Avoid if simply ordering glasses via their website, glasses were delivered with the incorrect magnification despite being provided a clear prescription at the time of purchase as requested, they have gone on to deny this, promise responses to no avail, and are largely ignoring the issue the supporting customer service is non-existent, pretty disappointing in 2026, and they are not the cheapest. Expect better from a high street name. Spend your money elsewhere.

I've had two tests. I can't even see out of right lens. I've had severe nausea dizzyness they're to strong I've got a complex prescription. I'm going back to my original opticians at wards or lad and turner both are very good. Don't go to vision express. Find an independent optician.youll probably pay more but the results will be better

0 stars! Bromley store - Appalling customer service from the day I paid for my glasses. Given wrong prescription and ignored me for months and months, they damaged 2 pairs of glasses. Complaint after complaint and still tried to cover their mistakes. No one can be bothered to read your file. They all profess their experience but really have no clue. Won’t refund the glasses they broke and said it happens with children. I’m an adult that’s been wearing glasses for almost 40 years. When you think you’ve reached the complaints number, it’s not, it’s just customer service. They will apologise and tell you they’ll ring you back and never do. Happened 3 times. The try every way to not answer the questions you ask. I asked the same 3 questions and was on the call for one hour, and they still wouldn’t avoided the questions, and that was with one person. Went back to store over and over again. These are simple facts. I won’t even begin on the ludicrous information I was given. Don’t allow them to mess with your vision.

Had a CL assessment in Sept 25. Prescribed CL's and signed up to the monthly scheme. I heard nothing so after a month I contacted my local store and was told my order would be chased up i could expect the lenses within the next 2 days. Another 2 weeks went by, nothing. Tel again and was told my order needed to be put through again, no explanation, told the lenses would be sent direct within a week. Last week Dec still nothing. Phoned again and asked for a refund. Jan 6th 2026 went to store and asked for a refund. No apologies or explanation. Told I could keep the lenses if they turned up ! Still awaiting refund !

I was disgusted with vision express in broughton chester not only did they get my name wrong, they lost the glasses i chose, but eventually found them, then they fitted the wrong lenses in them, effecting my eyesight causing blurred vision snd headaches totally irresponsible, i would not recommend these opticians to anyone if they think it was ok to do all that and sweep it under the carpet they are very much mistaken how dare they toy with my eyesight like that, they should be sacked as the next poor person could end up blind, i just think everyone should be aware how they treat you not a care in the world for your health. They offered me £32.00 compensation which they could not give me as I wouldn’t give them my card details over the phone I told them to send me a cheque they said they don’t do that. Hope no one else goes through what I went through.

The worst company - they are completely dishonest and lie! I ordered 6 months of contact lenses and VE sent me the wrong ones such that I could not see and could not work and could not drive. I asked them to correct the order and they refused! They tried to tell me I ordered the wrong ones, then they tried to pretend my prescription was incorrect - all complete lies and I sent them confirmation of such. Then they said I first had to return them and it would take a minimum of 12 further days before they could process this at their end. I have returned their lenses and contacted my credit card company to instigate a charge back - DO NOT USE this company they are disorganised and dishonest!

I would never go back to Vision Express. I've worn glasses for 40 years and never received the amount of stress that I received from Kingswood, Bristol, England. Marcus, a chap that works there the most, is very rude and wouldn't help me. I had to visit another store for help.

I am very disappointed In the way staff at Dadar east branch have treated myself. I was in india for 6 weeks and use you and have purchased many glasses from UK vision express. As I had a test there recently I thought I would order two pairs of bi-focals with transition lens. They instead that I have another eye test. I explained that I wanted to double check there results against the one for the uk. The results where astonishing.. my reading numbers are and have been 2.5 from uk, the numbers the Dadar East branch was 1.5, the long distance where also as bad. I was astonished d so I went to a store next door and there readings come back as my uk numbers. If I had used your services then I would have had a terrible set of very expensive glasses that where not "FIT FOR PURPOSE" its very worrying and Im sure you will say you are very sorry, I will also leave reviews to this effect so someone else does not have the same problem. I was not happy at all with staff and they way they treated me with there sales tactics, I have been a sales manager for Mercedes Benz and Lexus in the uk and I would fire a salesman if they treated a customer in this way or retrain them. a very unhappy custom, I do not see the reason behind there actions.

