I happily booked a trip before all the pandemic issue started growing worldwide. Unfortunately for me , my entire life situation changed and I was no longer eligible to do the Teach abroad program i had picked. My unique situation for the trip was had ABOLUTELY NO administration work done on my profile! Meaning I had NO departure date, NO flight booked, NO living accommodation set up, NO Job arranged for me. SO when I call to inquire about a possible refund I was baffled when they said they are not obligated to list me the administrative work they had done for my package. I even offered to prove to them my situation that I could provided them proof of my job lost and housing lost. I am starting to get back on my feet and the deposit I had with them could greatly improve my situation but no. My first initial call with them I know was a basic sales call as i noticed they didnt even bother to properly write my name in their booking references. The first time i called my booked advisor to let him know of my situation he did not even bother to write an update on my situation , rather he just said to transfer the credit to someone else. I find it saddening as i tried and everyone I inquire had a some sort of dissatifaction from this company, ; either trip accomodations not properly met, issues encountered on trip. And they had no interest in getting further programs from Global.

We pride ourselves on providing a premium service to all of our customers so it saddens us to receive this review. This pandemic has been a tough time on everyone. We’re sorry that it affected you in such a way, but we’re glad that you’re getting back on your feet. Our trip deposits are non-refundable and we make this clear throughout the booking process. When completing your registration for your trip, you would have ticked a box to confirm you understand the deposit is non refundable. This is also outlined in our Terms & Conditions that you must read through, before confirming you agree to them. As mentioned, our Lifetime Deposit Guarantee & Ultimate Corona Booking Flexibility give you the option to put your trip on hold and rearrange your dates around a time that works best for you. You mentioned that you are now no longer eligible for our Teach Trip, so you also have the option to give your deposit to someone else as well. While I know this isn’t the best case scenario for you in terms of a full refund, it is far more than what many travel companies, or any other company for that matter has done in the same situation. There is a lot that happens behind the scenes after a booking is made. This is why we clearly state that our deposits are non refundable. We can assure you that there has been work completed with your trip from the very moment you spoke with one of our Work & Travel Experts on the phone. We hope that in the future your opinion of us changes as we would absolutely love to assist you with your travels when we can. Not for qualified health care professionals for Zanzibar. Housing and location does not meet the generous description as advertised. We were charged $200 US for an unnessasary visa by employees of onsite Global Work and Travel but could never get any proof that this money actually went towards the visa. The hospital placement is designed only for students or health care professionals wanting to "observe". There is no ongoing support or communication once paid. This is particularly concerning considering the at times traumatic experience of working in African public hospitals. Global work and travel employees are not health care professionals and so lack any insight into the actual experience you are paying excessive amount to be facilitated to. Flights and travel insurance are a rip off. Global work and travel are not transparent about costs and so must be contacted directly for quotes. There manipulative, pressured and emotive language is utilised for you to make an on the spot decision. The best thing was living and meeting fellow volunteers.

It is very unfortunate that you had this experience with both us and our overseas partner. Firstly though, I can assure you that the $200 Visa cost is absolutely necessary. Most NGO's will not allow you to even step foot on the premises without it as the fines are so high. Other than that, we have got in touch with our partner to see exactly what went wrong. We rely on our in-country partners to provide updated information and any policy and inclusion changes to the program and volunteers and it is clear there has been a lack of communication. Once again, we apologise that you've had this experience. It goes against our vision and purpose as a company. So i got a working holiday visa for Canada. It was definitely great to have someone guide me through the process as i was only 19 when i applied and had no idea how to do it on my own. But just going to talk to a lawyer would be MUCH cheaper and actually worth your money. They helped set up my flight to Canada and to the location to my first job, but going to a new location, it was apparently not expected of them to help with the travel there, until i asked and was directed to different people. I have not spoken to anyone from Global for over a year and half as i was better at finding a job myself that wasn't at a hotel. My coordinator also changed multiple times throughout the trip as people moved onto different careers. Good for them. Heres a helpful tip, get yourself a visa, SIN number, bank account and phone number. You're welcome i just saved you 2 grand.

Very good service however should have asked me whether I haad the time to talk as he conversaton went on for 1.5hours and I wasn't anticipating a call at all and needed to do other things.

