Purchased two pairs of reading glasses from the Cleveleys store 20 months ago. I was informed due to the amount I was paying the eye test would be free. This did not stop them trying to charge me for same at the time of payment. I found the quality of the glasses very poor and have not lasted, this despite them only being used in the home for reading. I was hoping they would certainly last until bi-annual eye test. I took the second pair to the store yesterday as the frame had fractured and was informed it would cost me approximately £20.00 for repair and this may only be a temporary solution. First and last time I use Vision express.

Vision Express Brent Cross used to be a good store hence why I gave it 1 stars. now I would give it nothing if I could. the staff now do not care about the customers. I walked into the store today. Stood in front of the 'Welcome Desk' had the staff ignore me for a good 10-15 minutes even though several members of staff had come to the desk. I was eventually served. I had previously bought a pair of ray-ban sunglasses from them. I asked to have new lenses places into the glasses and the current ones that I own are peeling and flaking. I asked the member of staff the cost of replacement lenses (the member of staff did not look at the screen) and was told instantly that the cost of the lenses were three times the cost of the glasses at full price on the Ray-Ban website. I also went to Ben Mirkin in Brent Cross and was told the replacement lenses including fitting would cost me £70 Clearly the staff no longer care about there customers. I will no longer recommend vision express.

I paid over £100 for 2 pairs of glasses, 1 DVB and the other Calvin Clein Jeans from the Leicester Store in Tesco at the Beaumont Leys shopping center. My husband also paid for 2 pairs of glasses on the same day. We were told it would take around a week at the beginning of March 2019, we received the text on 25th March to tell us they were ready but by this time we were out of the country on holiday without any new glasses. When we did collect them they did not have the cases to go with the glasses and gave me Ralph Lauren cases instead. Does this now mean that some poor sucker will purchase Ralph Lauren glasses and have no cases? I complained to customer services who in all fairness took action and had the store correct the error. However, the store sent me 2 replacement cases without packaging and lens cleaners, one of the cases had 2 scratches on. The stores service is below par, when you pay for new in mint condition products you expect just that. Not only did they send me what looks like none new cases they put them in a carrier bag they give you when you get glasses in store and sellotaped it and put it in the post, how unprofessional. Appalling, vision express need to correct the actions and service of this particular store asap. It is giving them a bad name and as it is in a Tesco score it is reflecting on them also. I have contacted their customer services again today and will be posting the outcome on here too.

i ordered my sons glasses 2 weeks ago and paid for them at the same time was told it takes up to 10 working days for them to come to store and they would phone me when they came in I told them its urgent as his glasses are completely broken beyond repair and he cannot see anything without them .I phoned the store on Friday 12 april was told they would be here today 17th april so just phoned them now to be told they haven't come in so they phoned labs who make there glasses to be told that the lenses wasn't any good and they knew this 3 days ago but didn't bother to let the store or anyone know so now they are saying another week if the next lenses are ok I thought VISION EXPRESS ment fast not waiting weeks once I receive these glasses my son urgently needs I will not use vision express again and will not recommend them to anyone I am due for my eyes testing and new glasses but will not be using vision express ever again when I spoke to store manager adam Blackburn he apologised but he could not give me the labs phone number so I could complain to them direct as I think its disgusting that the labs have not informed the store about this so maybe vision express need to sort there supplier out

I've always been a Specsavers customer but for convenience I changed to visions express in Tesco roborough. Bad choice. I've had an appointment booked and confirmed by text, which I took time off work for at the end of the day. I arrived and was told I was half an hour late and had now missed it. Turns out someone had clicked the wrong slot but somehow sent me the text for the slot I had agreed to. I was given lenses by the optician who knew I wear them all day and every day. I went back after a month to say my eyes were dry as anything with them and could I try something else. They passed me over to a trainee who was in her final year of study. Fine by me. She told me I shouldn't have been given these lenses for the time I wear them for! She suggested I try a set of dailies and a set of weeklies. Brilliant. I arrived to collect once I got my text and was only given dailies. I asked where the weeklies were and was told they don't give out two types of trial lenses at once!! Ok. So I tried the dailies and went for the check up. I said I liked them but still wanted to try the weekly to compare. So I was given weekly ones to try, and went for the check up after trying for a while. I said these are fine but I'll go with the daily ones. The optician hadn't saved any info on the fit of the daily ones on my check up for them! So guess what. I had to trial them AGAIN. I was furious. But I did, and went for the check up. Finally all was ok and was changed over. Except I wasn't. I waited and waited. Almost 2 months for delivery. Finally they arrived and were the OLD style lenses!! I went back to the shop and was told they can order the ones I was supposed to have. I agreed. Eventually they arrived a week later and I swapped lenses. I checked the price of the new ones were £21 rather than the £28 I'd been paying for the awful dry ones. This was all before Christmas. I've noticed tonight I am STILL paying £28. I am now done with vission express. I'm moving back to Specsavers. I've had enough. It is a total joke. I never had any of this with Specsavers!!

