“Would never order off line again. Had confirmation that items had been sent out but they never arrived. To be told they had been returned when I rang up. Was told they would be posted again asap, only to receive an email to say they were out of stock! Emailed in to ask for a refund as was 5 days before Christmas. Refund as honoured. Defeats the object of shopping online!”

“Thought delivery would have been slightly quicker, but it was Christmas, so probably busy. An update of when it would be delivered would have been helpful. I was not sure if the order had gone through. Packed well. Overall happy.”

“Ordered items for Christmas with standard delivery of about 5 working days. When they didn't arrive I decided to check where they were only to find out that some items in my order were out of stock and TJ Hughes hadn't told me! I then emailed them to cancel the order and low and behold, they have the items and can send them. No one apologised or even replied to my email, they simply sent the order. Would i buy from them again? No. Would I recommend them? No. I could have bought the items for alternative online providers and that is what I will do next time.”

“After ordering 3 items which were Christmas presents, approximately 3 weeks later 2 items eventually arrived, but were smashed and only when I enquired (communication is by email only, which is time consuming and annoying!!), I was told the third item was out of stock!!! Even though I have emailed many times, and been told I am due a refund, the funds have not yet been credited to my PayPal account and I have had to raise a dispute!! It's very frustrating to have to constantly enquire and ask - not good customer service and inadequate systems in place!”
