After looking at all these reviews I totally understand why this company is full of sh**. I will never rent from this company ever again or recommend anyone to rent from this company. The host is trying to put a claim against me and she is not showing me proof that the damage happened in my possession. Before picking up the car it was in her possession, so who’s to say that the damages happened while in her possession. I’ve asked multiple times not only from the host but also from Turo show me pictures prior to my trip. If the damage happened in my possession I have no problem fixing this issue but if the host whited out the side where the damages is placed how can I tell if the damage was there or not. Everyone is going around my request, the Host and Turo. They are showing me pictures when the car when in the Host possession before I picked up the car, in between that time frame anything could have happened while the car was in her possession.

Our parents rented a car from turo and got a flat tire from a nail in the road. The owner charged them to replace it costing them several hundred dollars. The car was in the shop the entire day and so they also lost out on the cost of the rental for the day. After what happened to them Turo has lost several future customers, very disappointed they would not absorb the cost of this incident or have an insurance policy that is a reasonable cost for a 2 day rental that would cover things like this.

My car worked perfectly fine and now i need a new engine. Turo claims they don't handle claims on the mechanical end because basically “the owner must've mishandled the vehicle” now im -$3500 for damages. What an experience

Man who picked us up had clearly been smoking in the car, had terrible BO and had his buttcrack completely exposed when he stood up which meant I had to drive the whole trip on the remnants of that. I didn’t raise a stink, but when I returned the car they charged me $154 cleaning fee because there was some sand on the back mats. He said it took him 2 hours to clean…please ugh. That would have been like me shoveling sand in the back seat and it was literally the remnants of some sand that didn’t come off at the beach. I dropped it off early with a full tank. He left me a 5 star review so the charge was a terrible surprise. Never using Turo again.

Horrible. Rented a car from 'Snardy' in Orlando, Genesis G80, plane landed and he didn't answer my text for a half hour. After the trip he claimed I smoked in the car, I never smoked a day in my life, any smoke was there before I had it or he planted it. Read the other reviews, this isn't the only time scams like this happened with them. When I complained about the $275 cleaning fee Turo banned me. Good riddance. Have never had an issue like this in 40 years of business travel. Another shady host tried to get me to send her a $300 'security deposit' by Zelle, completely against Turo rules. If you like high end cars, just ask a real rental company in bigger cities if they have them, they often do and will negotiate on price, without the fraud, drama, and harrassment I experienced with Turo.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced aside from Robinhood. They do not listen, do not read the issues at hand, they respond from a general alias and are nearly impossible to reach by phone. Their call line is a joke and will hang up on you at any moment. DO NOT WORK WITH TURO. They take a huge fee and provide almost no assistance. Their timeline for damage reports are too short and they do not look at pre and post pictures of your car.

Turo offers an insurance program when renting out through them which is paid for by keeping a percentage of rental income. They claim their 40% income.share covers wear & tear of the exterior. However they refuse to honor claims of wear & tear without an excessive burden of proof of when the damage occurred. The coverage is to include scratches smaller than 3 inches in length and yet they require photographic evidence of a lack of the scratch before it occurred, which is a nearly impossible record to produce. Essentially they constructed a scam to build confidence in sharing 100s or 1000s of dollars of income that you would not otherwise choose to share if you k ew they had no intention of actually providing the wear & tear coverage they're promising.

I treated this like any other rental. I was slapped with a surprise $165 cleaning fee a week later. They say that's the standard fee but it was not mentioned earlier. That made this far more expensive than a conventional rental, where the cleaning is included, and for far less hassle. I used Turo once and I never will again.

I rented a jeep compass from Thomas in Provo Utah and I received a $165 additional cleaning charge the day after I returned the vehicle for a small amount of pet hair. I explained we did not have a pet in the vehicle at anytime. The pictures showed a couple random hairs which looked like it could have been on someone's clothes but not from a pet inside the vehicle. Then he said there were paw prints on the seat but none of the pictures show evidence of paw prints. Turo sided with the host which is unfortunate and a bad business decision as you could clearly see in the pictures the pet hair was not excessive We even wiped the floor mats down with wipes because they were a little muddy.

