“Beautiful lodge in lovely surroundings. Very relaxing break and nice to unwind in the hot tub. The only thing we believe could be improved is more glasses and bigger pans for cooking. The lodge was for 6 people. Our party was 6 adults and there was not a pan big enough to cook the meal and only 4 wine glasses.”

“Pleasant area, accommodation not ready when said, hot tub was OFF when we got there so had to wait hrs before use.. impeding on our time not enough some plates bowls missing not enough for the amount of people staying ... no instructions for tv or hot tub”

“Great location and layout. Enjoyed our stay at the site. Outside space at the Waveney Inn is very good whilst the inside lacks character. Enjoyed the fish & chips though!”

“Lodge was fantastic we had a lovely relaxing break and we enjoyed a lovely meal at the Waveney Inn. Shame the shop and pizza restaurant wasn’t available although understandable during covid19.”

“We arrived at car park and phoned no given in instructions to be told the office was now closed. I was quite upset by this information - what was I supposed to do - anyway I went to the restaurant and after waiting some time was told there had been problems and I was told the name of the lodge I had booked. The lodge was very nice - we ate at the restaurant one night and the meal was good. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed our stay after the problems found when we arrived.”

“The site was in a great location and the bar and restaurant was fantastic. The staff were lovely and the food was amazing, we ate in the restaurant one night and ordered takeaway 3 times! Every meal we had was lovely. My only complaint is that the lodge was not cleaned to the standard we expected, especially given the COVID situation. The floors were dirty, lots of cobwebs (and bugs) and there was even a used plaster in the shower, presumably belonged to the previous guest!”

“We had a wonderful night stay at the Waveney River Centre. The Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our bicycles. Rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable with superb bed for weary cyclists. Lovely position with view over the marshes, we would definitely visit again. Only disappointed was no real ale in The Waveney Inn next door.”

“Very clean and spacious hotel room with an exceptionally comfortable bed. The service was excellent from the friendly helpful staff. The food was ok but not enough variety - no fresh fish or salads and whilst the cooked breakfast was delicious a choice of fruit would have been good. The centre is clearly well run and I would recommend it to friends.”

“Great place to stay. Beautiful scenery with lots happening. Camped and stayed in hotel. Good site with good size swimming pool. Restaurant is very nice good food but with very limited vegan options. The staff are friendly and helpful. Only problem was booking system. Would recommend.”

“Fantasy location great facilities with the pub ,restaurant and boat hire and very helpful staff . However the kitchen lacked in utensils plates glasses and baking trays. For example there were 4 wine glasses 5 plates no baking trays no tongs 1 tea towels bearing in mind we were a party of 6 adults . We had to go to the nearest supermarket to buy these items which wasn’t ideal”

“The lodge we stayed in was way above expectations in terms of size and furnishings. The Waveney Inn was very good, altho' obviously under current covid circumstances it wasn't always possible to get a place to sit outside. Food was also excellent, tho one night there was clearly a staff shortage as we had to wait ages for it to arrive. Prices were on the high side and I would have been interested to see what the ham, egg and chips looked like for so much!! The steaks however were lovely. I was slightly disappointed not to be able to get online as you had to log in with another account such as facebook and I do not know my password by heart!! We would have liked a map to see local walking but took the ferry and walked to Oulton Broad one day and were disappointed the next day when it was out of action and felt we didnt know where else to go.”

“The lodge was lovely very modern and spacious, the hot tub was fabulous. Found the Waveney inn a bit dated and the menu was very very basic. Gin served in normal glasses - what’s happened to gin glasses?! Disappointed that check in times was 5pm and still had to wait for 20mins after that to get in the lodge. I had to call back to chase it up and with two dogs in the car on a hot evening after a long journey was frustrating. Would be good to have some map walks available of the local area. Overall was a pleasant stay and would come back again.”

“We had an enjoyable stay and the staff were really helpful the view from our tent was lovely. It would have been nice to have a bit longer to pack up thou 11.00 is a bit early luckily it was dry so we didn’t have to wait for anything to dry.”

“As always a great stay here. Couple of things though, we were on the top pitch in our motorhome, one in the reasons we come is for the view...all of the pitches to our left had caravans on and all of them parked their cars on the grass opposite...never seen that before so if that was discouraged would be better. Couple of really rowdy groups, one of which were still screaming at 2am this morning...you don't know who you book in so that's not your responsibility, but just marred it a bit this time.”
