“I have been using The Shade for couple of years now! As I was a hairdresser in my younger life I used many different brands of hair colour however, this is the best, most gentle product I have ever used and I am complemented on my colour and shine constantly! Would never change as to go grey is not on my agenda!”

“I usually colour my hair at home so I know what is required. I loved using this product especially using the little set that came with it. It was very easy to use and the best part was that it felt so natural compared to other products - no strong smells! My hair felt great afterwards too. At first I thought it came out darker than normal but I waited a couple of weeks and it's back to what I am after. Will definitely be using it again :)”

“I purchased the shade Torino Golden Blond 8.3. Found the application quite easy though a bit more required to my usual shop bought product but this probably reflects the quality of this product. The colour went on easily and I loved that there was no ammonia smell. After washing and drying my hair, I was happy with the colour although it seemed to have a slight red tinge to it. This may be because it was covering over a previous colour so will see how it goes next time. I also am curious to see how well the colour lasts or if it fades like shop bought brands. My hair was beautifully soft and shiny after washing and overall I’m happy with this product. Would rather wait and see how well this product last over time before writing a review but so far am very happy.”

“The Shade is the best DIY hair colour product I ever used. My hair is fine with some grey hair showing up. Their hair colour last and you be amazed how simple the instructions are. Bonus, their shampoo and conditioner are great products too.”

“The starter kit the colour came with was very great and I hope to get heaps of use out of it, the package arrived quickly and the instructions were clear. I got the dark brown colour which turned out to be a great neutral tone on my olive skin. I've only had it in for a week so far but there has been minimal colour transfer on my pillow the first night and it hasn't visibly washed out in the shower since. I have curly hair and wanted to switch to an ammonia free dye so it doesn't destroy my curl pattern and this is working well so far, my hair holds the curls better with dye in it and they're not a limp frizzy mess! I'm waiting to see how long the colour lasts before deciding if I want to repurchase it.”

Hi Joanne, It is harder when there are two colours in your hair, and lightening processes will dry your hair, as mentioned in our earlier communications. We recommend that colour changes of more than two colour levels should be done in a salon, and we don't recommend repeated lightening processes, as they will damage your hair. “A friend got me into this and I was sceptical, on quality and getting the right colour. Wow was I surprised. I selected the PERFECT colour, the price is cheap and the colour lasts. “It has been over 3 weeks since I first colored my hair using The Shade. The color has started vibrant and fresh, and the condition of my hair has stayed shiny and healthy, which is different to the supermarket dyes that I have been using for years. Really happy with the result so far. I also love the convenience of having regular deliveries so I don't need to remember to purchase each month!!”

“I love this product so much. Most hair dye leaves my hair dead and dry, but the shade has left my hair feeling soft and amazing. The shampoo and conditioner provided is lovely.
