Extremely Disappointing Experience I rented a car from Turo for a trip from Montreal to Quebec, and it turned into a nightmare on the very first day. The car broke down in the middle of our journey, leaving us stranded on the highway. It was so bad that the police had to come to our aid. Despite this major inconvenience and the safety risk we faced, Turo assured us they would reimburse us for the trouble. Unfortunately, they never followed through with their promise. This lack of responsibility and customer care is unacceptable. I would not recommend using Turo, as their lack of reliability and failure to honor their commitments made our experience extremely stressful and frustrating. Zero stars

This car rental company is very more expensive than the big car rentals. Cars are very old and prices are too high. Never going to rent the car from Turo.

In a reservation, the user rented the car to sell or smoke marijuana. You did nothing and did not even answer the expenses that I claimed for cleaning and breaking a wheel with 5 nails. I need you to tell me if you are going to give me a solution, otherwise I will have to make a report to the police and also obviously leave the review of everything that happened on all platforms and make videos on tiktok and all networks showing what happened. The user is reported by me and the 3 people who rented from him before and you do nothing about it. IN ADDITION, you deleted the rating that I gave him.

Used their service, car broke down, had to get a car ride back to where I got it (30 min there, 30 min back), and no compensation for the time lost on vacation. Use another service if possible.

Turo is a scam. They take a processing fee of $150 if you pick any tier of their insurances and if there’s a claim being filed through them. Pavlo K from Sheepshead Bay BK falsified damages onto his car using my nighttime pics with shadows and lighting on my photos. He created superficial marks and a scratch onto his mini van to match the shadows. I went to look for his car as soon as he uploaded the damages, which was the next morning. I returned the car before 11 pm, he claimed damages 8 am. I searched for his car as soon as he uploaded his photos. I have a video of damages that aren’t on his car anymore. I told this to the Turo claims dept. Turo didn’t want to look at evidence after the date of return. Mind you, i dropped the car off at 6/7/24 @ 11 pm. He uploaded damages at 6/8 @ 8 am. I went to look for his mini van at 6/9 3:34 am… no damages as stated in these pics and a video. I will upload the pics and video on here. Turo is chasing after me incessantly and takes a supervisor two months to get back to me. They take a cut of the claims. I put the claim through my personal insurance and Progressive said it’s not valid bc there are no damages on his car according to my evidence via a HUMAN adjuster; therefore, they denied the claim on their end. Turo uses Snap Sheet as their adjuster which isn’t a real human. It’s a computerized system. Do not use Turo. Pavlo K is a five star host bc they won’t allow any negative reviews being posted. They took my review down from his page. I’ve been dealing with this until recently. Customer service representatives are not from this country. They outsource their calls. In addition, they do not read previous messages so you’ll need to repeat your issues over 20x, very disorganized.

Worst Experience Turo Rent a Car in Birmingham, UK Rent a Car in Birmingham, United Kingdowm (UK) Worst experience It was a worst experience as TURO Provided cars without road tax paid status and valid MOT status (illegal to drive/ it’s an offence to drive a vehicle on a public road in the UK without valid road tax). Those cars listed on TURO website are untaxed and MOT expired status. Customer care stationed outside UK worsen the situation. End result :- cancelled 3-days trip and lost all booked hotel/ activities ticket expenses.

Turo is a garbage company. Was hosting for months. I had a minimum price and Turo kept going below that. I called and they didn't know why it was renting under my minimum. Happened multiple times. My vehicle was returned trashed almost everytime and I couldn't charge a cleaning fee. It was damaged often and when guests paid, turo took a cut. They took a large cut of all my money. Turo won't let you cancel rentals. I had to contact guests and tell them to cancel. My profits barely covered my car payments. Maintenance was out of pocket

Absolutely horrible service from the hosts. Was a good idea in theory, but the hosts don’t show up, they usually give you a vehicle with tons of issues, and they completely ignore any attempts to contact them.

