Trustpilot claims to be about "customer voice" when in fact it is the opposite. Their 'compliance' team actively works with the companies being reviewed to remove negative statements for being "defamatory", even if everything stated is true. When it's the customer's word versus a company, Trustpilot sides with the company.

Wrote a review for justcarbatteries.co.uk, basically they committed fraud calling me a liar so they didnt have to pay a return postage, but trustpilot removed my review asking for proof of purchase which i duly supplied. still they would not reinstate my review unless i then edited out words like " they lied ” and "call their customers liars". trustpilot said this was defamation of character and that my review is not a true description of my buying experience? so basically now trustpilot and justcarbatteries are both calling me a liar! this is defamation of my character and i wish to sue both companies for libel and slander, i have evidence if there are any lawyers out there wanting a percentage? save me going through small claims. to add insult to injury justcarbatteries have obviously penned their own reviews (the only positive ones on the site i might add). having highlighted this to trustpilot these fraudulent reviews remain on the site. other people have complained about this, negative reviewers are being hassled to remove their reviews when the fake and real positive ones remain. DO NOT USE TRUSTPILOT OR JUSTCARBATTERIES.CO.UK

www.trustpilot.com I left a review about L.V car insurance and I included the words racist and liar. They removed the review as they said I could not use those words. I removed those words but they still would not publish my review. This is not an independent review site....

Trustpilot is run by internet bullies. I naively listed my site with them for the free service, and within a couple days realized my mistake, but they wouldn't remove my site. Their supposed manager ignored my e-mail until I ended up having to get clients to review my site so it wouldn't look bad having no reviews. Then the supposed manager replied, gloating about how someone had searched my site and that it would have been listed anyway. Who wants a "manager" who makes such huge and wrong assumptions running their company? To have a manager who behaves in this way, TrustPilot must be owned by bullies since they hire these people! I feel harassed by them and it isn't stopping. People need to stop leaving reviews on their site to end this madness.

They pull honest and accurate bad reviews off their website for their fee paying customers. Trustpilot is a total scam and all reviews should be ignored. Avoid MK Diagnostics in Milton Keynes as they are scam artists and crooks - charging for unnecessary work and also charging for work that was never done!!! Both Trustpilot and MK Diagnostics are terrible. Avoid at all costs.

I had a very suspect experience with a company called smartbuyglasses UK. Basically after taking payment they sent an email asking for a scan of my passport or to pay again using paypal after which they would then refund my payment. I told my story on trustpilot and within 24 hours my review had been pulled and I was asked for evidence of purchase. I sent evidence and two an a half days later they have done nothing about re-instating my review, nor have they contacted me at all. Clearly they are filtering out the bad reviews for their paying customers. Steer clear of smartbuyglasses and anything bearing the trustpilot verification.

I used Rightio (or tried to) they let me down twice big time. I was invited to do a review for Trust Pilot and then they deleted my review because although Rightio had promised to arrive for 2 appointments and did not turn up (wasting 5 hours of my time and costing me 50 miles of petrol money because I hadn't paid them I was not able to leave a review after all. Waste of time. Likewise a scam. There were so many deleted reviews it just can't be balanced. They need taking off the internet. Don't rely on their reviews.

Trustpilot is a total scam. I made a purchase that went Poorly. I left a review at Trustpilot. A MONTH later I got an email that my review had been pulled for Violating Guidelines? Why a month later??? I told I must provide proof of purchase. Hmmm positive reviews are not challenged and proof of purchase required. How do you think this would affect the rating system if a after a month every negative review was removed until proof of purchase was provided. But the positive review were posted unsubstantiated. When you look at the review for the company I purchase from they are all polarized. Either 5 Star one sentence generic review or 1 Star with details about the purchase and interaction with the company and why it went bad. If you research Trustpilot you will find that they have been investigated and found to be posting fake reviews written and paid for by professional reviews in foreign countries. Companies like this will ruin consumers trust in buying online.

I wrote a perfectly correct review on trustpilot about a company I purchased from. The review I gave was a one star. It was taken off trustpilot at the companies request . This is not acceptable.

These guys business model is to capture bad reviews and then to make you sign up to dilute the bad reviews with good reviews that you control. It's modern day blackmail. Customer service is awful. 7 day response time and copy and paste responses. Don't trust the reviews good or bad.

I left a negative feedback on Trustpilot about Skinade because it had completely ruined my complexion. The review was removed and Trustpilot requested proof of purchase, which I provided. They sent me an email saying that my review is back on their website, which is a lie as it is not. They are now ignoring my emails. They are clearly biased.

Same as all the negative reviews here. Perhaps they are on the payroll of these retail stores!

I recently left a review on trustpilot. Of the five or so reviews I have ever left on the site (all for totally different types of companies) this was the only one that didn't get five stars. A month later I received an email stating that the review had been pulled because it was lacking proof of purchase. I emailed a screenshot showing a dated bank statement entry with a payment to the company concerned. Trustpilot said this was not acceptable. They wanted the original receipt which I had permanently deleted weeks before. After trawling through my browser history I got lucky and found the parcel tracking page. This shows the company name, parcel reference, tracking reference and delivery confirmed status. I sent Trustpilot a screenshot. They said this was unacceptable as, to put it in their words, it did not prove I was 'the person who had the buying experience' and did not show my personal details. I have offered to send them a copy of my passport and council tax bill as evidence of my name and address. This, together with the parcel reference, would allow them to confirm with the company that the purchase details tied up. They say this is unacceptable and will be archiving my review if I can't come up with the original receipt (deleted) or account details from the company website (there aren't any as registration wasn't required). This has been going on for weeks now and its clear to me that Trustpilot are not interested in listening to reason and my opinion is that their policies and blinkered practices only assist companies in weeding out reviews that they don't like and making it very difficult or even impossible to get honest reviews reinstated even when offered perfectly acceptable evidence. I have absolutely no confidence in the integrity or reliability of the scores and reviews found on Trustpilot any more and have deleted my previous reviews from the site, apart from the one in question which no doubt they will be deleting soon.

It seems TrustPilot is filtering reviews and preventing negative ratings to be published for some companies. At least this is my experience with them. I have posted a very negative review for Interior Addict, a furniture business. They took it down with the comment it was violating the terms and condition of the website. The day after I received a call from Interior Addict which apologised for the issues I had with them. They clearly had been given a copy of my review. I have tried twice to post another review but they haven't published it.
