Really disappointed as a host. The kind of stress we go through and get zero support from turo.

Left power tools inside of the vehicle by accident. Then the Turo ground crew decided to not report the items and stole them, refusing to admit the items were left in the vehicle when I know they were. Absolutely ridiculous.

Honestly, no complaints using TURO. I had a breeze of a pickup and dropoff. My host had great communication and didn’t charge me any absurd fees. Love this app

So I rented a car to be picked up at the airport, then the host call me to take an Uber to the car location. I said I didn’t have a problem with it however I wasn’t notify in advance, plus I was with 9month old and my wife also 7 luggage.. long story short I had to call customer service 5times to try to sort things out. Finally the host decided after 1hour to send a friend(free of charge) to pick me up from the airport. Then I got an email saying that Turo cancel the rental. The host said that the service rep decided to cancel on me and there was no way to refund my money back because there was no proof that I was on my way to the host. They needed me to SMS threw the app for proof which I didn’t have since I was on the phone with both Turo and the host . Please before make sure everything is set with the host cause TURO will not help you with anything Customer service is not they’re main priority

Please, never rent from Turo. This is a company that does not care about serving customers. I rented a car and get into accident. Turo did nothing to help. I have to spend weeks dealing with this every day myself. In a separate incident about traffic violation, Turo also did not even bother to read my reply. Overall, do not rent from Turo. Trust me, they are not cheap these days when compared to car rental company. Credit card also does not recognize Turo as a car rental company and so your card's car rental coverage does not apply. It is not worth the trouble to deal with Turo, a company that only cares about taking themselves through the IPO and enrich the executives.

My first renter experience was great. The guy was super nice and easy to work with. Rental #2, what a joke. I was charged an additional $150 cleaning fee and was told I allowed my dog in the vehicle. While my pet does shed and his fur can get on clothing, my pet was nowhere near this car, and the car was returned clean, full tank, and exterior was even washed (after a snow storm). I went back and forth with this clown and although it was only my children and I in the vehicle, he was set on the idea that my animal was in this car. Very very disappointing.

Turo customer service is terrible! I recieved a rental for 6 day. When I initially recieved the car I never even thought to check if the tags were expired. Low and behold on day three in notice they have been expired for 6 months. I tell the host he says "he will change them once the trip ends and I bring the car back" - ya ok sure. Well im not driving around this liability for me to get pulled over and stuck with a ticket, so I use the chat support. They tell me I need to request a tow and then I can swap it with another. Well they didnt have any with the same rate and told me i would have to pay the difference, this is already a extreme inconvenience that they have no idea if these cars are stolen, have bad tags, or whatever the case is and they are renting them out and couldnt even answer me if I would have to deal with this with the next car because they literally dont check these things!! I told the guy no why would i do that, so even tho he said they would pay for me to uber and get the car, they wouldnt take the L for $37. So I just canceled, and ofc they want your money right away but they dont have a date when you'll be reimbursed. So im out money for a trip, no one was helpful at all besides the tow truck company. Id stay away from this app it is so sketchy, and you could be driving around a expired car, a stolen car or whatever because they apparently dont check for any of that. Oh and their support chat agents will just stop talking to you mid conversation if they dont like what you have to saying....i had to talk to 4 until I finally got an answer.

Turo is a real fraud it seems, they charge unreasonable fees and penalties even though there is no violation of policy. In my case the car had low air pressure and that caused delay by 35mins for which I was charged around $70 USD. After a day there was another charge of $165 that was made with a note that it was penalty for dirty car. This is after the fact that I had an agreement with host that I will be unable to clean the car and requested upfront that host should get car cleaned and I will pay $17 for car cleaning the charges mentioned by Turo. This is a fraud. I had multiple conversation with Turo support however it was all one sided and even after clarifying all the facts they are still putting the charges. I warn everyone never book car from Turo.

I thought I was getting convenience with Turo. Instead, I had a nightmare and loss $260. Turo does not protect their guest. I rented a vehicle for it’s all wheel drive feature. However, when I picked up the vehicle, the Host was not present because he had to be at work. His wife instead gave me the keys. She was unable to answer my questions; she suggested I text her husband. I figured I could text the Host as I began the trip. I only traveled 2 miles, so I could use a bathroom, when the Host informed me his vehicle was not an all wheel drive vehicle. He apologized and I do believe he made a mistake. He said he could not give me a full refund because Turo only gives him about 40-50% of the total cost. I contacted Turo supported and was bounced around and then hung up on. They told me I could return the car early, but would have to PAY a PENALTY. I will never use their service again.

A renter left my car in disarray with mud, fur, dirt and grime from then ceiling to the floor as well as an empty tank of gas. Turo asked me for further information, which I provided, and they declined the request for a cleaning fee and the gas money. The renter also put 800 miles on my car in two days. Do not rent with Turo. They will not help you when your car is ruined. Terrible company, terrible service.

