Very friendly staff, excellent service in the restaurant every time we went, good food too, breakfast was top notch! private showers, well designed layout, clean, comfortable escape pod, scenic location, lovely heated swimming pool, the only downside was that the tents were extremely crammed together with not enough space for socialising or chairs outside which I was very surprised at. The cars were right up next to the tents in some cases. It was not a big area overall and it's busy a lot of the time. Bittern pitch was much quieter, no power hook up but less noise, and right next to fields, lovely!. The escape pods are very close to the children's play area, so doesn't really feel like an escape when kids are screaming outside first thing in the morning. Not a complaint, but feel this could be mentioned on the website so people are aware this is not a quiet escape pod away from the noise. It's quite misleading. However, great for those with kids as they can watch over them while they play. Ferry was good, again staff brilliant.

The Heron caravan pitches are just too small. Unless you were a tent pitched near the waters edge it felt like being pitched in a car park. Also having to pay to use the slipway for you own kayaks etc is not right. It should be included in the cost of the campsite.

Such a lovely place, all very clean and felt very covid-safe, with special measures taken to ensure guests safety. The lodge was spotless, the hot tub a lovely touch, the kids enjoyed the swimming pool and the food at the Inn was great!

Nice stay but I felt the toilets seemed a bit tired and need of an update.

The lodge was clean and comfortable - hot tub was cleaned every day. Due to Covid 19 the swimming pool had to be booked the day before and you only have 30 minute sessions, which was a shame. The food at the Waveney Inn wasn't great - microwaved meals - my veg lasagne was really overcooked. Staff all helpful though and friendly. The kettle in the lodge was an old fashioned stove top one and quite dangerous - should replaced with an electric one - everyone who used it was scolded (mildly but still..)

Truly responsive and excellent staff team who went above and beyond to sort an issue with an otherwise very good apartment. All friendly, welcoming and helpful and a credit to the lovely country/riverside site.

We have just returned from a weeks stay here and unfortunately we were disappointed with cleanliness of the lodges this year. On our arrival we found that our lodge hadn't been swept and I had to go around and sweep the living and kitchen Area before I could unpack. The whole feel if our lodge just didn't feel clean Plus my mum had to mop the floor and there sofa looked and felt dirty

Highly recommend this camp site. Wonderful spot, well kept Public areas. Doing a great job in the current circumstances. Only downside was people in the Yurts next to us, staying up drinking, talking, not controlling their children till finally the father in the tent opposite came out at 00.15 to tell them the time and basically to “shut up”. The play area should have a sign asking campers not use it after 22.00, a child was hit by the swings around 22.30 one night due to darkness. But I have to say it’s a fantastic place to holiday.

A lovely, friendly place that has everything you need for a great family holiday. Lovely on site pub. All the staff are so friendly. The facilities..shower, toilets, washing are all clean and loads of space. We managed to swim every day in the on site pool. My only wish would be that they communicated that there was no day hire of boats available as that lead to disappointments. We were expecting to be able to book one there. Even if the ferry could go up and down the road rather than just across to the other side. Also the secret garden needs some love and attention. Would highly recommend this place.

Accommodation desperately needs an update: Mattresses poor Dining table needs deep clean Patio furniture needs cleaning Curtains and blinds need replacing. All of this at a Premium price. Bit of a disappointment

Hi, we do love this place. This time we had a dog and it’s great to see how dog friendly you are. When we arrived the lady directed us to our pitch, but no welcome leaflet/pack was provided, so we didn’t know the code for the shower. I was also looking for a dog walking area and the same lady was in reception and I asked the best place to walk a dog and she said you can go to the church or around the roads. It was on our last day we found the other field which would of been ideal. Also we were never told about the ferry that dogs are allowed on. The food in the pub is good but the service is a bit hit and miss, but they are working hard in the heat. We will be coming back in the future. Thanks Paul

We were careful to ask about our pitch when booking. We were told the all bittern pitches had an elevated view over the marina. We were told we could not book a pitch with a camper on kingfisher or adjacent to the marina. We had no view and observed campers on kingfisher pitches and van adjacent to the marina. We felt let down and lied to. The condition of our pitch was appalling. 1/3 of it was dusty mud. It looks like years of poor maintenance rather than one dry season. It made it very difficult as we were not able to put anything on the ground. It's our opinion that the full row of bittern pitches should be removed to give more room to the yurts and avoid over crowding. The cleaning staff were friendly and good. The shop was poorly stocked. Pizza takeaway to the pitches is a good addition, although the pizzas were very small for the price. The pool was well organised although lots a bits floating in it. Overall a disappointing experience and it's very rare for us to have that conclusion having camped for 20 years all over the uk and europe.

Disappointed with my stay this time. Have stayed here a few times before and have always been pleased with the service. I wasn’t disappointed with my stay because of the COVID-19 measures which were actually very good and made me feel very safe. My disappointment is with the pricing. I do a lot of cycle touring and most campsites let me camp with my fellow cycle tourer on one pitch as we only have very small tents each. On this campsite I was told I had to pay for two pitches (pitches for two people). This cost us more than twice what we would normally expect to pay and more than the price of the yurts and pods on their site, which can hold 3-4 people. It’s a lovely campsite in general but they need to sort their pricing strategy out.

This is a beautiful and well maintained site. Facilities are clean and sufficient. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Some beautiful and tranquil areas to fish and watch the boats on the river. The Waveney inn has good food and a good selection. The only draw back at present is the site shop is closed leaving only a small essential items available from the small kiosk.

I recently stayed here, check in was delayed due to extra cleaning, I can honestly say I don’t believe it had been deep cleaned the floors were dirty with dead insects everywhere. There was a massive problem with a strong smell of raw Sewerage was hard to relax with constant wafts of that.
