Good value for money however some pitches I.e Heron were poor. It is evident that during lockdown no money has been spent to improve the site whereas our visits to other sites has seen a remarkable effort to improve facilities.

Myself and 3 friends stayed 18th - 20th of June . The venu itself is spot on , location and set up great . Unfortunately like at lot of Hospitality places you have really struggled with reopening after lockdown . Place and facilities look tired . Little kiosk not open . Main shop looked sparse. Pool not open on the day of arrival. Total lack of communication between restaurant and reception staff . Short staff on the restaurant although the young chap in there really did cope very well . I would return again as I am local to the area and always try to support. The hospitality industry did receive all the grants and I hope in the future, you will reinvest and I look forward to returning soon .

Not what we were hoping for, I was expecting some long walks beside the river with the dog but there was no access at all ,the only walks available were in a nearby field with waist high grass. The lodge was fine and very clean and reasonably well equiped the outlook across the fields was very nice but the area around the hot tub was not pleasant and occasionally smelt of sewerage. I was disappointed to find that the shop did'nt sell newspapers as the site is miles from a supermarket. After a very wet night on Wednesday I tried to walk the dog but after a few yards the road was flooded and we could'nt proceed on foot . We were due to stay until Monday but we decided to leave on Thursday.

Room and cleanliness very good. Food good but took too long to place order, & for it to arrive at table. Breakfast particularly slow and only one member of staff trying to deal with everything .First breakfast and dinner many items unavailable on menu. A pleasant stay of 6 nights but length of time taken to serve meals very frustrating.

We stayed for a few days in an Escape Pod. We had a lovely time and enjoyed the setting and exploring the area. It was half term so obviously very busy. My main criticisms were that we were in pod 6 closest to the pool. It was the short straw as we had to endure the improvised games of football close to the pod as the children liked to the use the wall by the pool as a goal. This resulted in balls flying into the pod a few times and was generally not particularly relaxing. I would stick a 'No ball games' sign on that wall just to make them move abit further down. The other criticism was we did have abit of an ant problem in the pod which I think if we'd stayed abit longer would have been more an issue. The other thing was the pool was quite hard to book for with the restrictions. It might be an idea to allow one pre-bookable slot to ensure everyone had opportunity although I accept there isn't an easy answer during high demand periods. Also due to it being very busy on site there wasn't enough showers and some mornings it was hard to get into. We still had a nice time though and the staff were always helpful.

Mixed feelings and such a shame We come here a few years back and I have been wanting to come back ever since, as our first experience was wonderful. Unfortunately it’s a shame to say I won’t be coming back in a hurry the food has gone down hill massively with such a basic menu and the fact it wasn’t great the price was ridiculous. Our lodge was old and there was so many problems with it all the floors where coming up and both sets of doors where hard to lock our shower tray was broken and glued together both cold taps in the bathrooms where dripping the whole time, the floors where dirty which I can’t understand as we couldn’t get in to our lodge till 5 pm it should have been clinical for the amount of time they have to clean. The baby travel cot they gave us had a hole in it. The leather sofas had all started to rip the main bedroom was smelly for what we paid for our lodge I was really disappointed. I think this lodge needs a revamp or renewing the staff where all friendly couldn’t book a swimming slot so 5 disappointed children we also hired a boat on the Saturday this was well worth the money we had a lovely day but again it could have been cleaner. I think if they had more evening entertainment abs more for the children this place could be amazing

Site is situated in a lovely location on the river. We stayed in a touring caravan, pitch wasn’t maintained very well as wasn’t a lot of the park. Bushes need attention. Showers weren’t cleaned daily and we found they were quite dirty. The woman’s toilet block on the touring site only had one lockable toilet in use, the others were out of use or didn’t have a useable lock. Swimming was hard to book, staff at swimming pool reception weren’t overly helpful when trying to book

