An agent came over talking about no standing charges and how i can save £100 a year by avoiding around 50p of standing charges a day(Elec. and Gas). Did the switch, noticed within a week that the electricity cost has grown. The agent wasn't lying, they dont have standing charges, they have first rates which the electricity charge itself is 48p. Tricksters. Trying to do a switch for the last two month but there was several errors along the way and unfortunately i still have an account with Utilita, paying way more than i should.

Moved into property in 2019 and was ok for a while after changing account to my name, i used to spend £40 a month on my gas and electric now that doesnt last 3 weeks let alone 4, When i have called to complain i get snotty attitude, lies and different versions of the same thing. I swapped to bulb in november the day after i topped up my meter and since then i have tried to get my money back which they are refusing to do. Then yesterday (15/12) they take my supply back without concent so i spent 1+ hours on phone trying to sort it out, i am on emergancy cred atm with utilita as im refusing to loose any more money to them as im hoping to go back to the company they swapped me from yesterday and i was told i was talking to a robot for over an hour. I record all my calls so luckily i have proof of what was said. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE THEY ARE VILE RUDE CREATURES WHO ARE JUST OUT TO STEAL FROM YOU WITH THEIR OVER RATE PRICES

Have had problems with this company from day one. I took over the tenancy of a property which was supplied by Utilita for both Gas and Electricity. I eventually managed to to talk to someone who changed the details on the account into my name and told me I would receive a welcome pack from them with all the details of the account. This never happened. I have continually telephoned to find out what was happening and eventually got the Account number from one of their representatives. I received a bill from them but had to phone again as when I went to pay this it was higher than expected but I paid it. Turned out it included a second month amount. Oh and this was only for Electricity. I asked when I would receive a Gas bill to be told they didn't supply me with gas. On checking the rep found the readings for both gas and electricity. Now they are investigating why this was not added on. Today I received a bill for November and luckily noticed the total is what I have already paid when I went on to pay the first bill. I can no longer access my account as it asks me to link it up to view payments etc. When I try to do this it tells me my details do not match up. This company is a disgrace and I have already moved away from them after being in the property a few months. New company have been fantastic with everything in place and account set up with no problem at all. Utilita may sound like they offer a good deal but with the problems they have caused for me, I would never go near them again.

For yrs I have never been able to top up gas and it takes days for them to put if back into my account, I'm on benefits through no fault of my own I'm disabled, housebound, have a daughter at school and for the last 3 yrs they have said I don't qualify for the winter payment which is unlawful!... I'm changing suppliers now!!!

A sales rep knocked at my door today promising all sorts of cheap energy and even 140 credit for the winter due to me being on universal credit due to corona. I told her to knock back a couple of hours later as I wanted to read some unbiased reviews and low and behold she never knocked! I wonder why. I am glad I found this page.

If i could give this company no star i would they ripped us off with there smart meter for them £200 on electric for a month and £120 gas a month when we was on edf we was paying £80 electic and gas £40 a month so you can see how the company works there being looked into by ofgem

Avoid like the plague, I was only with them for 2 weeks after being transferred to them when Eversmart went bust. Over a year they keep sending me bills with different readings despite me giving them the opening and closing meter reads and having a £160 credit from Eversmart. Phone calls E mails they still fail to explain their workings and are hopeless!

Absolutely appalling just moved to utilita topped up £10 ran my hot tap took £1 off meter put heating on for 10 minutes to check what happend and used £1.30.basically £10 was gone in 4 hours i have rang them 8 times to be told they couldn't hear me and ring back Monday when my app should be working which by the way at this point they said would take 48 hours!emailed and complained 5 times no response..totally scam

Terrible customer service and unbelievably hard to get through to Customer service! Would not recommend this energy supplier whatsoever go with a different supplier. Don’t waste ya time with these fools

Utilita is totally absent. There is no way to speak with a human been all is done by recorded messages and I'm in an emergenzy and is impossible to reach anyone. I called 4 different number they all say the same think. A total froud. I wish I could just transfer to another company asap but I sign the agreement :(

Repeatedly causing distress for my family. Asked for a quote and ended up taking over British Gas as our supplier without our consent or knowledge. Attempted to charge us £740 for it for service. Repeatedly refused to amend their mistake or switch us back to British Gas. Days upon days of multi-hour phone calls to reach a resolution and switch us back. Fastforward to a few weeks later British Gas states we still owe this crooked company £740 and can't supply us til its paid. We received letters stating this false bill was dealt with and no longer an issue, back to square one and they are threatening to send bailiffs over £740 service we never asked for or wanted, we simply asked for a energy quote. Customer service was entirely unhelpful, refused for hours upon hours of a phone call to be of any help of any kind, repeating their sorry and reiterating talking points instead of committing to any form of solution. I could understand this if it was a customer attempting to swindle their way into some advantagious for themselves, but this company has already admitted to a fault at this point and is knowingly attempting to press a £740 charge they already know is wrong. I'm still trying to fix this issue, this company is simply worthless and horrific.

Absolute joke these and wouldnt recommend them as they the same as all the rest looking for "profit " as always and the customer gets a mug reward for paying it . Typical Britain.

Terrible customer service !!! I just moved into a property with my 2 and a half year old and they leave us with no gas because i refuse to pay the previous tenant's debt or to have a smart meter installed . Will contact the energy ombudsman as these are illegal practices . So I'm with a toddler with no heating or hot water in November during the pandemic ! Staff are rude when you ring them and try to blackmail and bully you . Avoid at all cost !!!

Terrible customer service !!! Moved into a property and they leave me with no gas during this pandemic with a 2 and a half year old . Previous tenant owed £52 and UTILITA requests that i pay tgis balance to be able to use the meter or have a smart meter put in . That debt isn't mine to pay and i don't want a smart meter so I'm left with no heating or hot water with a toddler . Will definitely be contacting the energy ombudsman as this is an illegal practice to force sell smart meters and puts me and my child in a situation where we have no heating or hot water in November !!! Beware people

Overpriced. Somehiw we're 100's of pounds in debt with them. We never got a choice, we were just switched to them after the collapse of eversmart. They have messed up mu dirrct debit and I'm paying for it. Its bit acceptable and even more so when we're going through a pandemic and had no proper communication over what is happening. Now until I can pay this so called debt we're stuck with them.. Appalling would bit recommend

Worse company in the world. I changed over from EDF in August to utilita thinking I was getting a better deal and my bills more than doubled over night. I was with this dreadful utility company for a month before switching again. Please people don’t join them they are the pits. If I could give no stars I would!
