The location is good.but the instructions on how to get there are wrong.Once in the site there are no signposts to reception. We were disappointed there were no Riverside walks without taking a charged for ferry. The elan disposal site marked on the plan they gave us was not there.and building works for a new harbour side were in progress..But the pub food was superb and very friendly staff

Lovely peaceful location & views from oulton penthouse. Accommodation needs some refurb&tlc - saggy creaky bed mattress, dodgy patio doors, tired lounge chairs , leaky sink/radiator/loo. Pilot day boat was quite basic , noisy engine, stiff steering, no windscreen wipers, dirty WC. Waveney inn takeaway food used twice v.good.

Great location with views of the marina and nature reserve. Our lodge was comfortable and the hot tub was heated for our arrival. The pub delivered food the first night and we had breakfast on our last day, which was very good. Lovely break with kids and dog!

We really enjoyed our recent stay and were so happy with our choice of lodge this time. Clean and easy our family including the dogs had a great few days.

Peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Just what we needed

Lovely accommodation and facilities on site. Definitely had all the things you needed for a short or long stay. The only downside is the restrictions on using the hottub in the evenings there should be some signs up to specify ‘appropriate times’.

Very nice friendly site, unfortunately due to Covid the pool was closed, I’d like to go back when open.

had a superpitch pitch no 6 could not connect to the waste as it was located uphill near the power and water point all other pitches the waste was located in the middle of the pitch other than that we enjoyed the site

Stayed at Barn Owl, which is a beautiful lodge overlooking the marsh. The lodge is very comfortable and very well equipped (I feel it would benefit from having an outdoor shower by the hot tub). Will definitely look at returning!

Have live in Lowestoft for over 50 years yet never discovered this place. Needed a local short break. Fantastic lodge and hot tub. Only issue is light outside lodge that comes on shines too bright into main bedroom even with curtains drawn. Need thicker curtains.

Had a lovely stay in one of the lodges. Such a great little quiet backwater for relaxation. A trip up the river on a boat is also well worth the time. Lots of wildlife to see, lots of birds including Marsh Harriers, hares and muntjac deer .

We love it here! Second time we have been. Such a relaxed place. Lodge was lovely and clean. Hot tub is a must! Food at the inn is reasonably priced and good quality. Pool slot was easy and well organised. The children love the boats and park. My only recommendation would be the bug hotel area... needs a little TLC.

Although it took us a little while to reach the waveny river centre in the dark due to badly posted signage about road works although not their own fault. We really enjoyed the stay, was very clean and a free apple juice on arrival was a lovely touch! The hot tub was lovely with an incredible view where we sat and watched day turn to night. This was cleaned and checked every day. We enjoyed a swim on our second day. Although the weather didn’t permit for doing too much outside. Thank you for a really lovely stay, was thoroughly enjoyed!

Enjoyed our time at Waveney river centre but felt Thorpe Lodge was in need of a little TLC as worn and dirty in places.

The cabin was really lovely. Very cosy and clean. Only suggestions would be to make the hot tub a little more private as it was very exposed at Bungay Spa. Putting some trellis up would help. The cabin could have also benefited from a little more crockery, glasses and cooking utensils.

We found Polaris to be comfortable, however the water tank is far too small and there was a large opening in the floor under the sofa which led to very unpleasant smells from the toilet .

Nice, comfortable and homely accommodation. En-suite bathroom was a bit tired but otherwise well presented elsewhere. Hot tub great too. Wider facilities throughout the site were ok, pool was small, simple but clean. Reception, shop and restaurant were underwhelming. Would have liked more options made available by reception to explore The broads
