“There was nothing wrong with the contents or the delivery date - it was the packaging that was inadequate..... a padded bag was used rather than a cardboard box, and this was torn right through in two places due to the varied shape and weight of the contents. The box of the Price's Heritage Lavender Candle was totally crushed (good job I hadn't ordered it as a present) while the Baylis & Harding handwash had started "leaking" around the pump. This won't stop me ordering again but I would advise giving consideration to the movement of contents when in transit - they move around in a bag! I'VE SUBSEQUENTLY HAD A VERY PROMPT RESPONSE FROM GRAHAM AT THE GARDEN FRAGRANCE COMPANY - HE AGREED THAT AN INAPPROPRIATE FORM OF PACKAGING HAD UNFORTUNATELY BEEN USED IN THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE AND OFFERED AN IMMEDIATE FULL APOLOGY, TOGETHER WITH DETAILS OF HOW TO MAKE DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE COMPANY (WHICH IS WHAT I SHOULD HAVE DONE) IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT OF A SIMILAR ISSUE ARISING. THIS WAS AN IMPRESSIVE EXAMPLE OF AN EXCELLENT SUPPLIER/CUSTOMER APPROACH, AND I CONTINUE TO RECOMMEND THE COMPANY TO OTHERS.”

“This is the 2nd lot of Lavender diffusers I have bought because the quality of the lavender is excellent. However I notice the bottles are now a little smaller. I did ask if it was possible to get refills as i didnt need more bottles but this is not possible which is disappointing.”

Thank you for your review. Our Cotswold Lavender Diffusers are 75ml which they have always been. The bottles may have changed shape slightly which may have made them appear smaller but the liquid should still be 75ml. We do try to include diffusers that you can purchase refills for but these are very hard to come by as most suppliers do not offer them. We do sell an Inis Energy Diffuser that you can purchase a refill for if that is of interest to you. Thanks again for the feedback. Lisa x

“Excellent products, especially the sale items but I do find your packaging very poor quality: very tiresome to have those little plastic bits in the boxes which are difficult to get rid of.”

Thanks for the review. Over the years we have tested various packaging materials to protect our products in transit - it's fine balance between too much (and too little). Depending on the product and parcel size we use either loose fill, air pockets or shredded cardboard, all of which we recycle from incoming parcels where we can. “I have placed two orders with The Garden Fragrance Company. I liked the range of products on offer. It was easy to order online and delivery was quick and efficient. Both my orders were for things to give as gifts. The first assortment seemed to go down well with the recipients. The more recent goods haven't been handed over yet so I can't comment on that aspect - but they certainly look very nice! Overall I'm pleased with the selection and the service.”

“I have ordered before and been pleased. I've got to admit on this occasion that although the service was still good, the product I ordered wasn't as I expected. I ordered Romance Notepad Folio which is pads and sticky notes. I ordered using the catalogue. The Folio description there does not give measurements. The picture showing the whole Romance range shows the Folio next to the tea towel giving the appearance of being approx 2/3 the size of the tea towel and that is what I assumed the size of the Folio to be. When it came it was much, much smaller although still beautiful. On receipt I Immediately checked on line and there WERE dimensions there clearly showing the proper size. But as I said I ordered from the catalogue and consider that to be misleading. So I was a bit disappointed this time. I will still use the company again but take more care.”

We are very sorry that you were disappointed with the foilo as you expected it to be of a larger size. We take on board your feedback and will certainly look to address this in future catalogues. We will add the dimensions into the next catalogue so as not to cause any further confusion. Some of our montage images in the catalogue are photo-shopped together which is how the error appears to have been made, making the folio look bigger than it actually is.