The lady was very forceful to get me to pay a deposit for Thailand when I wasn’t ready. She blamed this by saying I’m not 100% sure if I want to go when I needed time to think rather than just jump into the situation. She booked me on Thailand but I have now seen other places I can go to which wasn’t offered to me basically she decided for me. She spent too long on the phone and it seemed instead of offering me choices she decided for me. She did say that you can’t reserve spots which I think is unreasonable and that the company needs to be more flexible.

We have strict deadlines for our intakes, which are due to things such as visa submission dates & cut offs, season variables, intake capacity for our offices, and even flight limitations for some trips. Depending on the trip, these fill up especially quickly during peak periods, and on a first-in, first-served basis. Our reps were simply trying to save you any disappointment from missing out on a spot. Unfortunately we cannot reserve spots as this is taking away a spot from another potential customer. Misleading and a rip off, while they may set you up for an interview they do not guarantee work because only the employer decides at the end of the day whether they will hire you or not. If you want a working holiday where you pay a lot less and don't get messed around then it is easier and cheaper to sort out do your own research and sort out visas, activities, flights, bank accounts, tax details and accommodation your self. The company has a lawsuit against them for misleading and overcharging customers. Most backpackers have their own job clubs or if they have jobs available such as cleaning and reception and are usually willing to hire guests who are on working holidays. I found a cleaning and reception job at the backpackers I stayed at and global didn't help me to secure it in any way. I found it by myself. Save your money and don't be mislead by global, it's an expensive mistake to make.

Waste of money. They say they will find you a job, but that’s only with their corporate partners. I signed with them and regret it. I’m stuck working at a job I hate and work awkward hours that are opposite my partners. We haven’t been able to adventure or do anything fun since one of us is always working. If you have a brain, you’re much better off without them.

Global Work and Travel Co did not fulfil any of their service promises or responsibilities. * engaged in pushy and misleading phone tactics * disguising their limited partnerships, especially in the locations and industry I was interested in * appeared to show genuine care for the customer, including “tailor making” a package for you, yet jobs sent through had no relevance to what I requested * not at all in assisting with securing a second season job * misleading about “unlimited additional job opportunities” - after my first interview invitation was received, I did not get put in contact with ANY other positions even when contacted the company for my second season * misleading about "ongoing support” * after contacting the company with these concerns, mainly not be put in contact with any relevant jobs (the whole point of the service!!), they said it was my fault because I didn't "get back to them" ... despite numerous emails, calls and resume updates. * GIFTING FOR POSITIVE REVIEWS e.g. I was sent multiple emails saying if I reviewed then I would receive iTunes gift cards Complete rip off and failure of a company. Do not trust.

We provide everyone with the same service as our website, and reps advise from day 1, when you were phoned you were taken through a process to ensure you’re eligible - as there are strict requirements to obtain visas and in order to not waste your time, your Work & Travel Expert simply would have to run through some simple questions to ensure you were eligible. This is the process and exact same steps over 40,000 others have taken to qualify for our programs. Our Arrivals team worked hard to find you those opportunities and it was made clear from the start that you need to be open & flexible to job types and locations. Even so, we can advise that our system shows that you accepted a job opportunity, in your preferred location in your desired field, even before you arrived, as our service promises to do. Your Trip Coordinator sent multiple check-in emails, all of which were not responded to. Sadly, since you did not get in contact, she was unable to keep providing you with further opportunities without first looking after our other travellers who were yet to arrive, mainly out of fairness. Our reviews certainly aren't fake just because they're good, and if you click on the past reviewers, you'll see most have left reviews before for other companies and places too. If you’re referring to our ‘Share the Fun’ campaign where we offered our travellers iTunes gift cards to share their photos and videos or their trips, we do not use these for reviews on third-party sites. Otherwise, we really encourage you to email us about this, as we fear you may be confusing us with another travel company. We want to investigate all aspects of your complaint, as we thrive on feedback to make our trip experiences the best possible, and much better than our competition. Hannah, Ashley and Jasmine were great help with any questions I had, most answered before I even asked. As I haven’t travelled much I’m glad i signed up here, made everything so easy for myself while they took care of the hard backround stuff.

The overall service has been amazing, everyone from global that has helped me on my way have been down to earth like minded people that have been easy to talk to, I've had a great time in the build up for my first experience even know I'm abit anxious about movingto another country for the first time, the staff at global made me realize that it's the best decision I could make and to push on through it such as Cassandra and Ashley and Alex.