Rented a car for a recent family trip. We stopped at the gas station and filled the tank on the way to the airport. Dropped the car off at the lot as arranged. We’ve been home for 5 days now and today my daughter received an email that she was being charged $65 to fill the gas tank! She replies to their email telling them the tank was full and that the owner did not have to fill it. Turo then sends her pictures that the owner apparently sent them. One picture of the gas tank on a quarter tank, the second with the full tank and the third picture of the receipt from the gas station. Two problems here. First off the gas tank pictures. The picture when the tank has been filled, the odometer has 200 LESS miles on it than when the tank was on a quarter tank! The receipt shows it cost him $51 dollars to fill but they’re charging her $64. What kind of scams does this place run?? And how is that even “customer service” when the pictures that the owner provided prove that they’re lying??! Never again!! I will tell everyone I know not to use this company ever!

My reservation was arbitrary cancelled on the day I was traveling. Turo help was impossible to deal with. Hang ups, endless holds, rebooking wrong car, workers with marginal English skills. Avoid this company.

Turo is a great idea and my first rental (with host "Vadim") went very well. My second trip (with host "Jackson") was terrible and Turo has refused to send the agreed upon partial refund and both Turo and Jackson stopped communicating entirely. I rented a Lexus SUV and Jackson asked me to switch to their Audi SUV, which was fine. They delivered (late) a dirty Toyota SUV that smelled, was not filled with gas, and which had the check engine/"maintenance required" light on. Initially, Jackson apologized and offered a significant refund, which I agreed to. Turo delayed the refund, then denied it because they claimed there was no proof of the issues (not true--it was all documented in photos and trip messages in their app). They won't pay the refund and both Turo and Jackson stopped communicating. DO NOT RENT FROM TURO OR JACKSON.

We had a similar experience that a lot of other reviewers are experiencing. If Turo had a google review option I would leave the negative review there but they dont. We had made a van reservation 2 months in advance. A few days before our flight to LAX I tried messaging through turo and also calling Ebrahim. After a few days he finally answered the call. Confirmed delivery instructions of the van. A few minutes before arrival we recived a turo message from him with instructions to the van drop off. I texted back 10 min later to confirm we had landed and are headed to the arriaval pickup at LAX. When we arrived he was not there, I called him and he had said it was canceled! I called Turo and they said he had canceled! Turo was no help, and Ebrahim would not respond to my calls or text. We were stranded. Luckily we were able to rent another Van from someone else but took over an hr wait! We were unable to leave him a neg feedback because we didn't end up renting from him. Be careful!

On 10/20-10/21/ 2021, I rented a Honda Civic Sedan 2022 from the host Michael M from Jersey City NJ. He became a host in Oct. 2019 and works in a car dealership too. I will say this was the worst experience I ever had speaking from a customer point of view. The guy is mentally sick-because I did not give him a five-star rating he keeps calling and harassing me. He calls me from different numbers saying he hates black people-he is a trump supporter and that there's nothing Turo will do about it. I have audio and video in which he claims he is Michael with Turo and he wants to "kill a nigger". Please people if you run into him run-I even have a text message in which he clearly stated he planted fake weed in the car just to make me pay extra charges. This car was rented for me and a pastor to go to his mother's funeral-as a child of God never have I smoked and yet Turo chooses to do nothing. Remind you-Turo and Michael have my driver's license which he makes death threats to me. Please Turo and Michael M are both unprofessional-This is a criminal case which is being invettogated

11/20/2021 - We have friends that use Turo when traveling. We decided to try it. My wife went on their website and reserved a Chevy SUV from Michael M in Tampa Florida. We live in San Diego. Got up at 3am to catch our flight, had a layover in Houston, got to Tampa at 6pm. My wife had been in contact with Michael a couple of times letting him know when we were going to be picking it up. The day we flew in, we could not get a hold of him. He did not answer our texts nor return our phone calls. It costs us $35 ($30 Lyft ride + $5 tip) to get from the airport to his place. He was nowhere to be found, it was now 7pm and it was not the safest neighborhood. If my wife were by herself, it would not have been a good situation. We called Turo, they couldn't get a hold of him and now we were at the mercy of the "Legit" car rental companies to hopefully get a rental. My wife called Lyft and back to the airport (another $35) we went. Was able to get a rental from Thrifty (BIG THANK YOU to THIRFTY) and headed to our hotel in Clearwater. Turo said they will reimburse us for the rental (really, I'd hope so, they were talking about giving us a credit for future rides, HAHAHAHA) and $50 more toward the Lyft charges. We wanted to leave a review about Michael M on their website so the next person would know, but there is NO place on the Turo website to do that. We even called Turo the next day inquiring how to warn others; we were told there is no way. Bottom Line: if you use Turo, you have no idea who you are actually renting from or what area you are going to be picking it up from or even if they are going to show. If it weren't for Thrifty we would have been in a real crisis; renting from Turo costs us two extra hours of an already long day and (as long as they follow through with reimbursements) $20 in Lyft charges (they would only reimburse $50).
