The car owner claimed I was smoking weed in the car and their proof was a picture of a twig. A literal twig. I have never touched a cigarette in my life let alone smoke weed. Had to pay a 250 dollar fine and I was banned from the app.

We rented a car in Honolulu, hi, actually had to set up three different cars to get a car. The first host canceled our trip approximately a little over a week before our trip. The n CR host canceled our trip after wet we’re to have already picked up our car. We were able to get the third vehicle approximately 3 hours after we were to have gotten our car. We missed our reservations due to the second host not getting in contact with us. We wasted our last morning of vacation trying to get the last vehicle reserved. We were unable to leave a review on the second host because that host canceled our reservation. I feel you should be able to leave a review as this host still has a 5 star rating. Not sure we would use Turo again. To get another rental took time & again we had submit license etc, why we had already done this for 2 far led reservations in the past week and a half.

My first two rental experiences were excellent. Unfortunately my most recent trip ended up being so regrettable because of the harassing and stalking nature of the host. She literally ruined my weekend as well as my family's. The host had the dashcam turned on and was set on record for the entire weekend which felt incredibly invasive, then there were her nonstop messages some of them starting at 4:25 am on a Saturday morning! At one point the car would not start because of a software update so I was stranded for two hours waiting to take my son to the ER, there were many other problems but her behavior was the worst of it. I am a 49 year old wife and mom with 30 years of clean driving history. I did report everything to Turo and they did nothing at all. I won't be using them anymore.

BEWARE. I was charged a $250 smoking fee when I am a non-smoker. No evidence, no appeal, customer service informed me this was "fair", decision was final and revoked my account, so you cannot even leave a bad review of the host to warn others. My advice? DONT RISK IT. A DISHONEST HOST HAS ALL THE POWER WITH THIS SERVICE.

Rented through Turo for the first time. Car was confirmed and paid for a month before my trip. But texting the host the day before I didn't get a response. So I called the contact number. Turns out to be a google phone service number. Starting to seem dodgy. Sure enough, when I arrive at the destination airport, no host, no car, no response to any of my messages. I call Turo to cancel and they start to argue with me that the rental already started (my flight was 30 minutes late). After I objected loudly they did agree to refund me, but now I was stranded. Then, when I tried to leave a review, I realized because the trip was cancelled, you can't leave a review. So their reviews are completely biased: there's no way to lower the reputation of hosts that just leave guests in the lurch. This app is a complete scam. Just use an ordinary rental company. Here's hoping their IPO tanks before their scumbag execs get to cash out.

After several great experiences with Turo rentals, a host planted a a marijuana cigarette in the car after I returned it in order to get a $275 cleaning fee. I don’t smoke anything. It was a complete fabrication and now Turo has sided with the host and my otherwise unblemished reputation is tarnished. Do yourself a favor and just rent from a reputable provider. Avoid the police, airport security and now attorney involved to right the situation. Great idea but a bad host can ruin trip and more.

I had a reservation on February 19,2022 but when the host Tamika saw my photo and realized that I was black she cancelled my reservation after stating she had confirmed. This company is not minority friendly and advise anyone whois amoniroty never to rent from them. Beware if you a minority trying to get a rental,

Terrible experience renting a car from Turo. We purchased their standard insurance policy for $630. Someone rear ended us at a red light while driving the car. The other party admitted 100% fault. Turo is still trying to collect an additional $500 from us on top of the $630 insurance policy we purchased. They said this so called “protection policy” we purchased isn’t in fact an insurance policy. Their wording is deceiving. They are trying to profit off our car accident. We will never use them again and will warn others to avoid.

Turo has treated me so bad as a guest I have been a member since 2014, and I had nothing but 5.0 stars rating but they don’t care about that, an host lied on me and stated I was smoking in her car when I didn’t and instead of Turo investigated the matter they automatically believe the host and they steal money out my account without my knowledge and they banned me from renting from Turo ever again. I’m very disappointed and it’s costing me money that I don’t have all Inwas trying to do was take my son to Dave and Buster and the host is extorting for money and they are allowing the host to do it. There is nothing on the host floor as you can tell.

