“I purchased the shade Torino Golden Blond 8.3. Found the application quite easy though a bit more required to my usual shop bought product but this probably reflects the quality of this product. The colour went on easily and I loved that there was no ammonia smell. After washing and drying my hair, I was happy with the colour although it seemed to have a slight red tinge to it. This may be because it was covering over a previous colour so will see how it goes next time. I also am curious to see how well the colour lasts or if it fades like shop bought brands. My hair was beautifully soft and shiny after washing and overall I’m happy with this product. Would rather wait and see how well this product last over time before writing a review but so far am very happy.”

“I love The Shade! It's easy and quick to use, it looks and feels great; all that without nasty chemicals and animal cruelty! The only improvement could be to have sachets made from compostable material or offer refill options. Also, half-amount indicators would be great if you only need half the amount for shorter hair or touch-ups. Thank you for a great product!”

“Hair colour was so rich and natural looking. Easy to apply at home and loved that you supplied everything. It was a long process to first soften my colour resistant roots. Unfortunately for me it still didn’t colour well and I had patches of grey.”

“I like the product. The amounts given are just slightly too small for me. Not enough to use the double pack without wasting a lot so I make it work with singles. I wish they gave the option of a reusable squeeze bottle applicator and brush. The bowl and brush is a mess and I need help to get a decent application. It would be nice to have a more practical option for those with longer hair. I ended up finding a squeeze bottle on my own, its so much quicker.”

“The colour is great and it's lovely getting it delivered so I don't have to think about it. However it's a shame there isn't an option to get a root touch up colour for in between (much needed for resistant greys). I hope they do this soon as other hair colour subscriptions do so I am thinking about switching.”

“Very satisfied with how quickly my first order arrived and then subsequent automatic orders arriving. I am around 90% grey and I’m still trying to work on getting my colour right. Straight after colouring I’m a wee bit purple, I need something to tone done the gold that my natural colour throws, but being purple for a few washes isn’t pleasant. Grey coverage is ok but would like better.”

“SORRENTO - LIGHT ASH BLONDE I really liked the introduction pack, it came with everything I needed to dye my hair at home. The included shampoo and conditioner was exceptional, my hair felt so soft! Unfortunately the colour came out more golden blonde than ash. Overall it was okay just not the end result I was expecting.”

“Starter kit too large for post box, but following deliveries good. All tools good quality except clips which are useless. Application brush bit annoying d/t hook on end, so difficult to use for sectioning; hook for frosting cap? Can't use prepping oil d/t severe reaction. Recommended processing time too long for my hair; damaging. But, even halving the time is covering white hair; so good. Overall, decent and convenient to have regular deliveries.”

“Like the color but had to mix 2 tubes to get the color I needed. I did the bleach wash and developer but it still didn’t cover the grey roots enough.”

“The colour is vibrant on the area where I put the developer which was on the greys. So the colour was vibrant at the roots. The colour was uneven. I have washed it once since dying. I like the uneven colour and the colour has reduced on the roots. The developer really works well but I think it would have been a more even colour if I didn't put the developer on the greys, but the colour wouldn't have been as vibrant as there is not much colour on the rest of the hair, which was a coloured dark blonde. The kit and hair products were easy to use. I have medium length hair, it's curly but thin so I had a lot of product left, about half, so a waste. would have been good if they came in bottles like previous products I have used and I use just the amount I need.”

“Have loved my experience with The Shade. I use the Light Ash Brown shade and seems to be the most natural colour I’ve been able to find in a long time - it’s still a little darker than my natural colour (my goal) but the lighter shades looks too light - it would be good to have something in between? The colour doesn’t start to fade until about 3-4 weeks and covers my grey well until this time. My hair still seems to be in good condition so definitely feels salon worthy.”
