“While these cost a lot compared to iron plates, they cost less than any other manufacturer's rubber coated change plate and are better. I bought these because my first weightlifting bar's selves are downright ugly after taking the abuse of loose fitting iron plates. No functional loss, and this point isn't to look good, but it is a bonus - especially now that I'm upgrading to an Elieko bar. But these do have three functional advantages over iron change plates: they make WAY less noise when the bar is dropped, they fit really well so they don't move around much if you put them outside the collar (yes, I'm one of the two weightlifters who uses collars), and they are VERY accurate in weight. Vulcan claims .5% potential variation. That's 0.0125 for a 2.5lbs plate and 0.025 for a 5lbs plate. All my plates came out to be 0.01lbs light. Let me elaborate on this weight issue. If you're like me, you've spent a lot of money on bumpers that claim to be within grams of stated weight. I weigh all my plates. All my bumpers are all within 10 grams - regardless of stated weight. Yet I was using iron change plates. I weighted them - my 2.5s were 2.98 and 2.89lbs. My 5s were 5.25 and 5.2lbs. The up-side, I'm stronger than I thought, The down-side is obvious. With these plates, I know exactly what's on the bar. I like that.”

“These are of great quality. They fit snug on the bar, as to not cause damage during lifts. I spent a lot of time researching to figure out which company produced the best quality 2.5/5lb plates for the cost. Vulcan was the best choice in my opinion. I just wished they had .125 lbs as well.”

“To begin with these are priced super competitively, plus with the 10% discount it was even better. I've only got to use them a few sessions so far, but they have been great. Not only have they performed well they look really good as well. That isn't important but nice that they look good, and are made in the USA. Highly recommend these for anyone looking for a set of bumpers.”

“After looking around to the point of exhaustion I came to the conclusion that when considering price vs quality, these are the best around. The time from purchase to delivery wasn't as short as I wanted it to be. However, that was because the 45 lb bumpers were on backorder. That being said, the time it took for Vulcan to receive new 45 lb bumpers and ship them was still relatively fast. The plates (45, 25, 10) I ordered are straight and solid. The inner ring is well set in place and smooth. All around pleased. These are great quality plates that shouldn't give anyone a reason not to believe that they will last them a lifetime as long as they use them as intended.”

“I got them one week ago and I left them outside under the sun for five days because the smell was somehow strong and I am going to use them indoor, in my living room, not in the garage. Now the smell is gone and I enjoy immensely these low bounce plates. Ad the price is very convenient too.”

“We purchased the 280 lb bumper plates for our home gym and we are VERY pleased with them. We shopped around for a set of plates for a while and Vulcan had the best price and free shipping....you can't beat that! The plates were backorded when we purchased them but once the plates came in they shipped very quickly. There was a problem with the shipper losing 2 boxes and Vulcan was very quick to respond and sent out new weights. Vulcan's customer service was top rate! The plates are well-made and we recommend others in the market for bumper plates to buy Vulcan's weights!”
