“Have tried multiple colours and have overall been disappointed. A plus is the dye doesn't irritate my scalp but the colour result has never met my expectations. Will not purchase again.”

“This service is fantastic. The online colourist consultant have me all the advice I needed for choosing the right shade and extra tips for getting the colouring effect I wanted. The high quality products arrived beautifully packaged. Everything worked perfectly, my hair looks and feels great. This was better than going into a salon. I'll be keeping my subscription for sure!”

“I like the product. The amounts given are just slightly too small for me. Not enough to use the double pack without wasting a lot so I make it work with singles. I wish they gave the option of a reusable squeeze bottle applicator and brush. The bowl and brush is a mess and I need help to get a decent application. It would be nice to have a more practical option for those with longer hair. I ended up finding a squeeze bottle on my own, its so much quicker.”

“Highly recommend trying the shade. The quality is great, it makes my hair shiny and the conditioner is amazing. I actually prefer my hair now than when I had it dyed at the salon. Customer service is fab. I have changed my order a few times and they are always so quick to respond. The colour consults are very helpful too. One thing I will say is to take the advice that the shade give to try one shade lighter than you are aiming for as I feel like the results come out slightly darker than expected”

“I have recently finished chemotherapy where I lost all of my hair. So I have been looking for a very gentle, Australian made product that is suitable for the new growth that I have. The Shade did not disappoint. My hair is really soft and no longer a mix of white (common after chemo) and brown.”

“The colour is great and it's lovely getting it delivered so I don't have to think about it. However it's a shame there isn't an option to get a root touch up colour for in between (much needed for resistant greys). I hope they do this soon as other hair colour subscriptions do so I am thinking about switching.”

“The colour is ok - a bigger selection in the strawberry blonde/titian range would be appreciated. One pack is generous enough for longer hair so don't believe the upsell for the additional colour and developer. The free kit isn't worth the money. The clips have no gripping power for fine hair and the brush is next to useless. All up, quite a bit about this purchase proved to be a disappointment. Many supermarket brands perform as well and are far cheaper. I'll persist with one more kit before making a final decision.”

“Very satisfied with how quickly my first order arrived and then subsequent automatic orders arriving. I am around 90% grey and I’m still trying to work on getting my colour right. Straight after colouring I’m a wee bit purple, I need something to tone done the gold that my natural colour throws, but being purple for a few washes isn’t pleasant. Grey coverage is ok but would like better.”

“I absolutely adore The Shade. The cute packaging and all it’s useful contents. So thoughtful! I bleached my hair first, following your advice and I liked it apart from the grey/whites!!