It is a good place to stay, mostly due to the lovely location and views, and choice of accommodation plus things to do. The reason we've given it 3 stars is because there could be more attention to detail across the site. For instance, the toilets and showers did not feel as clean as they could at all times (more cleaning might be necessary at peak times like we were staying in perhaps?) which was a little worrying given the covid-19 pandemic. The Pod we stayed in is in need of repair on its roof, and it's door latches were broken on arrival (although a very friendly chap v soon did a fix on them for our stay which was good). It was difficult buying ice creams from the swimming pool as the till scanner wasn't working and there was a price discrepancy with the main shop. We booked a family meal with outside visitors at the Waveney Inn on our final night which was a birthday celebration. The poor staff looked rushed off their feet and, probably as a result, the service was not great and it just seemed a bit haphazard. Our food took a seriously long time, (between 1 and 2 hours) meaning our young children were getting fairly desperate by the time it came out. Also, the ice lolly/ice cream which should have come with their meal, did not ever come! However, the staff were helpful with giving us some little plates and a knife to have with the cake we'd brought with us. A small but helpful improvement would be to know which reception you need to go to for what...we kept turning up at main reception to ask or book something, only to be told to go over to the swimming pool reception, and vice versa! In the heat with small children these little things make a difference - it was a little annoying walking back and forth sometimes. E.g. when we checked in, we went to main reception, but got told to go to swimming pool reception...but when we checked out, we assumed it would be the swimming pool reception, but this time they wanted us to go to main reception! Overall, it just feels like you should expect a little bit more across the site for the price you pay for the accommodation. Also, we couldn't work out why the swimming pool was open such restricted hours each day...the last swim on 2 days was 3.15pm...maybe a staffing issue? We definitely think more people would welcome being able to use the pool much later into the afternoon/early evening.

The site and location are fantastic although it’s a long drive from most places. We didn’t use the showers as had our own but the toilets were extremely dirty. The male toilets had a sink and a urinal blocked for 5 days in the men’s. Considering it’s just opened from Covid I saw a cleaner once in a week though I am sure they were done early morning . They need cleaning several times a day in the current climate and while the site is busy in holiday periods. We used the takeaway once as couldn’t ever get a table in the Waveney Inn. It was very overpriced. People from the tents and yurts also thought it was acceptable to allow their children to play football and frisbee outside my caravan despite signs saying no ball games then got shirty when the kids were asked to play on the games field!

Staff we nice and helpful. The lodge however was dated and in need of refurbishment. There was mould on the silicone in the bathroom, the outdoor furniture was rusty and unusable, the bedroom was also damp on arrival, we also had an issue with the hot water (this was looked at fixed within half hour of reporting). The positioning of the lodges is not the best, as most like ours were in the shade from 5pm.

Good facilities on site e.g. shop, restaurant, laundry, boat hire etc Standard of cleanliness in main toilets/shower block poor. In need of refurbishment. More frequent cleaning required. Notices displayed said cleaned throughout the day yet little evidence of this. Saw a member of stock up toilet roll in one toilet/shower at 7.00 a.m. but didn't clean despite being clearly dirty. No cleaners visible at peak times. Play area in use until late at night despite info saying open 8 a.m. - 8.00 p.m. this was not adhered to. Segregated area for play needed as too close to escape pods. Shop to be open earlier in morning so provisions such as milk can be purchased fresh for breakfast

The hotel was very pleasant however the restaurant let it down . No napkins for the 3days we were there . Limited breakfast menu no fruit or yogurt . Nice staff .

We were very disappointed because we were not allocated the lodges we booked! We booked 3 lodges in a row but one was separate from the other 2 . This was a family break and we wanted to be together and so booked lodges together. When we asked the reception if we could swap with the lodge in our row of three (which was still being cleaned and therefore empty) she told us it was an 8 berth so couldn’t. This lodge was exactly the same as ours but we accepted that what she told us was true. Our holiday was fun but not as much fun as we had hoped because of this. We were very upset as we had booked this holiday for last year to celebrate our daughters 40th birthday so we were really looking forward to all being together.

Pleasant site if somewhat untidy. Hotel room good, cleanliness and staff helpfulness excellent. Bteakfast and evening meals fair. Lodges quite old altho understand new phase in planning. Feel travel to site in poor weather could be problematic due to narrow single track roads. A pleasant stay overall.

All staff very polite and helpful as usual. There are currently works taking place to install a new platoon for visiting river craft. Other than that the site is looking rather tiered. Surprised the owners/operators haven't taken the opportunity of the Lockdown to refresh the facilities.
