“The trip was INCREDIBLE. I can’t thank you enough for putting it together for me. The staff was super, kudos to Penelope and Amanda. The chef’s served up SPECTACULAR dishes that were so good I wanted more. Thanks for the homemade bread everyday. It was a nice touch. Our guide Israel, UNBELIEVABLE. He was such a wealth of knowledgable about the environment and the animals it gave us all a better appreciation of their world. We could have listened to him talk all day. It is obvious that he has a real passion for the preservation of the reserve and its inhabitants. The behind the scene’s staff that we didn’t really have a lot of interaction with and some we never saw were SUPER. From my room always being so clean, the escorts we had to keep us safe when moving around in the dark, and those that work hard everyday to keep Buffalo Ridge looking so great, YOU ROCK! Another thing that made the trip so special was that Buffalo Ridge is a community project. I liked the idea that I was contributing to a local village even if it was in a small way. “It was just perfect! big thank you especially to Simone! She has put in so much effort to plan this awesome and completely perfect trip. We would not change a thing in the route, activities or lodges/ camp sites. Just one small note: We‘ve had afternoon activities on days where we‘ve had to travel to the new destination at first and the information of when to be where was sometimes missing or confusing (different time on our trip website than on the voucher). That’s the only thing that can be improved. Boteti Tented Lodge was the best of all lodges - best team ever working there and the perfect stay with a nice surprise for my birthday. Thank you so much for requesting such information and forwarding it. It was a blast!”

“I can't speak highly enough of Viatu. Having never traveled to Africa before, we were a little bit apprehensive about booking the trip ourselves and decided to go with a company to support us. We were so lucky that we found Viatu, who organised the most incredible trip for us. From the moment we first reached out to Mardy from the Viatu team, right up until our flight home, Viatu were with us. They organised hotels, transfers, tours, and even a contact number that we would call any time if we had any issues. For example, on one occasion when we had an issue with payment at one of our hotels, we were able to call up Viatu who solved it straight away. Amazing to have this peace of mind. This aside, the accommodation options that Viatu picked were amazing, providing us with a trip that most tourists wouldn't have. They went above and beyond to tailor a unique and special trip in both Namibia and Rwanda and we couldn't be more grateful.”

“first thing: you must advise your customers to have a birth certificate with them, if they have children under 16 years with them. that´s not something people know. We almost failed entering namibia:-(( second: we were not happy with all the locations, not the lodges however - they were all super. However, Otjohotozu Guest farm and Sasa safri camp are located at areas, where there is not a lot to do, or what is to do is rather a long drive away. For example, instead of Otjohotozu Guest farm a location closer to Spitzkoppe would be better and instead of Sasa safri camp something closer to the tafelberg region.”

“We just got back home, after a wonderful holiday in Namibia. This land is a magical place, but thanks to Viatu team we planned the perfect trip for us, lived in wonderful accommodations and received fast and efficient assistance. “Dear Viatu-Team, yesterday we came back home from our beautiful trip to South Africa, and our hearts are full! We had an amazing trip discovering wonderful places, we‘ve met very friendly and welcoming people and we‘ve stayed in awesome hotels & lodges. We were lucky to see the „Big 5“ in less than 2 hrs of Game Drive and our rangers taught us to use our bush eyes (and also all the other senses). We discovered the beauty of watching out for animals and now we love observing whales. We felt very grateful because everybody tried to spoil us in million different ways. Everything went perfectly, also our transfers. We appresciated a lot the route of our trip because it showed us the variety of South Africa. Our trip was magic thanks to -your perfect organization -your right advices -your good taste -your empathy for us, trying to understand what was the right tour and which were the right places for us to stay. Especially we would like to credit two fantastic places we have stayed in: 1. The Mthembu Lodge, the combination of the beauty of the lodge and it’s amazing surrounding, their excellent service and their warm smiles made us feel home. Their passion for nature taught us a new sense of life. 2. The Pineapple Boutique Hotel, is truely ithe expression of “welcome” – sense of beauty, friendship, hospitality and warmth and we appresciated the position of the Sea Point neighborhood under the Lion‘s Head and very close to Camps Bay. “The trip was amazing. We visited all recommended sites and enjoyed the whole journey. People are amazing and the accommodations were excellent! However, Table Mountain was closed for a long duration due to maintanence and our trip to Robben Island was cancelled due to bad weather. Otherwise this was one of the best trips ever! “The preparation for the trip was very thorough and we enjoyed the personalised touch. During the trip we had minor problems in every single booking. To be fair, they were addressed. However nobody likes to deal with hiccups on holiday. For example, when we wanted to pay our first dinner (not included) the hotel told us that viatu insisted on paying for it. Then we received multiple reminders during the trip from viatu asking us to pay. At the end of the trip we even received an invoice which we promptly paid. All this was unnecessary. There were various other examples of viatu not vetting their service providers. For example, we were detained by the police for over thirty minutes, because our rental car had multiple issues including missing documents and unpaid fines. Our past trips with viatu were not so sloppy. In our opinion these were all viatu problems and not Rwanda problems.”

“Our trip was excellent – everything went smoothly and according to plan. When we required assistance, we were answered promptly via WhatsApp. The only things we would have changed in hindsight were the 1) Sandwich Harbour Tour, which would have been better in the afternoon instead of the morning (typically there's fog and clouds in the morning there, and we had to drive in the dark to get from Swakopmund to Walvis Bay by sunrise); 2) one night inside Etosha NP would have been ideal (we had two nights outside, but staying inside as well would have allowed observing nocturnal animals by the the waterhole and/or do a nighttime tour).”

“Hey Viatu team, We had a great and unforgettable adventure in Namibia! Thanks a lot to Barbara for this great itinery! One highlight was for sure the Etdendeka Hike! Also big thanks to Rea, who was always there to help. We will surel recommend your company. Nevertheless there is some little room for improvement. 1.) Five half-day game drives in Etosha in three days are a bit too much, especially if the ride from the lodge takes always 45 min one way. Two full day game drives would have been easier and cheaper, to be honest. 2.) Some of the trip infos in the app were misleading & incomplete, such as - At Etosha it showed only three not five game drives - Schedules were mixed up (Checkout Times with activities) - Type of accomodation (Fullboard vs. B&B) was sometimes incorrect. In most cases luckly for our advantage I really like the idea of a travel app, thats why it is so crucial that it is correct. 3.) The pickup upon arrival to the car rental did not work but we could arrange it ourselves. Thanks a lot, once again! Take care, Caro & Nils”

“We had a terrific experiene with the Viatu team. The accomodations were as described and most far exceeded our expectations. The roadtrip route was clear and well managed for the timeframe (and cost) we were visting. The team was responsive with questions and were easy to work with during the planning phase as we had changes throughout the process (incld. a new start date). It made our honeymoon planning much less stressful then it would have been on our own. I would suggest offering more activity recommendations in the portal. The recs provided were helpful, but we did do some of our own research on different activities to undertake. We would highly recommend.”

“Wonderful experience in Namibia. Lodges super comfortable and pleasures. The organizations trip was very good and adapted for us. Only few remarks: - the international licence was necessary and we haven't been noticed about that. This caused us some problems in the police checkpoints. - the activities at Sandwich harbour was actually established at 9:00, while it was written that was at 7:45 and to be 30 min in advance. At that time everything was closed. - in kramersdorf guesthouse some of the people working there asked us several time for food or help, asking explicitly to do not report this fact to the guesthouse's owner. This was not a problem for us, but just to inform you about the real sustainability of this guesthouse, hoping that nobody was working there in unproper conditions.”
