Buying glasses after an eye test with helpful friendly staff no problem with that Unfortunately next to me was a family eating sandwiches and having cold drinks on the table used for choosing and ordering glasses. This was not a baby being fed in a pram Crumbs everywhere not the hygienic atmosphere you want. The staff are obviously too worried to approach or ask them not to eat or drink in the shop. Unless I am wrong and it’s allowed to eat and drink in a semi medical environment!

After explaining to a friendly assistant about a problem I've had with some glasses that i had to take back to the opticians in town who did my previous eye test as they were almost the same as my previous prescription and i was struggling to see properly , she advised i obtain the prescriptions so they could compare their findings with theirs . An appointment was arranged and nothing else was said. I attended the appointment and had the usual eye tests carried out by a professional assistant . I was then called by the optician and had a quick chat explaining the problem that i had. The optician was vert professional and went on to say that she could carry out a further test but if the prescription was the same as the other one there would be a charge ! I was very surprised , why was this not explained to be prior to the assistant arranging the appointment ? I left without having the test done and had wasted my time as well as the busy opticians. I shall not be going back to Vision Express ! Im sure the staff must have training and are advised about what they should pass on to customers!

I waited 12mins for an answer to Glos Vision Express this morning. All I heard was "your call is very important to us, please hold, one of our staff etc etc etc. repeatedly on O1452689478 is this number correct and why did a member of staff not answer? ????????

Everything was fine until I got my new frames and prescription, I wore the glasses for a solid week and was getting dizziness and eye pain behind my eyes, went to specsavers for a second opinion and it turned out vison express had put my prescription too high and added a lens that made black more bold, went back for a refund as I wasn’t satisfied and was greeted very awkwardly and it made me really uncomfortable I nearly had to plead for a refund even though it is in there 100 day return policy, felt really unwelcomed so I will never go back

I don't want to be critical but in this instance I have to be. On Dec 21st 2021 I ordered replacement lens for a pair of my own Silhouette rimless frames from the Trowbridge Branch in Wiltshire. After about 6-weeks I called to find out why I had not received my glasses. I was told that 3 sets of lens, manufactured by a company by the name of Optimum had been rejected by VE due to a chip/scratches etc. I found this barely believable. I asked why Optimum were providing the lenses as I had purchased a varifocal high quality lens that I understood would be from Rodenstock or Hoya etc, in other words a well-known brand. So why were VE using a different manufacturer? The reason I was given was that my frames could not take what they called "out of range lens". Now my prescription is fairly standard and that type of frame I had been using for a very long time without issues. A number of calls were made along with emails to get to the bottom of this. I was concerned that the Optimum company that had apparently supplied 3 sets of inferior lenses and so I contacted Optimum. I explained the position to a woman that could not care less and who put the phone down on me without showing one word of concern or even uttering an apology. According to the Trowbridge Manager, who has done his best to help, the issue apparently was due to an incorrect PC issue! The result of this issue is that today, after 9 weeks waiting the glasses have been delivered to me. I have requested from VE some kind of proof as to what really happened at their end and email proof to me has been promised on two occasions. To date 23/02/2022 I have received nothing, not even a response to the email sent to the Trowbridge branch and apart from verbal apologies I have not received anything in writing. Quite frankly, until I receive some proof of what transpired I am doubtful of the story I have been told. On the plus side, the first set of replacement lenses to another frame were fine and I have now been promised a free Silhouette frame and lenses when I return to the UK as a result of the fiasco. I would also add that the Optician who examined my sight was extremely good. In hindsight should have gone to my local independent optician - quite possibly yes.

I've been a customer for several years and (although I find them quite expensive) I've been reasonably happy with the service provided, until now. I had an appointment at Peterborough branch for 10am and at 10.30am got up and walked out without being seen, despite the store being very quiet. I now have an appointment at Specsavers. What is the point of making an appointment??

My partner and I both bought glasses from vision express in Huntingdon almost 18 months ago we both were reasonably happy with our new glasses until just before November 2020. when within a month of each other our glasses developed the same fault on the arm on the glasses(see photo below) we approached the vision express shop to enquire about the guarantee on the glasses and was politely told that the guarantee was only valid for one year (even though on there website it stated it could be up to 2 years) I did not have any reason to dispute there word...so basically this review is to make people aware when purchasing glasses from vision express ..to ask about the quality of the product and also the length of the guarantee...to make clear it's not an issue with staff it's the actual product .

I had an appointment at 12 noon on Friday 7th August and whilst I was seen immediately for the initial tests but then told there was a 30 to 45 minutes delay to see the optician. I finally got to see him at 12.40pm I have to say that whilst the staff were very apologetic and I understand the current restrictions the lack of staff will have a negative effect on your business

The staff were great, very helpful. Only let down by the awful selection of glasses in store.

Ladies were lovely who dealt with me. I did however feel obliged to having to buy glasses there and then. Ended up spending £160 on 2 pairs of glasses. Which is a lot of money for someone who is currently on maternity leave and has 2 kids too!

This is the 2nd time that my Partner and I have had our tests at the Loughton Store. Very friendly and thorough however noticed this time that there were far more Designer Glasses on offer than bog standard ones hence a much higher Bill this time !! Also we found that the Staff member that sorted out the lenses hurried the procedure a bit and we ended up buying new fangled lenses that cost much more than the norm and because he spoke quietly we didn't really get the jist of why they were the better ones to go for. Hopefully we will notice the difference. Don't really think that they are living up to their name Vision 'Express' as I had to wait 2 weeks for my new glasses...I left a second pair for new lenses and they too will be another 2 weeks !!!!!! May try out Spec Savers next time (when next test is due in 2yrs) as A) they have just arrived at our Local Supermarket and B) hopefully they won't be as expensive.

Whilst staff are friendly and helpful and my varifocal and reading glasses arrived within a reasonable time; despite chasing up twice now I am still waiting for my prescription sunglasses after almost a month! They should be renamed Vision SLOW as this is not an Express service! Extremely disappointed.

Bring back the instore lab. I had to wait a full week to have new lenses fitted in my existing glasses. It used to be great when you had an eyetest...chose your frames....then went off for a coffee and ...2 hrs later you collected your glasses.job done. I had to go and buy a cheap pair of readers as i dont have a spare. Definitely not as good service as the old days

I am deaf, but no interpreter could be found by vision Express i went along with my daughter for the eye exam anyway, lady there kept asking my daughter the questions made me feel small, i had the exam with another lady, she was nice, after i was told i needed 2 pairs of glasses but one would be half price. I chose the glasses but wish i was left alone to choose, but felt pushed to choose quickly as the man stayed with us, he said after he had done a deal on the second pair of glasses,i didnt know what he meant, but when i had to pay for them it was same cost as that marked up but with no discount for the 2nd pair i had, i didnt argue about it just put it down to experience and i wont be back there anyway