Be careful with commercial renters! Especially in Orlando. I had decent experiences with Turo until this one. The rental itself went well, I cleaned the car, returned it on time in the correct parking lot and he was there to check the car and pick it up...this is where the issues started. He charges you $47 insurance plus sales tax of 13.5% ...fine He takes a $200 security deposit...fine...but weirdly charges sales tax on the deposit so $227..this alone is fairly strange. But here is the part that really screws you over, when he returns your security deposit he doesn't return the sales tax, just the initial $200, so you are already out $27. Then....if he takes anything out of the security deposit, he charges sales tax on those items as well. So in my case he charge $35 cleaning fee (even though the car was returned clean) and a $19 ticket fee for the parking lot (even thought the parking lot itself only charges a maximum of $10) So out of the initial $227 I only got $128 back! Making this rental more expensive than a regular rental car. Stay clear of this guy or know what you are getting into. Tried contacting him multiple times and always received answers that did not answer the actual questions I was asking. Turo support is a joke. You speak to a representative who says they can't help as they need to forward it to a higher agent. They then email you with a generic response that points you to articles or back to the representatives who sent you there. If you use a commercial host expect 0 help from Turo. I'm sad as I will now not use them again because of this.

I've rented from Turo a total of three times. The first time was magical and easy, I have no bad words for my experience. The second time I had a great host but they failed to notify me that I would be paying $36 to get the car out of parking only to receive the reimbursement that night through Venmo. I did let them know that some people would not be comfortable with that given that there is no heads up. Third-time same issue with the parking cost...last minute I find out I have to pay for parking but this time there is NO reimbursement. I pay it because what am I going to do, not have a car at this point? I contact turo and they won't reimburse me. So I dispute it. Long story short, using Turo means that there is a level of variability that is SCARY and there really is only so much you are guaranteed. At least when I use a car rental agency my charges are clear once I drive away with the car.

Really disappointed as a host. The kind of stress we go through and get zero support from turo.

Left power tools inside of the vehicle by accident. Then the Turo ground crew decided to not report the items and stole them, refusing to admit the items were left in the vehicle when I know they were. Absolutely ridiculous.

Honestly, no complaints using TURO. I had a breeze of a pickup and dropoff. My host had great communication and didn’t charge me any absurd fees. Love this app

So I rented a car to be picked up at the airport, then the host call me to take an Uber to the car location. I said I didn’t have a problem with it however I wasn’t notify in advance, plus I was with 9month old and my wife also 7 luggage.. long story short I had to call customer service 5times to try to sort things out. Finally the host decided after 1hour to send a friend(free of charge) to pick me up from the airport. Then I got an email saying that Turo cancel the rental. The host said that the service rep decided to cancel on me and there was no way to refund my money back because there was no proof that I was on my way to the host. They needed me to SMS threw the app for proof which I didn’t have since I was on the phone with both Turo and the host . Please before make sure everything is set with the host cause TURO will not help you with anything Customer service is not they’re main priority

Please, never rent from Turo. This is a company that does not care about serving customers. I rented a car and get into accident. Turo did nothing to help. I have to spend weeks dealing with this every day myself. In a separate incident about traffic violation, Turo also did not even bother to read my reply. Overall, do not rent from Turo. Trust me, they are not cheap these days when compared to car rental company. Credit card also does not recognize Turo as a car rental company and so your card's car rental coverage does not apply. It is not worth the trouble to deal with Turo, a company that only cares about taking themselves through the IPO and enrich the executives.

My first renter experience was great. The guy was super nice and easy to work with. Rental #2, what a joke. I was charged an additional $150 cleaning fee and was told I allowed my dog in the vehicle. While my pet does shed and his fur can get on clothing, my pet was nowhere near this car, and the car was returned clean, full tank, and exterior was even washed (after a snow storm). I went back and forth with this clown and although it was only my children and I in the vehicle, he was set on the idea that my animal was in this car. Very very disappointing.
