Fantastic campsite with all the amenities you need, great playground for the kids. Unfortunately the food at the Waveney Inn does not meet expectations. They forgot some of our order and the food that did come was burnt, no discount offered for forgetting meals.

Location was lovely & we were blessed with good weather, however the campsite was very tightly packed together. Not much room for anyone to move & difficult to park cars. We hired a yurt & due to sites been so closely packed, we struggled to get our car in & out. Also found the Yurts to be VERY basically furnished. Considering the price paid per night, there could at least have been a table/unit for 'kitchen' supplies & even a kettle. Items in the yurt, were not in the best condition & decking needed maintenance. Felt it was a lot of money for what you are offering. We also found that the ablutions were acceptable, but in need of updating. hairdryers not working, toilet seats missing etc. There were signs everywhere saying that the ablutions are continously being monitored due to covid conditions, but there was no evidence of this & simple items such as toilet paper where not replenished. Some toilets were without paper the entire long weekend! Whilst the staff were friendly & helped where they could, I found that not enough info was given about the restaurant & how it operated. We were told we could only book for dinner at 6:30 pm Friday evening, only to find the restaurant was practically empty! On Monday morning our family wanted to have breakfast & were promptly told that if we had not booked or were not staying in a Lodge, we couldn't have a table. There were only 2 tables in the restaurant. Nowhere on the info in the Yurt provided about the restaurant hours did it say booking was required. There was very little available in the shop, after reading on the site you could get your daily supply of goods. Couldn't understand this as we were in the midst of summer holidays & venue was close to capacity. In general, whilst the location on the river was lovely, we felt it was overpriced for what you are offering. There are many places/sites around the country that are offering fully equipped yurts for not much more than you are charging for the bare minimum. I also phoned on various occassions to book the swimming pool & only got the answering machine. Only to leave messages that were not returned. When I finally got through to someone on the bar, he took a message for me to leave at reception with an urgent request to call back, which they never did. Disappointing as I was having to chase to get info I needed. This site has so much potential, but perhaps a bit of tweaking would make it a fantastic site.

Very clean, good facilities and the yurt was very spacious and comfortable. Staff could have been a bit more smiley but they were efficient. It was very busy and noisy site as very full and everyone is close together. Difficult to get a booking in the pub but when did go there were lots of empty tables which seemed odd. Need to book swimming slots prior to going as they were also very busy. Enjoyed the ferry and walk to Oulton Broad. Went sup boarding on the river but had to be careful of all the boats going past

Hi. Unfortunately due to a positive COVID test within our party we had to leave after 2 days so can’t leave extensive review of site. But from what I saw seemed nice enough. I will however leave an honest review of the accommodation. When we booked the holiday, the website stated luxury accommodation snd were led to believe lodges refurbished for 2021. We paid £2144 for the chedgrave lodge. 20 yrs ago this lodge could probably be classed as luxurious, not now. Within the first few hours of been there I had to report a fallen curtain rail, loose shower screen, kettle riddled with lime scale and poor storage in the fridge. Too be fair all were dealt with immediately so I’ve got no complaints there. All in all the accommodation just wasn’t up to standard. Interior extremely tired and dated and outdoor area not much better. Over grown vegetation making lodge and Veranda area very dark. Outside table was damaged from what looked like someone had put a bbq on it and decking area could do with a good jet wash. I appreciate times are hard with cleaning schedule due to COVID, but I fear 18 months ago this lodge would be in same state. I will finish on a positive. We were kindly refunded money we’d paid for a boat we couldn’t use due to leaving early. I know you weren’t obliged to do that so thank you.

Pub very limited and not serving food at all on Wednesday. Could do with more kayaks and boats to hire. Ice cream kiosk closed. Website said to book swimming at reception but people were also booking over the phone so we missed out on day 1.

We stayed for 3 nights with a converted transit van camper. The pitch was wide, well kept and easy to maneuver into. The site is very relaxed with a variety of accommodation, the view of the marina was very nice. The site was definitely quiet by 10 and everyone was friendly. The showers being single units worked well and being able to do your full morning routine in there was a bonus with the inclusion of a toilet in the unit. The toilet block was clean and modern. The pot wash was good with a number of stations. We were on a rare trip without our children but the park and pool both looked great and we’re very popular. The showers are a bit dated and despite frequent cleaning by the staff, could do with a means for each guest to tidy up after themselves - mop etc. the drinking water taps are spray taps which made filling a single vessel such as a water bottle tricky We were unable to visit the waveney inn due to a lack of vegan/gluten free options but would have if we could. It could do with being more obvious that campers don’t check in at reception and do so in the pool. We saw the sign pointing campers to the left but as reception was to the right, assumed we needed to go there first and then found the car park down there tricky.

