“Avoid at all costs! Terrible customer service and very difficult to get hold off, i am still awaiting a refund and am still being charged.
DO NOT USE!!”
“I used a comparison site but when the emailed me the prices were different. So I rang many times to cancel but no-one answered so I emailed. They just ignored my emails. Now they say I owe £56 for two weeks electric. Still haven't resolved the issues. Never use them!”
“I have been promised to get my refund back in 10 working days. I have not received any payment yet. When I call them the answer is they have referred it to finance department for the payment. My account number is UPD0066186 . I hope they send my money back to my account soon.”
“I wish i had read other comments here as i have been waiting over 8 weeks now for a refund promised 4 weeks ago and despite contacting them many times and listening to their false promises i am no further forward”
“I flipped my account from Utility Point several months ago. They continued to take direct debit after I flipped and now owe me over £600. They promised payment by 31st December and here we are on 8th January and no sign. Shame on you Utility Point. There will be people out there that rely on prompt refunds to feed their families.”
“AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST! They were great when I was still a customer, but I switched suppliers on 23rd October and I’m still waiting on a refund of over £325!!! I’ve emailed them 3x; had a response to the initial email saying I’d get my refund by 10th December, no response from the 2 emails I’ve sent since. This is NOT acceptable 😡😡😡! VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!”
“AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! I CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AND 6 weeks later I'm still waiting for my refund for what I'd overpaid, telephone staff very unhelpful and give the same answer everytime I phone 'its being processed!!!!!!!!!
Would they wait this long if I owed them?????”
“Waiting since October flip to another supplier for my £400 credit from Utility Point despite several emails from me and unfullfilled promises from them. Disgusting delay and will be contacting Energy Ombudsman straight after Xmas.”
“Recently switched from utility point to another company and they are still holding on to the £200 they owe me. Despite being over 5 working days past the original deadline. They always take at least 20 minutes to answer the phone and do not reply to emails in a timely fashion. No apologies or explanation to why they can't process the payment. They weren't even using the meter readings I was giving them - just estimating my usage through the whole contract. Avoid.”
“I left Utility Point several months ago yet despite numerous emails and regular promises to refund me the balance owed to me I am still waiting for them to settle my account. Essentially they appear to be doing everything possible to avoid paying me back for as long as possible - ignoring my emails, promising to get back in touch and then not doing so, saying payment has been made and then inventing excuses, promising to 'escalate' things over and over again. Worst service ever. Avoid at all costs”
“Prices were good, hence the one star. After six months they increased the direct debit even though the account was over £250 in credit. Promise to reduce it did not happen so I cancelled the DD and started the process of switching to another supplier. Supplied meter readings to new supplier and Utility Point on changeover date; new supplier acknowledged and set up account whereas Utility Point ignored the readings and carried on billing me using estimated readings. Fortunately, I have used up all my credit balance and actually owe them a small amount. I refuse to telephone and be kept waiting so I use email and receive auto-reply promising to get back to me in 3 to 5 days but they don't. I have had many different energy suppliers over the years but this is the only one ever to be a problem. If you are thinking of switching to Utility Point then DON'T!”
“Avoid dealing with this company, very difficult to make contact via phone, and they use delay tactics when monies are to be refunded, very fed up with them”
“A credit was agreed when I switched, but credit wasn’t applied to my account when agreed. Had to call to chase this up which I shouldn’t have to. Credit now added.”
“Terrible company, can't get hold of them, jack the prices up within months of joining and hit me with a huge bill when I tried to leave. One to avoid.”
“In all honestly i would give more stars but -20 stars.I joined with them in late June 2019 after their estimation than we agreed they would take £103.00 a month D/D from my account, they did that for two months than they took £210.00 again £210.00 without informing me bear in mind that i am a disabled person.i tried to call U.P twice each time i waited more than 37 and 49 min, on the phone but no answer third time they answered after 51 min, when i asked whey they took more than double from me all they said was because it was cold weather, bear in mind that i live in a small bungalow than they told me they had no meter reading but i did give meter reading at the start and in between and when i asked what is going on he told me they are a small company and these sort of things does happen. Finally all can say just DO NOT JOIN THEM and the name should change UTILITY POINT TO USELESS POINTLESS company.”
“Truly awful customer service, attempted to cancel, got no reply, my new supplier contacted them to cancel yet they still bill me, the system does not let me submit final meter readings. Not possible to get any reply via email. Never use as a supplier, there are far cheaper and better suppliers out there.”
“This company totally trash, switch to other company 30th of October, and 1.5 month after I'm find out that I'm still with them, and I have to pay for their services that I did not use.... Beware of this company.”
“Agree with all the bad comments about this company. They are awful. I switched away from them 32 days ago and they are still holding £160 of my money because they have been overcharging me through the year. They are supposed to refund within 28 days. Can't get through on the phone. Don't use this company!!”
“I dont even want to give them 1 star, If i could give less i would, do not join this company. They ask you to provide meter readings monthly to make your bills as accurate as possible, my direct debit started at £70 went up to £168, realised they cost a fortune once my contact was up, i let my direct debit come out and phoned to pay the remaining balance they advised they don't take your direct debits into account for remaining balance only future balance making it completely impossible to leave. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY - i wish i read the reviews....”
