“Used carpet washer twice before brush head motor burnt out & VAX will do nothing as just outside warranty.
Had previous make of cleaner which was used frequently & lasted 20 years.
Don't waste your money on VAX”
“Dreadful experience. Not taking up water after 2 months careful ownership. Stopped working last weekend. The repair is send back for 2 weeks then they return. Can be anytime 9 to 5:30 but they didnt turn up so after taking day of work and lost money they just said sorry cant do anything, do you want to take another day of work. But what if they dont turn up. We cant control DPD”
“Vax Blade 2 Max.
The rotating brush head soon gets snarled up especially with hair meaning the cheap plastic bearings soon get tangled too. This means the bearing melts and fuses together. You have to watch it like a hawk. The brush component is supposed to come out for cleaning but won’t budge even after cleaning the head without removing the brush. A tricky job. This is not a solid bit of kit. Do not use as your main vac. It might be good for a light vac upstairs, nothing more.”
“I purchased a hoover less then a year ago. Out of no where it stops working so i sent it away to be fixed. after they received my hoover they sent it back because there was damage to the wire which i was completely unaware of. they have said there unable to touch it because its unsafe and needs to be fixed by a electrician. ive been quoted £60 to fix the wire the hoover cost my £100 how do i know if i paid that cost they wont make up some ridiculous reason it cant be fixed what an absolute joke”
“Have a vax blade 4 for just over 2 years and battery has failed only used average 2 times a week not impressed batteries are not cheap glad I kept our G tech now nearly 5 years old and still on original battery we won't be buying vax again”
“Does not pick up well when you stop the bits end up on the carpet again ,also my battery as stop working not even 3years old ,and the plastic pipe has spilt. Please people do not buy this product.”
“DREADFUL BLACK SMOKE ALL OVER CARPET, i took it apart bare in mind only used maybe 5 times , inside was full of dog hair and screws inside by motor rusty, issue i have is surely inside should be sealed surely, so all vax machines that are meant for water can get moisture inside motor area, this is so dangerous, how have they ever passed safty checks ?? was going to buy new motor but whats the point as will blow up again at some point water moisture net to electric is a no no, all they needed to do was puta seal rubber along were plastic parts joint, can not say how dangerous these machines are .”
“I discovered that if you do not trade with them after depositing funds, you will be charged a fee on your withdrawal! Despite my request and a few back-and-forth emails, customer service did not take any action, despite my issue being real. If K E Z O O K had not intervened, I would have lost all of my money, including the account.
I would have been in terrible debt if it hadn't been for my rescue and the return of my entire investment.”
“I have a vax Blade 4. Suction is good and general handling BUT - a very BIG BUT - the dust sticks around the middle of the cone which sits inside the dust collection cannister. Even while the rest of the cannister is empty, the dust builds up in the middle until it blocks the inlet pipe. I therefore need to empty very often and not just the flip bottom. I have to remove the inner cone and brush the dust which has accumulated on the honeycomb middle section, plus more often than not, clear the inlet pipe. Extremely annoying.”
“Purchased a DualPower Pet advance which put down more water than it picked up. Vax replaced the unit which has burnt out several belts, acrid smoke and debris from the unit. No one wants to service and it seems hardly worth further investment. Bad design. Customer service operates OK during warranty but unless you can get an extended warranty, forget these. Here's an example of burned up belt which you quickly learn to intercept before the house stinks of burning rubber.”
“I bought the vax Blade 3 with high expectations. It became clear very quickly that the battery would only run for 20 mins despite what they claimed I their advert. I rang customer services and was basically told that is right, and “does it work?” As I confirmed that it did they said that I didn’t have grounds for complaint. Now the battery has totally died. I can’t get any support online and am reluctant to ring given my previous experience. I do not want to spend any more more and a very mediocre product. I would avoid vax battery products, their customer service and abandon any hope of getting any kind of support.”
“Motor failed on my vacuum after 3 years. Only used twice a week in my small flat. One month outside guarantee but Vax said there was nothing they could do. Very disappointed.”
“We have two cordless hoovers and the batteries on both hoovers have failed, will not recharge. We phoned vax and we were told that they know they have a problem with their batteries. He then said we could purchase two new batteries for £70 each. Why would we want to purchase batteries that vax know they have problems with. We declined and won’t be buying another Hoover from vax. Very disappointed customer. It’s a pity vax didn’t tell us that they knew about the issue with their batteries before we purchased two hoovers at the cost of over £300.”
“New cordless blade 5 is useless. Not enough suck to pick up anything wish I had read reviews £249 down from nearly £400 what a bloody rip of. Previous corded Shark much better. HELP
If Vax reads this. Contact me to discuss return please”
“Bought 2 vax carpet cleaners, within months bith engines on the machines started making bad noises with burning smells.Dangerous and a waste of money.”