At first I like TURO because of a debit card renter it allowed only a $200 deposit and a quick yes rather than going through $500 deposit and other scrutiny for not having major credit card. That was short lived. Hosts who don’t have toll road passes and charge you $300 for $18 in tolls because they say they are late payments for the Host not paying it and the Host being so Ignorant that they don’t know they can call Toll roads and get it exempted right away back to almost original price. Additionally , if you ever need to extend your vehilce and it’s already rented it poses an issue. I had to take my kids to a hospital for poisionius slide bites and the host could care less … return my car he says… threatens to report the vehicle stolen … I say go ahead you idiot .., it’s not stolen … you didn’t allow me to extend and I communicated w them … second time TURO host threatens police on me and the BS toll charges , not to mention I have minor mechanical issues throughout different experiences which honestly was at the end of the day not as bad as all the other BS ! I’m done done w TURO and when you have a platform of morons running your business for you this is what happens … maybe I’m dumb for thinking otherwise… NOT WORTH IT !!!

Honestly, if I could give 0 stars I would. **I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT USING TURO FOR YOUR CAR RENTAL NEEDS** this is very long and I apologize but I want to help someone out in the future. I recently took a trip to 🏖🏖Cocoa Beach, FLORIDA 🏖🏖 from July 31st till August 6th. The morning of August 1st around 10 a.m. our rental car started to over heat. We ended up pulling over to call Turo and to also let the owner of the vehicle know. As expected, they wanted us to wait an hour on the side of the road to have a tow truck come out to pick up to take back to the shop for mechanical inspection. We ended up waiting longer than an hour. My husband was going back and fourth with customer service to get a replacement rental as we live out of state and now had no way of transportation. This trip was for our honeymoon. We recently just married and decided that Turo was our best option to go with in Florida for our car rental needs. Boy was we wrong! After we contacted Turo the customer representative had transferred us over to the wrong department which was accidental aid or something like that. However, we was not in an accident we just simply had an over heating car and needed a replacement. I do not mean no disrespect but we could not understand the representative and did not catch his name. He was speaking English but it was not the best. He did try though. He asked us several questions about the vehicle and how we were in an accident. After both ends of frustration, we were told someone would be in touch within 15 minutes to further assist. An hour goes by and my husband calls Turo back. We were informed that our ticket for the tow pick up was canceled and the tow truck wasn’t coming. At this point we were both very heated and very much over the entire situation. We couldn’t drive anywhere as the car stayed on “H” and we didn’t want to cause further damage. (just for reference we had the car shut off the entire time to cool down to which that did nothing) At this time, we were told that we could wait on the tow truck again and they can take us back to our Airbnb. My husband quickly asked about a replacement as we still had 5 days left of our honeymoon and no way of transportation. We were then told we could catch an Uber to their nearest car rental which was 100 miles away and that there was no guarantee if they had a car at the location at that time. We had already been waiting on the tow truck for more than an hour and we did not want to travel 2 hours for a possible rental. My husband asked if there was a way they could bring a car to us as we had already wasted time on our trip dealing with this issue. Of course Turo said No but we could go through a 3rd party rental and be reimbursed for the time of us not using the car and also they would reimburse us for the 3rd party rental. All we had to do was send our receipts to the email that was given to us. We were closest to an Enterprise which was .5 mile down the road so we decided to go that route. It ended up costing us an additional 630.00 for the rental. $300.00 was a deposit and $330.00 was the actual price to rent. We had already initially paid 448.00$ for the car rental through Turo. So at this point we were out of pocket by $700.00+ for both car rentals (I’m not counting the deposit as we were to get that back once we turned in the enterprise car) Fast forward, we sent all receipts to Turo. We give them a call to let them know and all we were told was that “the higher ups will send us an email saying they received our receipts and will keep us posted on our reimbursement but you must wait 48 hours” We waited 48 hours, gave them a call. We were informed the email we sent our receipts to no longer worked. We must send a new picture to a new email and must wait 48 hours again. At this point we are very frustrated however we wait our allotted time. We call, and low and behold history repeats itself. So my husband demanded to speak to “the higher ups” but was told they never talk on the phone and on top of it never put in a request for us to get our reimbursement so it looked like we had the car longer than the 1.5 days. We were to only receive a reimbursement of 130.00$ due to the remaining time we supposedly had the car but we must wait 10 days. Here it is 19 days past the incident and we have not received anything back from Turo. We have continued to call 3-4 times a day and still receive the same answer over and over again. At this point we are counting our loss and feel like our time with Turo was a complete disaster. I apologize once again for this post being so long but wanted to share our story to help others in the future.

Drive it like you stole it! This should be the company slogan. The insurance is terrible, the gap doesn't exist, they'll allow people to do thousands of damage to your vehicles, they allow people to Total your vehicles and leave you hanging with the gap, and users do not care about your vehicles at all