Nice pool and showers/loos, and the setting is beautiful right next to the river. Staff were helpful and friendly. I think the camping pitches are too close together which is the reason for 3 stars. We were in a yurt which needed a bit of maintenance but comfortable beds and enjoyed our stay. However, there is a row of camping pitches right in front of the yurt so there was not much privacy nor space. It felt a bit crowded in which is a shame as it’s got potential to be a great little site.

From the pictures shown on the website it is misleading as it looks as if you have a big marina to look around, when in fact the main part is sectioned off as private. The showers/toilet block very clean and spacious. Did not seem enough space for children to play, the only green area other than the park, is on a slight incline, and when we stayed there were load of wasps coming out of the ground, I assume a nest is underneath it. Also very close to other tents, and Yurts seemed close as they found it hard to park with the tents so close.

A lovely place to stay, would definitely stay again. Has so much potential for improvement for example swimming pool/games room. felt the shop was a let down!

Rooms comfortable and clean and good facilities. Unfortunately can hear noise from other rooms such as water being run, toilets being flushed and loud noise which happens randomly. Disappointed at no healthy breakfast options and you don’t advertise vegetarian options. Also disappointed at pub area which is not comfortable for sitting in of an evening. We ended up just sitting in our room. Staff really helpful and attentive. Pool area needs to open earlier to accommodate a swim before breakfast as to much of a rush to get ready before breakfast deadline. Hard to get through on the phone to staff/restaurant.

Lovely location. A little dissatisfied that the pool and on site restaurant we’re both fully booked before we even arrived. Also, yurt 7 that we stayed in needs some attention to the roof. I felt rather uncomfortable that the roof looked like it was ready to collapse at any time.

Not enough for teenager and would of helped if the holiday company Hoseasons, got the holiday accommodation right in the first place. A disapointing stay with NO hot tub which my son was so looking forward to. SHAME ON YOU HOSEASONS FOR GETTING IT SO WRONG!!!! The road in was a nightmare into the place, and the shop poorly stocked considering the nearest supermarket in a way to go to get supplies.

Facilities were generally good. Caravan pitch under trees were poor uneven rough ground. Lots of pine cones and resin dropping on the van. Too many tents and vans made limited space for recreation. Field allocated as play not cut very rough and unsafe for children and dogs. Expensive. Staff friendly and helpful. Good at pub good and reasonably priced..

Restaurant and bar prices. Far to expensive. Food not good. My second stay at the centre. All tv reception is extremely poor. You need a much taller mast. Staff were very nice polite. You really do need more cleaners. Then you wouldn’t waste nearly all your first day of holiday having to wait until five o’clock, in most cases to get your key. I think a big meeting of staff and owners is badly need. It’s a lovely place. Don’t spoil it for the sake of a meeting. Regards. Mrs Jennifer Russell.

Pitch was a nice size and well located. Check in was disorganised as signage directed us to Reception and we were then directed back to pool area. As there is a designated spot to park for campers checking in the signage in that area should have directed us to the Pool reception. Ferry is nice and we had a great day walking in the Nature Reserve. Also worth visiting St Mary's church just down the lane. Meal in the Waveney Inn was ok but overpriced for an overdone burger patty with miniscule tomato and lettuce. All the staff were lovely. Literature is confusing and contradictory - please do not arrive before 12. Check in from 1pm. One way roads that are not one way as pitches have been added at the end. All in all a satisfactory stay but some attention to detail would improve the rating.

Pitches for caravans (Heron) very small and cramped…no where to sit outside your unit. Good toilets and showers. The site itself is a long way from the main road (approx 6 miles - 2.5 miles of this is single track). Pray you don’t meet another caravan on the way in/out! No security at site entrance. The setting on the riverside is nice and the walk from the other side of the river to Oulton Broad (approx 3 miles) is lovely (ferry from site across the river to access walk). There are not really any other walks from the site unless you walk down the road. If you like canoeing, paddle boarding etc. this site is great….best to have your own though as they only hire canoes. All in all we enjoyed our stay but would only recommend a few nights here as too far off the beaten track.

Pitch not maintained, no lighting. Not big enough despite stating when booked the size of motorhome. Will not recommend to others or be returning.
