“I took the quiz and a colourist emailed me suggestions which was really helpful! The colour is gorgeous, I may order one shade lighter but it’s covered my greys beautifully and I’m so happy with the how much money I’m saving and that I can touch up my own hair as needed. So happy! Leanna Mcneil”

“Loving The Shade, have used it a couple of times now and referred family and friends who love it too. The home salon kit is great with the mixing bowl and four clips however the cape could be longer especially if your hair is longer than a bob or shoulder length. I have sensitive skin and react to lots of things but haven’t had any issues with The Shade at all. Ash Brown is my go to colour, not too dark or light and no brassy tones! 😊”

Hi Melanie, We have an Online Colour Consultation and a team of colourists who can give you personalised colourist advise. I can see that you didn't use either of these services. Dark Ash Blonde is a cool-based colour, it has zero warm tones. Any warmth you are seeing is natural warmth which is in excess to the warmth that the cool tones can balance. There are a number of reasons why you would have received a warm result including having existing colour pigments in your hair and not removing the colour pigments prior to lightening, and/or attempting to lighten by too many levels. “I used the pigment colour remover on some build-up from previous semi-permanent dye. It did a good job of bringing out the old pigment, but didn't quite get all of it. Unfortunately the toner I bought for afterwards was too light for my hair and didn't really work. Will be trying again with the next colour level down!”

“Second time I've purchade hair colour - went for a slightly different shade. Once again, was excellent, easy to use, smells nice, great colour and coverage. I'd always used L'Oreal Castings as my go to as it was not permament and suited me, but after trying The Shade I'll be using their colours now for sure. I also purchased a shampoo and conditioner, which are both excellent.”

“I have been colouring my hair since I was fifteen, I have also paid NZ$400-NZ$600 to sit in the salon for 5 hours having a colour applied. So fed up with this I stripped the colour and allowed my natural grey to shine through during all of the Covid "stuff". Although I was complimented on my natural grey/white colour it never felt like ME so I started to do a bit of research as I prefer a temporary colour which fades so the grey root growth is not so obvious over the 6 weeks, and there are virtually no colours that give this option (unless I want bright pink, purple or blue hair!) Then I found The Shade which offers different levels of colour depending on what you want so I went with volume 5 as a one off first-liked the colour but didnt quite cover those pesky grey roots so chnaged it to Volume 10 as a subscription and it is great-so natural looking and a good friend of mine recently said dont ever change that hair colour it is so perfect for you. My hair feels so much softer, also have scalp psoriasis and there is no stinging/burning or irritation at all. Since finding The Shade I am much more confident in getting a consistently great colour at home and have gone on to purchase the peppermint shampoo, leave in curl cream (I love the smell and texture without stickiness) and protect and perfect spray. I have not been disappointed with any of the products and my hair is in the best condition it has even been in. Take the chance you will not regret it :)”

“Love the auto delivery that takes hassle off my shopping. Lovely smell, not toxic. Doesn’t hurt my scalp and today I even left it for 50 minutes and the results are amazing 🤩 I’m trying now different shade to see how this one will work with my grey hair that are started to coming out.