I bought 2 pair of glasses from the shop in Windsor. The service seemed good and the staff friendly. However, I was surprised at how much I had to pay for them - £535! I opted for the better quality lenses so I thought that would be worth it and I was told they are "scratch resistant". Within 2 months, I noticed 3 parallel scratch lines on one of the lenses. I was very surprised at how these scratches appeared as I took such good care of the glasses. I took them back to the shop, expecting an apology and a replacement lens only to be told that I have to pay for a new lens even though it was within the 100 days of returning the glasses if I'm not happy with them. They then informed me that although the lenses are "scratch resistant", they are not "scratch proof". I was very disappointed and complained to their Head Office only to receive the same reply. I have since noticed another scratch on the other lens which I again don't know how it happened. All that I can conclude is that they use the poorest quality lenses. Will never use them again.

The optician advised me to try contact lenses with a stronger prescription to help ease my headaches, so I ordered what they recommended. They delivered lenses for my original prescription instead, which I returned via their Evri free returns link. 5 weeks later I am still chasing a refund and now they are ignoring my emails. Avoid them, use another provider. They are incompetent.

Disappointed Went into the Guildford store 5 members of staff .looking at glasses for 14 minutes and was ignored nobody came up to me to ask me if I needed any help Perhaps if I had a suit I would of been approached but no Glad you can turn custom away

The choice to use ERVI as their returns courier is appalling. Using scan codes even more of a nightmare. Should you want to try glasses and it amounts to quit a bit of money don't take the risk! Im having problems with ERVI and Vision express's back end for understanding how to track a parcel where ERVI hasnt provided a tracking number apart from a now expired scan code but two out of 4 parcels was sent successfully but the other two conveniently lost.

Vision express wellington square Stockton. I attended for an eye test. I had booked the appointment online. They did not have the correct details - in fact they had details for my mother who passed away in 2024. Unacceptable - I didn’t stay and I will not use them in future

Over the past month or so I have had lots of dealings with Vision Express and each one has left me feeling that they are not the company they were. The first issue was after my eye test I was told it would cost over £400 to put new lenses in my existing frames but a new pair would only cost £200!!!! How can a company justify that when we’re all supposed to be re-purposing instead of buying new? Second issue was that I wanted to change the date of my direct debit for my subscription ( due to salary pay date change) and was told that it was impossible to do, even though every other company I contacted did it very easily. The third issue was when I rang them to chase up my contact lens delivery to be told that it hadn’t been delivered as the box had been damaged and returned to them by the delivery company. Vision Express however didn’t think that they needed to send out a replacement!! The person I spoke to was very nonchalant about the missing delivery and couldn’t really understand my questioning when I was going to revive my lenses. I’m really unhappy with the level of service on all 3 occasions.

I had to have my eyes tested twice by vision espress. I couldnt even see through the first prescription glasess as the lenses were so blurred. The second prescrition glasess were the same. There was 100% magnification difference between the two prescriptions. The manager in the Weston Super Mare store needs to be retrained in customer service. The rest of the staff were lovely. Working in retail myself the manager was exceptionally incapable and lacked the necessary skills on the data base system and pleasant communication skills with the customers. Appalling attitude and display of total ignorance. I highly recommend do not get your eyes tested in this shop.

As one of the earliest customers I can safely say that this Branch (Brent Cross) and the business as a whole that was at one time a place of excellence, has progressively deteriorated beyond belief. Seems solely focused on selling effort but failing to deliver, and miserably so. Most of the staff seems to be lacking training, are clueless and abrupt if you are lucky to access them. This is no longer a fit place for me prescription glasses … my eyes are too precious to me. So after nearly thirty years it’s curtains!

I just had a conversation with Florian in Croydon store. They were extremely rude to me. I felt attacked when talking to them. They did not let me talk and cut me off every time I tried talking. When I finally tried to say something they cut me off again by repeating ‚can I finish’ in a very rude manner with annoyed tone in their voice. I almost cried after this conversation as I feel I was mistreated. I asked for their name to know who confirmed my contact lenses order and they hung up on me. I called in again and asked for their name and they told me the name of the person who made my order. I asked for their name again and they said they are not the ones ordering the lenses. I said I want to know who confirmed the order with me and they finally told me their name is Florian and promptly hung up on me again in the middle of me talking. This person needs an extensive customer care training! I’ve never had worse customer service experience and I work in customer service for the past 12 years. I’m beyond disappointed and this experience makes me want to change my opticians just so I don’t have to speak to this person again. What a horrible experience!

I bought a pair of Rayban glasses from you 6 months ago, the frame completely snapped when they fell off a kitchen surface on to the floor (so not far). Took them in to my local store in Exeter, they would not refund me! The glasses cost nearly £300, all they seemed interest in was booking me in for my next ey test! Never again
