Over the past month or so I have had lots of dealings with Vision Express and each one has left me feeling that they are not the company they were. The first issue was after my eye test I was told it would cost over £400 to put new lenses in my existing frames but a new pair would only cost £200!!!! How can a company justify that when we’re all supposed to be re-purposing instead of buying new? Second issue was that I wanted to change the date of my direct debit for my subscription ( due to salary pay date change) and was told that it was impossible to do, even though every other company I contacted did it very easily. The third issue was when I rang them to chase up my contact lens delivery to be told that it hadn’t been delivered as the box had been damaged and returned to them by the delivery company. Vision Express however didn’t think that they needed to send out a replacement!! The person I spoke to was very nonchalant about the missing delivery and couldn’t really understand my questioning when I was going to revive my lenses. I’m really unhappy with the level of service on all 3 occasions.

I had to have my eyes tested twice by vision espress. I couldnt even see through the first prescription glasess as the lenses were so blurred. The second prescrition glasess were the same. There was 100% magnification difference between the two prescriptions. The manager in the Weston Super Mare store needs to be retrained in customer service. The rest of the staff were lovely. Working in retail myself the manager was exceptionally incapable and lacked the necessary skills on the data base system and pleasant communication skills with the customers. Appalling attitude and display of total ignorance. I highly recommend do not get your eyes tested in this shop.

As one of the earliest customers I can safely say that this Branch (Brent Cross) and the business as a whole that was at one time a place of excellence, has progressively deteriorated beyond belief. Seems solely focused on selling effort but failing to deliver, and miserably so. Most of the staff seems to be lacking training, are clueless and abrupt if you are lucky to access them. This is no longer a fit place for me prescription glasses … my eyes are too precious to me. So after nearly thirty years it’s curtains!

I just had a conversation with Florian in Croydon store. They were extremely rude to me. I felt attacked when talking to them. They did not let me talk and cut me off every time I tried talking. When I finally tried to say something they cut me off again by repeating ‚can I finish’ in a very rude manner with annoyed tone in their voice. I almost cried after this conversation as I feel I was mistreated. I asked for their name to know who confirmed my contact lenses order and they hung up on me. I called in again and asked for their name and they told me the name of the person who made my order. I asked for their name again and they said they are not the ones ordering the lenses. I said I want to know who confirmed the order with me and they finally told me their name is Florian and promptly hung up on me again in the middle of me talking. This person needs an extensive customer care training! I’ve never had worse customer service experience and I work in customer service for the past 12 years. I’m beyond disappointed and this experience makes me want to change my opticians just so I don’t have to speak to this person again. What a horrible experience!

I bought a pair of Rayban glasses from you 6 months ago, the frame completely snapped when they fell off a kitchen surface on to the floor (so not far). Took them in to my local store in Exeter, they would not refund me! The glasses cost nearly £300, all they seemed interest in was booking me in for my next ey test! Never again

I recently purchased spectacles from Vision Express spectacle for ₹4,000, expecting good quality. However, I was extremely disappointed with the product. The frame and lenses feel no different from low-quality local spectacles that cost a fraction of the price. The build quality is poor, and the durability is questionable. It is concerning that such subpar products are being sold at a premium price. Customers expect value for their money, but this purchase did not meet even basic quality standards. I would not recommend buying spectacles from this store.

Prescription was wrong. I ordered glasses online using this prescription and can't use them. Specsavers rechecked eyes and the prescription was completely different. Vision express won't own up to the mistake. Very unprofessional company will not use again

Just to make it clear, I give full marks to the opimitrist who did my eye test in Bracknell branch. It went downhill after choosing my frame and lens for my eyeglass. I didn't have my old eyeglass with me so i showed the receipt to my wife and she pointed out the numbers of "dispensing charges" that increases by £30 per line. 1- £30 dispensing charge for eye test 2- £60 dispensing charge for frame 3- £90 dispensing charge for lens... In total, I was charged £419 for a £130 frame, a pair of varifocal lenses and the eye test. I went back instantly and demanded a refund... If only I knew I get charged dispensing charges that increases by 30 per line, I wouldn't have bothered going there since every optician in town does the same for the eye test. In the end I gotten 2 pairs of eyeglass for £260 somewhere else and plenty of spare change. For those who had been there recently, I would advice to check their receipts for the so called "dispensing charge " and have them explain.

Truly awful. They supplied 2 pairs of glasses that I had to return as the prescription they gave me was incorrect to the one I was given. So They agreed to replace the lenses and I got a text 4-5 days later to tell me they were ready. I went to collect them and unbelievably they were still wrong. So they checked the new lenses against the initial prescription & they were correct - apparently! So they gave me a new eye examination and it turns out the original prescription they gave me was incorrect - how this can happen is beyond me, the opticians are supposed to be experts. So now I’m waiting for the glasses to be returned to me with the new prescription, let’s hope these are correct. I accept that mistakes happen, but what I would like is for someone to actually be held accountable for the issues I have experienced. All I got when I asked how this could happen was a lot of shoulder shrugging and absolutely no willingness to take responsibility. I’m pretty sure that this review will fall on deaf ears but if I can stop it happening to someone else then I have done some good. Once this is resolved I will never go back to vision express.