Rented from a super host (or whatever they are called). Didn’t respond to texts and voicemail was full. Finally arrived 45 minutes late. It’s a lottery as to what kind of experience you are going to have - you can’t know if a renter is good or not because the ratings are not valid.

One star is too much for this company! They claim they do not discriminate age yet they want to charge a 30 fee per day for people 21-26 yrs old? But of course if you live any where out side of the US they old charge to 25 yrs old. So clearly this has a serious oder of bs! I will never use Turo because I feel that they are being unruly and unfair!

I started renting my car on Turo, one of my guests did front end damage to my SUV. Turo said they paid me out to my Venmo but it was never received I have contacted customer support in many ways about my issue and was told the payment can't be reissued I would have to contact Venmo. After that long drawn out process with Venmo I was told nothing had been deposited. Not only was left with a damaged vehicle but Turo never paid for me to have the repairs done to my vehicle. Don't rent on Turo unless you can pay out of pocket for damages

The car owner claimed I was smoking weed in the car and their proof was a picture of a twig. A literal twig. I have never touched a cigarette in my life let alone smoke weed. Had to pay a 250 dollar fine and I was banned from the app.

We rented a car in Honolulu, hi, actually had to set up three different cars to get a car. The first host canceled our trip approximately a little over a week before our trip. The n CR host canceled our trip after wet we’re to have already picked up our car. We were able to get the third vehicle approximately 3 hours after we were to have gotten our car. We missed our reservations due to the second host not getting in contact with us. We wasted our last morning of vacation trying to get the last vehicle reserved. We were unable to leave a review on the second host because that host canceled our reservation. I feel you should be able to leave a review as this host still has a 5 star rating. Not sure we would use Turo again. To get another rental took time & again we had submit license etc, why we had already done this for 2 far led reservations in the past week and a half.

My first two rental experiences were excellent. Unfortunately my most recent trip ended up being so regrettable because of the harassing and stalking nature of the host. She literally ruined my weekend as well as my family's. The host had the dashcam turned on and was set on record for the entire weekend which felt incredibly invasive, then there were her nonstop messages some of them starting at 4:25 am on a Saturday morning! At one point the car would not start because of a software update so I was stranded for two hours waiting to take my son to the ER, there were many other problems but her behavior was the worst of it. I am a 49 year old wife and mom with 30 years of clean driving history. I did report everything to Turo and they did nothing at all. I won't be using them anymore.

BEWARE. I was charged a $250 smoking fee when I am a non-smoker. No evidence, no appeal, customer service informed me this was "fair", decision was final and revoked my account, so you cannot even leave a bad review of the host to warn others. My advice? DONT RISK IT. A DISHONEST HOST HAS ALL THE POWER WITH THIS SERVICE.

Rented through Turo for the first time. Car was confirmed and paid for a month before my trip. But texting the host the day before I didn't get a response. So I called the contact number. Turns out to be a google phone service number. Starting to seem dodgy. Sure enough, when I arrive at the destination airport, no host, no car, no response to any of my messages. I call Turo to cancel and they start to argue with me that the rental already started (my flight was 30 minutes late). After I objected loudly they did agree to refund me, but now I was stranded. Then, when I tried to leave a review, I realized because the trip was cancelled, you can't leave a review. So their reviews are completely biased: there's no way to lower the reputation of hosts that just leave guests in the lurch. This app is a complete scam. Just use an ordinary rental company. Here's hoping their IPO tanks before their scumbag execs get to cash out.

After several great experiences with Turo rentals, a host planted a a marijuana cigarette in the car after I returned it in order to get a $275 cleaning fee. I don’t smoke anything. It was a complete fabrication and now Turo has sided with the host and my otherwise unblemished reputation is tarnished. Do yourself a favor and just rent from a reputable provider. Avoid the police, airport security and now attorney involved to right the situation. Great idea but a bad host can ruin trip and more.

I had a reservation on February 19,2022 but when the host Tamika saw my photo and realized that I was black she cancelled my reservation after stating she had confirmed. This company is not minority friendly and advise anyone whois amoniroty never to rent from them. Beware if you a minority trying to get a rental,
