that does not fit. Will not buy from them again.

Purchased blouse 6/5 online for 25.91, which was advertised as the color "coral". Upon receipt blouse was labeled as "poppy' I can best describe it as "hot pink". I immediately initiated a return via email and they sent me a prepaid return label and stated would receive refund 5-7 days. Item was received by Steinmart on 6/12. When no refund was received I emailed them 3 more times. Then I received a $9.77 gift card which I returned. They then sent an email stating that they do not refund the amount that the item was discounted ??? and do not refund sales tax. This is illegal. I have now disputed the charge with Bank of America. Horrible, dishonest business. So sad, I loved the brick and mortar store before it closed.

I, as so many who have written reviews, loved shopping at Stein Mart for the past 30 years. Once all stores closed, I had not tried any online orders. But I recently decided to give them a try. I ordered several tops that looked nice enough on the pictures, but when I received them, several looked NOTHING like the pics. I decided to keep a couple and send back a couple. WELL, try getting hold of anyone in customer service - NO DICE!! I sent two emails, asking for help to return (which is what they advise you must do), and so far after almost 2 weeks, have gotten no reply. I even tried sending a scathing email with everything I felt they were doing to cheat me out of my money, but got NOTHING in reply. I also tried two different nos. to call, only to have it ring and ring, and then finally go to a fast busy signal. So, they are VERY HAPPY to take your money immediately when you order something, and as another reviewer mentioned, very quick to send you emails and texts (over and OVER AGAIN!), but they are no where to be found when you need help. "Returns and Refunds" - NON EXISTENT! That is my one and only experience with online Stein Mart and IT WILL BE ThE LAST!!! Whoever took over the online business - thank you guys for ruining a perfectly wonderful store.

NO customer service. Awful merchandise. I elected to donate my items rather than let them frustrate me more with their no working phone number and only store credit on returns and you have to pay for the shipping. DO NOT BUY FROM STEIN MART!!!

When I went to the returns area it was written that only a store credit will be given and not a refund to your original form of payment …??? What is up with that negative customer service experience ???

I have done nearly all of my shopping at a Florida Steinmart store for over 10 years. I especially liked the designer section at the front of the store. So I was so very sad when they all closed. But then they started selling online and while I wasn’t fond of online shopping, I gave it a go with some leggings and brands that I had worn before. At first that worked fine. NOT NOW!! I saw overpriced items but let them keep sending me occasional texts about sales as they slowly broadened their inventory. Gradually they sent more and more texts. I was getting two a day and if I dared look at the sale, I’d get another immediately as if I’d forgotten that I had looked and said “No”. They remind me every time I close the page that I forgot something or “It looks like you were eyeing this”. YES I looked and decided NO!!! I sent them messages that I loved their store and did not want to block them completely but please stop sending so many texts. One a week would be fine. How did they respond??? No change. I again request to limit nesssges or I will be forced to unsubscribe. Today I had three new messages BEFORE NOON!!! If they don’t unsubscribe me now I will BLOCK them!!! After reading on this site, it’s clear to me that I don’t want to do business with them anymore anyway!!! SR

Simply put when there are this many 1 star reviews it tells one something, sad really I loved Stein Mart for years!! Now they have become a greedy, poor quality online, COMMON retailer. Gone are the days of a true bargain and equally good customer service!!!!

The item I received was clearly mis-sized. It was HUGE. I sent them a photo comparing an identical style top of the same Cocomo brand and medium size (I have several) at the underarms. The measurement of my other tops are 38". This top was 50". It appears they have relabeled plus-size garments with regular tags. While they sent a return label, it's over a week later (the package was sent/received last week) and no acknowledgement has been sent nor refund issued. They will only issue store credit - but I have NOTHING. And I shouldn't have to pay for shipping AGAIN if I re-order. This is ridiculous. Never Again!!

For many years Stein Mart was my go to store for much of my clothing. The online store is NOTHING like the brick and mortar store and carries very little of the merchandise that was once associated with the name Stein Mart. There are few real bargains to be had.

I used to order from Steinmart and no problems, but this time I ordered and the dress was big enough for an elephant. When I started to return it, I learned that they do not credit your card - you only get a store credit, so you have to spend money with them. What a SCAM.

Stein Mart went out of business in Tulsa, so I was happy to find them online! The price has gone up and the quantity has NOT I guess I’m not so happy after ALL!! Won’t be ordering again Stein Mart is gone!

I normally don’t purchase items online but I decided to order a long sweater and leggings. The leggings had holes all over. And it seemed that the holes kept multiplying as the day went on.

Worst online shopping experience ever. First they added a monthly subscription fee that ended up being recurring that even when I asked to have it cancelled I still got charged. The first person I requested to cancel my subscription ignored my request and tried to sell me on the reason to keep it. I had to email several times to ask that it be cancelled before it was due to be taken out of my account again. Then it took over a month to get my merchandise. When my package finally arrived, it wasn't even what I ordered. Sorry Stein Mart, I won't be ordering anything from you again.

Sorry, but this is NOT the SteinMart that I knew!!! They may have the name, but this is no way my “go to” store that I once knew that had nice “affordable” clothes and accessories. Too bad.
