“the phone I ordered worked and looked nice but the sim card would not activate when I added my sim card it wouldn't recognize it, had to trade it in for a different phone at Verizon”
Hi Monique,
We wish you would have contacted us to resolve the issue for you. We verified that the device is 100% compatible with Verizon so we are not sure why it would not have worked. We could have swapped it for you instead of you taking the hit on the device.
Hi Aiden. We apologize that you had this issue but we were able to successfully swap out this unit for you. For the Japanese phone, it is a full band genuine apple device that was originally launched in Japan and sold to us. It does not have any less features or quality that one sold to the American market.
Hi Hope, I just noticed that you never updated this review. Just wanted to make sure to clear up that the device was indeed unlocked and it was just a misunderstanding on how to activate the device for your service. Thank you again for your business!
“Very bad and terrible experience with Uptrade. They are highly unprofessional and have the worst customer support team. First they sent me a faulty phone for almost $300. When informed about the same they (someone named Alexis and Esteban) wasted my time for unnecessary back and forth email exchange without bothering to do anything to replace the product. My experience of them is that they are a bunch of crooks out to fleece your hard earned money by selling sub-standard and bad products.”
“The phone I got for my fiancé is not working right. It randomly powers all the way off at least 5 times a day and it won’t turn back on unless it’s plugged in. It has nothing to do with the battery life. It’s a HUGE inconvenience.”
Hi Rebekah,
We are very sorry about this situation. These things do happen from time to time with technology, but we have reached out for you to return this device for a swap or a refund. We haven't heard back from you yet. Please let us know how you would like to proceed.
Thank you,
-Esteban
“Service was good
Product was good
Your after sale span attack on text and email is not appreciated or welcome. Leave me alone and the next time I need a phone I will go to you on line.”
“I bought a phone that was supposed to be unlocked, they then shipped me a Sprint phone and denied my return after the phone was sent back even though i shipped it spotless, the way i received it. I feel like their quality control is very very bad, and theyre supposed to be a professional phone company but cant even tell the difference between locked and unlocked. I'll never reccomend or buy from again.”
“Ordered a phone 10 days ago, received an empty fedex envelope 7 days later and haven't been able to get a response from anyone at UpTrade. Called and email but No response. Filed a claim with Fedex who is answering my calls and email. Thank God for inspiring Ring inventors to catch my empty envelope delivery on camera. At this point, I wouldn't advise anyone to do business with a company that takes your currency but won't respond after that point.”
“UpTrade has questionable grading and difficult processes for returning bad products. I recommend going elsewhere. I ordered a phone that was purported to be in 'Very Good' condition. When I got it, it was significantly chipped on the corner. I took it to AT&T and they said that was a damaged phone and would not pass the test in terms of normal wear and tear - much less be in 'very good' condition. After searching around on how to return the phone, I printed the 'ship back for free' label and sent it in. The US Post Office sent it back to me saying there was insufficient postage - sneaky on Uptrade's part. I took it to the post office in the exact same packing it came in and had them weigh it and they told me the printed label was 75 cents short of the postage needed. After all that, I was finally able to send it in. I will give credit to UpTrade for processing the return fairly quickly but way too much hassle to get to that part. Given the shifty practices of grade inflation and not including enough postage in their 'free returns', I would suggest purchasing a used phone elsewhere.”
“I sold two phones to UpTrade and both had zero signs of wear. Once UpTrade received the phones, they downgraded my offer claiming that there were scratches on the screens.
Be careful if you sell to UpTrade expecting a certain price for your devices given their condition. Once they have the phones, it's easy for them to low-ball you. Your options at that point are to accept the lower offer or pay for return shipping.
UpTrade received two new phones from me for much less than they are actually worth. I will not be selling to UpTrade again.”
“I feel like they have robbed me. I purchased a phone with insurance and almost 2 weeks later the volume completely stops working on the phone. It took me over two months to get in contact with somebody. Because they don’t have a call-center email only. So I send my phone back I get a replacement phone I am not even a month later that phone stops working as well with no damage done to it. So I contact them again I send the phone back and this time. They still have my phone it’s been over a month since I heard from anybody and I email them every other day. I am still currently waiting to hear from somebody or to get a refund.”
“Customer service is very poor , I bought in last months more then 25 phones , and sold one phone and tried to contact customer service , I failed , I am scared that I will not get my money that I sold the phone !

“So I ordered an iPhone from this place online n I was able to track it through Fed EX. When package arrived I was at work and the driver which I’m assuming dropped it off at my front door which I live in a apartment complex so my iPhone must’ve been sitting out side for hours or not, that’s even if the driver really dropped off the package like the status showed online. I got home and no package! There was no signature required for delivery. I reached out to this company via email and I haven’t heard anything back. So now I lost my money and my product. I want my money back.”
“I am trying to get an update for a device sent a month ago, no response from customer care and their phone is not in service. I am not sure how they get CNET and other reviews, TO BE AVOIDED”
“I sent my phone to Uptrade in October. It is now March and I have not received payment or my phone back. I have sent at leas a dozen emails to customer support. They have responded to two or three saying they are looking into it. DO NOT SEND THEM YOUR PHONE.”
