I posted a review about universal gadgets and how they sold me a piece of junk dressed as an iPhone. After so called Trustpilot removed the review, I sent all the necessary documents to both Trustpilot and Universal Gadgets that proved beyond any reasonable doubt that my review was both genuine and legal. Trustpilot still refused to reinstate the review. Now, anything I see advertised with an approval by Trustpilot, makes me want to throw up. I know this is just hearsay, but several people have told me they had similar problems with this company. One person told me that Trustpilot removes negative reviews at the request of the company that pays them for the privilege. This company needs to be investigated by trading standards, and the more people who complain, will make this happen.

We paid a lot of money for very poor results. When we decided to cancel, we followed their instructions and made our final payment, but then the account rep. left and they suddenly wanted to continue charging us even after we had removed the widgets from our site. Stay away from this company.

Twice I have tried to post an honest review about poor customer service and bad companies that take you money and don't delivery the goods. On both occasions trust pilot have allowed the companies in question to remove my reviews. What is the point? If honest reviews can be removed by the company that you are complaining about there is no point what so ever in trust pilot existing, just wasting yet more of my time. Beggars belief! A review site that won't post reviews, poor to say the least.

In my opinion, Trustpilot are a bunch of thieves, that are extremely focused on pleasing their paying (= companies) customers, by e.g. removing bad (and honest) reviewers (= consumers) opinions. Trustpilot cannot be trusted. I've had so bad experiences with "customer service", that I decided to close my account and stop reviewing for Trustpilot - because the reviews and customer service, cannot be trusted, at all.

WHAT THIS COMPANY IS DOING IS ILLEGAL. They called my company to sell their premium package and we rejected them. Afterwards, they gave us a 7-star rating for our company on their page, even though all the reviews are 8-10 stars. Apparently you can boost your company's ratings by paying them...

I'm a Merchant and Trustpilot is constantly removing reviews from our Trustpilot account/page - especially since we have rejected their offer for a premium package!

I've been being spammed repeatedly by Veem, an online payment service. I posted a review on Trustpilot as I don't think that any company that has to be stoop to spamming is trustworthy. Trustpilot won't allow the review as I'm not a business customer of Veem's. Since I can't produce proof I'm a customer, I can't complain about the spamming.

I submitted a reference for a hotel-booking service online. The reference was online for a few days, until it was taken down based on a "complicance" complaint. I was told to send in an invoice from the company that would serve as a proof that I was a legit customer. Not only did the original receipt I got from the company get declined multiple times, but also does trustpilot *not* require this if you want to leave a false-positive review. Trustpilot may thus be considered a scam.

Trustpilot has been hounding my staff for months trying to add our company to their growing list of "advertisers". Their promise and premise seems to be that you can "control" the "quality" of the reviews placed against your business. As a business that's been operating for over 20 years, I would rather allow guests and clients to provide their honest reviews on Google or Yelp - both of which allow my company to respond to reviews. In my opinion, any company that uses a service like Trustpilot to massage its review scores is unethical and should be avoided at all costs.

The removed negative reviews which are genuine. Literally a useless website that protects rogue traders.

I posted a negative review of LCN.com. Last year they said i was not a customer. I pointed out all my 10 plus domains are DNS linked with my address with their systems. Still after i prove i am a client of LCN.com they have removed last year & this years review. LCN.com use CENSORSHIP to stop me sending to my own e-mail address saying it is spam, when they themselves send mail from their domain to me on payment page etc. So if a review site only uses POSITIVE feedback then its an ADVERT not a REVIEW site. SHAME on them for only working for companies and not the REAL CUSTOMERS.

As others reported, Trustpilot removed a review of a poor purchasing experience then ran me in circles trying to get it reposted.

Trust pilot is horrible. I'm trying to get money. First trust pilot are you I'm using this website and I don't really like it and they emailed me oh I heard you guys got a payout for Matt by yet the midline of the company I'm using. And right now I'm asleep you can try to read this I'm using voice typing because I honestly do not even want to waste my time of my data type of theirs so if you have trouble reading it or something it's because I'm voice typing. There might be a little or a lot where in the states and I'm reading it over I'm just explaining trust pilot is dumb they're trying to make me come not come not come but a bright reviews for these companies that I use and they're not giving me one cent I know that there are other apps in there that you can actually write an honest review and get some coins(money)

I would rate zero if possible. The site I used to book a hotel I booked thru frontdesk/choicehotels was given 5 stars from Trustpilot. The hotel charge to frontdesk (or hotelsclick or hotelbooking) was $111.40. The charge to me was $169.48. An overcharge of $58.08, more than 50%, is NOT trustworthy.

I agree with the comments below they just do what big company says. Good example see the google reviews vs trust pilot reviews. it is impossible to have so many stars from trust pilot and very poor results from Google to travel trolley. In fact my review on Travel trolley completely removed by trust pilot. I would say do-not-trust-pilot?

TRUSTPILOT WILL JUST DO WHAT THEY ARE TOLD BY BIG COMPANIES, NOT TO BE TRUSTED. THEY WILL WITHDRAW GENUINE REVIEWS ABOUT BED COMPANIES JUST TO MAKE A FEW POUNDS. SHAME ON YOU TRUSTPILOT

Trustpilot is all about money. Companies pay Trustpilot to have their services reviewed. These companies also have the ability to misuse the review system to maintain their high star rating. Any complaints to Trustpilot are replied to with a generic reply from their compliance dept. I would say to any potential shoppers, do not trust Trustpilot reviews. I complained about a certain company and the so called investigation is still ongoing a month later. Trustpilot is a multi million pound business. Before you buy anything have a read of all the review sites you can find. Also read the Guardian newspaper expose on fake reviews. An interesting read.
