“My only negative critique is that getting ahold of the electrical testing equipment (resistance/ohmeter testing) was very difficult. Unless you know the right person, you will likely have to rent or purchase them (which is pricey). Even the professional electrician installing a variety of items in my home did not have all the equipment necessary to do the final testing. I had to rent the meter required to send 1,000 volts through the system. The floor works great so far, but that testing is not easily done by a homeowner. Nonetheless, you require it for the warrantee, indicating that you have likely had difficulty with the product in the past.”

Hi John - Thank you for sharing this. When it comes to issues like this, we highly recommend customers call us for assistance. We can walk through certain scenarios and if there is something someone doesn't have access to we can provide recommendations, etc. Most electricians have this equipment and most DIY do not do the electrical work to connect the system this is done by an electrician. “The first kit I ordered for a different repair came with two wires, one was a ground wire, all went well for that install. The second repair is a different story. Although all of the pics on your site and others show two wires in the pkg, only one was actually supplied. Luckily I did not need the second wire but if I had, I would have been extremely irritated to have wait for another kit while walking on a cold bathroom floor. Maybe you should update your pics of you actually provide.”

“With winter approaching and our bathroom floor heat not working I was concerned about the repair. Our local "craftsmen" tend to go for the big solution, like tearing up the marble floor and replacing the entire system. After reading that the mesh lasts 15-20 years and controllers last 2-5 years, I decided to try replacing the controller myself. It took about 20 minutes and has been working perfectly, a real DIY success story.”

“Couldn’t find the mat I needed at my usual electrical supply house (I’ve been an electrician for 45 yrs) I ordered the NuHeat mat at Warmyourfloors.com. The price was competitive and the delivery was in about 4 days, in came in time to go right on to the job site!”

Linda, The repair kit you purchased is used to repair a damaged heating wire. The heating wires are always under your floor so unless the finished surface was not covering the heating wire, you have to pull up parts of the floor in order to expose the wire for repairs.
