“Very poor customer service. The gift set was advertised as 50ml perfume, when it arrived it was a 30ml. After numerous phone calls passed to various departments an email address was given. Unsatisfactory answer given, (sorry, we have advised our web team to change the description), I again emailed and was offered £5 to be added to my account. As I bought SIX gift sets, I was 120ml perfume short! So I don't think £5 covers it. However, at the time of email/correspondence I was nursing my mam with terminal cancer a 100 miles away from home. Quite frankly I would not recommend using TJHughes to anyone.”

“Bought this goody grabber for my granddaughter. She loves it! Hasn't stopped playing with it since Christmas Day. Only negative is it plays a tune when you are using it and this gets a bit annoying when you've heard it all day. Shame the sound can't be turned off!”

“My Akai DVD player is great. Very easy to order by click and collect on-line. However, although I was updated there was no confirmation that it was in-store. I went in by chance t see if it had arrived after 3 days of ordering But my goodness me how frustrating the collection procedure was. Join a long queue at pay desk; tannoy for a colleague to report; waiting 25 minutes just to hand over details; another 10 minutes for my order to be brought out. Left hand didn't know what right hand was doing. Never again. A new customer opportunity I know, but perhaps if the click and collect procedure operated by M&S and Debenhams was used by TJ then I would certainly use it. Never again after this experience. Oh and staff need to smile in the Walsall branch”

“Click and collect at TJs is a joke i ordered a cleaner it is in stock at my local store but i have to wait for it to be delivered from Liverpool and have been charged delivery, the whole point of click and collect is free delivery,information at the check out process is almost nil. My first and last purchase.”

“Visited Newcastle store on Boxind day spotted a little plastic type light up Angel only one on shelf no batteries in it bottom of battery holder was missing .I liked the little Angel so asked where they were to be told that was the only one left ex display . Asked the assistant who was pleasant enough if I could buy it and how much it would be .I was told no Xmas stock was to be reduced and she guessed the price was probably! £6.99. I work at Marks and Spencer myself where customer service is of the utmost priority and would not guess a product price. I challenged the price so the assistant went to the till to check thro,Xmas products to discover it was only £ 4.99. I was still interested in purchasing the item knowing it would probably get thrown away once Xmas came of floor.i asked if she could speak to a manager to see if it could be reduced after all it was ex display broken with no batteries and no idea what batteries would fit it.She then rang a mananger called John to be asked how much the original,price was. Drum roll please John the Scrooge knocked 49 pence off .I still bought it but will never ever shop at Hughes again !!!!Plus on leaving the store another manager give me a filthy look as I dropped it into my handbag. I explained I had just bought it at a greatly reduced price!,,,,,,'!!!!!!!!!and perhaps they need a lesson customer always comes first she totally ignored me and walked away.”

“First time i have used TJ Hughes online but won't be the last. I was amazed it only took a few days for my parcel to arrive and even better the price was cheaper than the high street shops. So much better shopping online especially if you have mobility problems. Can't wait to see what is in the sales. Kath”

“Do not buy from this site. I ordered goods on the 23rd Nov only received 1 of the five items ordered. Have e-mailed ,made numerous phone calls still have not got the 4 bottles of perfume which were to be Christmas presents. Spoken several times to customer services who keep promising they will send the goods. Don' t suppose I will have any joy with the money either. Complete bah humbug site.”

“They have very bad website. I have never seen such a difficult web site. The stock are low. The refund process are taking more than 2 weeks although they do a mistake such as (damaged delivery and unable to replace it). I did not get my money back yet, but they put the same items to the stock. Very bad customer service. If i do not ask a questions, i will not receive any update about my order.”

“I placed on order on 29th November, no confirmation received and my order hadn't been received but the money was taken. It's impossible to make any contact to discuss. Two emails sent and no reply”