When I arrived I was told that there would be a delay as the technician was there to repair a lamp. Fair enough. However, 15 minutes later I was annoyed to see another patient called in for their immediately as they arrived. At the same time a technician came out to reception to say that "it's all sorted" and left. After waiting for half an hour I decided that I'd waited long enough and said that I was going to cancel my appointment, only to be told that the technician was still there. What has made this even more annoying is that I have subsequently sent 2 emails of complaint to customer services but have not received a reply in spite of their 48 hour promise. Finally, the advertised phone number for their customer services isn't recognised! I would not trust my eye care to these people.

Staff at Lincoln seemed incompetent and unhelpful. During the eye test the optician asked which of the two images is "rounder", I don't think this is the correct question. I think using the correct language during the questions is important, so that they get the correct information. He also asked questions then immediately prompted me with his own answer to the question instead of waiting for mine. (I was not even being slow) I think these factors invalidated the eye test. I didn't think the resulting prescription was right but they wouldn't take any steps at all to review or verify it and didn't seem to want to help, they just wanted me to take it as-is or leave. I left without getting the service I came for. I'm shocked that the service at Vision Express Lincoln doesn't meet a baseline level of acceptability and that the staff seem to be slightly arrogant when the flaws described above are clearly visible even to us with poor vision!

The staff at the Maidstone store are so rude. Never experienced anything like it in my life. Made to feel very unwelcome and disatissfied with the service. I will never be returning as I think the service is appalling. Couldn’t fault the eye exam itself, just the staff once I came out. It seems as though no one wanted to bother to help me. Lost a loyal customer.

Firstly I booked online appt for this Sunday online for my toddler nephew. I walked a mile and a half only to be told that there are no appointments with optician on Sunday and that minimum age for the test is 4yrs. I can't see anywhere on the website regarding ages. It just says under 16. Also Sunday slit was open to book into online.

Spent 150£ on 2 lenses who got chipped in 4 months of use. Poor quality, expensive. Will never buy again from them. Neither recommend. Keep away, save your time and money going somewhere else.

A young scruffy looking assistant wound me up so much. Rather than attend to my daughter with ASD that has a hole in her retina and was suffering from a unexplained issue with her eye, they were more interested in getting me to sign a form, (that was already signed) I am no longer welcome in the store, I say good riddance!

Had a contract for contact lens with tesco and then vision express took over and my monthly payment increases from £9.33 to £19.80 that is an increase of 112% within 3 months when i contacted them the attitude is like it or lump it, so off i went. Plenty of opticians out there

One lady member of staff at their Bath office was so impatient when i went to collect my glasses and told her they felt too loose even after tightening them and then i also found out that they made me pay full price for designer glasses but then gave me the demo ones on the floor that everyone had been trying on including myself. No wonder they felt loose! Will not recommend them or ever use them again! I was left furious!

I waited2 weeks for my appointment at tesco lee mill. Eye test and contact lense, I buy my lenses on line and have done for 20 years. I was informed by the optician that I needed the packet so she could check the size, I have never been asked the size before as I buy else where and only needed a new perscription and eye check. She refused to do my eye check. It was a complete waste of my time, as I could of gone else ware with no problems. with better service.

Vision Express took over local Tesco opticians in the King's Lynn superstore and as a previous Tesco customer I got an invite for my eye test from them. First impression was very good, certainly the person who conducted the eye test was thorough and helpful. Unfortunately, the wheels fell off when it came to actually purchasing the glasses. Not only had the prices rocketed but the selection of frames was very limited. In particular the aviator-style frames I like weren't on offer - although when I went back about a month later they were in stock. I bought a pair of reading glasses and a pair of varifocals at a total cost of £251. The reading glasses are fine but the varifocals are useless - they're OK round my house but the range of focus is way too restricted for driving. I've been back twice and various adjustments were made that gave a slight improvement but in the end I've gone back to the glasses Tesco supplied for driving. With the VE lenses nothing is in focus over about 40 metres, with the old Tesco lenses everything is clear out to probably 100-150 metres - the VE glasses are simply too dangerous to use. It's now over the 60-day return period so basically they've taken my money and not provided the glasses I need.

11 week wait and counting for glasses. 2.5 week wait and counting for a reply from customer services email. No reply from customer services 'manager'. No one answers the phone. No communication from VE despite trying to chase up these glasses many times. Staff in store are rude and unhelpful. So far I feel like I've been ripped off of over £500 and don't know what to do.