“I ordered a Blade4 Pet vacuum with 2 batteries to make sure I could hoover the whole flat without waiting for 1 battery to re-charge. It arrived quickly, so was pleased with that. I registered it online to get the 5 year warranty & that was a simple job, although it was registered with the original 1 year warranty from the day I ordered, not the day I received it. I used the machine the next day. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! The rollers didn't go round, so nothing was picked up from the carpet. I turned the boost button on & it stuck to the carpet. I could hardly move it over my carpets & I tried 3 different rooms with different types of carpet. Every one was the same, I was unable to push or pull the vax properly, it just jumped over them. It didn't pick up anything as the rollers wouldn't go round, no fluff, bits or hair. It did pick up dust which was like sand, but anything else it just left on the carpets. I pushed & pulled it over the same bit 5 or 6 times & it didn't even make the fluff move, let alone pick it up. Even using the boost never picked up anything. The motor is at the top of the hoover & was really top heavy, so when I pushed it, the handle turned sideways with the weight of it, making the hooverhead turn over. It was really heavy too & as I have rheumatoid arthritis I couldn't control the handle. At one point, it turned the hooverhead over so quickly, I lost my balance & almost tripped over it. I spent over an hour on the online chat with a stupid robot who didn't understand that I wanted to return it for a refund. I eventually did get a human who organised DPD to collect 4 days later. I waited in all day & they never turned up. I again went online & got another useless robot who after 35 minutes transferred me to a human. When I explained that DPD hadn't turned up, no appology, no reason why, she just tried making excuses & after another 20 minutes, cut me off. It was her home time I think. I called the helpline number the next morning & spoke to a really nice man who said he would re organize a collection, but that they couldn't guarantee what time they would arrive, but that they would give me a time on the collection day. As I couldn't guarantee being at home at such short notice due to commitments, he suggested I take it to a pick up point. I told him I was 70 years old, had arthritis & didn't have a car so would have to walk there, which was 1/2 a mile away. That was the only option so he sent me a returns label & asked me to call UPS to arrange a collection day with them. 4 days later, the returns label arrived & I phoned UPS. The person on the other end, didn't have a clue, I couldn't hear half of what she was saying, & had to repeat everything about 4 times. I had to spell everything out letter by letter as she kept getting it wrong. Even my house number with 2 digits she got wrong, she added an A after the number, got both numbers wrong several times & when I gave her my address it took another 10 minutes for her to get it right. It took almost 50 minutes for her to take my details & give me the day they would collect from the pick up point.
When I packed it up, I had to strap it to a trolley & then try to take it down my stairs as I live in an upstairs flat. That took me over 1/2 an hour. I then had to pull or push the trolley the 1/2 a mile to the pick up point. How I never had a heart attack I don't know. My arthritic hands were bruised & swollen on the palms & over the top of them where I had changed hands & turned my hands to hold the trolley handle which banged against the hoover box as it was so large & weighed 12 kgs. It took me almost an hour to get from my home to the shop as I had to keep stopping & swapping hands over. The whole thing from beginning to end was something you only think happens to someone else. It was bitterly cold & when I got to the pick up point, the shop wasn't open, even though I'd phoned through the day before to let them know I would be there at 10am when they opened as I had an appointment to go to after. I waited almost half an hour in the freezing weather before they finally turned up at the shop.
I know this isn't all Vax's fault, but they need to make sure the delivery companies they use are competent & turn up on the arranged day, so you don't have to do what I did. I was absolutely furious, that through no fault of mine, I had to hump a 12kg vacuum cleaner 1/2 a mile nearly killing myself in the process, because DPD couldn't be bothered to turn up & that the vacuum was useless in the first place. NEVER,NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE VAX FOR ANYTHING, THERE VACUUM WAS AN ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MONEY. I've had confirmation they have received it but am now waiting for a refund, which I hope doesn't take too long to process as I've had to buy another vacuum cleaner from a different company & both amounts are due on my credit card.”
“Recently purchased a Vax Compact Power Carpet Cleaner and had an allergic reaction to the harsh chemical cleaner solution. I can no longer use that room and the chemicals are still lingering. This product is not fit for purpose and certainly not pet friendly! My dog also had severe eye irritation. Be aware of using this product!”
“the worst company i have dealt with blade 4 lasted 12 weeks so called help line is just taped rubbish 9 emails no answer do not buy from this company”
“£432.96 worth of machine and extras mysteriously goes missing somewhere between the VAX, EVRI and DPD warehouses.
No one willing to help, VAX unwilling to refund until I’VE returned all items that haven’t even been dispatched or delivered.
They acknowledge that there’s been an issue between themselves and the couriers and confirm nothing has been dispatched or delivered, yet can’t refund me until they receive all products back.
Therefore I’m now out of pocket by £432.96. Small claims court looming for VAX unfortunately.”
