“The technique is very easy; but the practice of getting the mind to settle is difficult. After 3 months of twice-daily meditation, I feel quite discouraged---but refuse to give up.”
Hi Gale,
The TM technique is meant to be an effortless practice, so there's no need to settle the mind. We suggest scheduling a free follow-up with your TM teacher to discuss your experience and fine tune your practice so that it's truly easy and more enjoyable for you :)
“The practice has helped me to relax and find a new calmness, even in stressful situations. I need to be sure to make the time to get in two meditations a day but I feel great when I am able to do so. Thank you!”
“Love TM practice, so much calmer, mentally clearer & focused with tons more energy! I’m in week 3 & will continue to make this a lifelong daily practice!!! Best thing ever to rewire your nervous system 🌟”
“It's fine... but not much different than the meditation I was doing before... only difference is, that is a mantra meditation. Not quite sure it's worth the money... sorry.”
Other meditations generally involve some kind of observation or concentration, whereas the TM technique doesn’t involve any focused attention or observation of experience. It’s a mantra-based meditation that naturally results in self-transcending. If you are finding your TM practice to be similar to other techniques we suggest scheduling a free follow-up with your TM teachers to fine tune your practice so it's more enjoyable and beneficial :)
“Life changing. Has been an integral part of recovering from anxiety and panic. An unexpected bonus is that I’m more effective at work and more present at home. Colleagues have commented how “calm” I now am. One of the best methods of self improvement I’ve ever encountered.”