I had my first eye test and glasses ordered on 26/10/24 the staff I met that day were fantastic. I have received a message that my glasses are ready for collection, unfortunately after a few days I went back to change the lenses as they were wrong, I have met with a French gentleman he was so helpful and friendly he said that's not a problem and they can change the lenses and they will let me know when they're ready. Today 19/11/24 I went to pick them up and I have met with a lady I don't know her name, first she took long time to get the glasses from the storage or office however I can see her chatting and laughing with her colleague in the corridor but it was not an issue, however I saw it as unprofessional. When she gave me the glasses the frame was not the same ones I chooses at the beginning, but she checked on the system and she assured me they're same serial number and she is sure they're the one, obviously she is wrong as the ones I choose were black and the one she gave me is brown and I always hate brown colour, she said with unprofessional manner and careless attitude ((DO YOU WANT THEM OR YOU CAN HAVE REFUND?)) I told her I need my glasses I choose, I need to speak with a manager because I felt she will never help me with this attitude. She called a gentleman his name Saif, when he checked he found they're different glasses and they make an upgrade for me, I told him I don't need the upgrade glasses I need the ones I choose I don't like this colour, the lady replied ((WHY YOU DON'T NEED THEM THEY ARE MORE EXPENSIVE)) I said now you are forcing me to buy a glasses I don't like? I don't understand! She is gone without apologizing, she didn't offer to choose another frame, she hasn't offer any type of compensations, Saif did ask me to choose another frame but the situation was bad I couldn't stay more to choose and I will not wait another 1 month to get my very sample reading glasses, so I have asked Saif for refund. The attitude I had with your team member the lady, was very bad. I don't know the reason it was my first time meeting her, so maybe it is something about the race or colour or religion? Her attitude was insulting and rude. So now I ended up after 1 month waiting for my glasses with nothing! Just with a bad attitude from your staff. Please can you get back to me with an explanation why she was doing this? You can ask Saif for her name as she wasn't wearing a name badge.

Awful experience was diverted 5 times due to lack of staff (however there was enough staff available to do the job done) rude employees and reception staff make you wait a lot when there isn’t even customers inside and then book you for the next week and get same treatment again they do not care about your time they just want to get paid absolutely horrendous I wouldn’t even give them this star. They also proceed to call you a lot of times in the week time and change your appoiment even though you might not be able to be there as you got work or other things to do I’ve been there 7 times for the same thing and still proceeded to be rude and ignorant would not recommend spending your time and money on this company just awful. On my last appointment I was poked in the eye by one of the staff as they were wearing nails just pathetic!!!

Arrive 10 minutes late for an appointment due to roadworks and traffic. Waited a further few minutes in store whilst the only available staff member chatted away to another customer. Then to be told the optician did not want to take my appointment and i must rebook - next available slot in 2 weeks. I simply booked with Boots instead for next day.

Shocking company and shocking customer service. Will do all I can to help people avoid this company. After an optometrist discovered a disease in my eye she failed to do the basic and also written rule of a health care practitioner and refer me to a GP & or a hospital. I was ignored for 2 weeks and had to take action in my own hands. I obtained images that had been taken by vision express during my eye test and sent those off to my gp off my own back (this should have been done by them immidietly after my appointment this is part of their duty of care) i was referred to the hospital as an emergency within 48hours of my gp receiving the images vision express took. she was that concerned for my health after reviewing the exact same images she made me an emergency hospital appointment Nearly 2 years of hospital visits and tests, pain in my eye and suffering with very bad light sensitivity with no thanks to vision express. If had chosen to just ignore this and not visit my gp would I have lost my vision? How much pain would I have suffered? My GP immediately referred me to the hospital yet this absolutely shocking company and optometrist did nothing. Their customer service are just as bad and will palm you off and then apologise and admit in "hindsight" they should have referred me..yes you should have!! Don't put your health in this companies hands, they only want your money and will then do all they can to deny any responsibility

3 of my local stores refused to refund me for glasses that were the wrong prescription. The fourth store I went to refunded me in 5 minutes with no fuss or questions ask. I was also lied to by the first store I went to. Would never use vision express again.

I had eye test at Sutton Coldfield I've tried to wear my new glasses for about 3 weeks. I've ended up with migraine and all the associated visual disturbance and pain in my left side of face they're far to strong. I will be going to get a refund of £200 and will be returning to my usual opticians

Vision Express say they 'Take Vision Seriously' which is their tagline. But they don't. Complaints are ignored by their customer services, or they appear to deliberately misunderstand to hope you will go away. Our loyalty to this brand has been misplaced.
