Lovely room and friendly staff. We enjoyed the pool and play area with our granddaughter and felt very safe.

A lovely, friendly place that has everything you need for a great family holiday. Lovely on site pub. All the staff are so friendly. The facilities..shower, toilets, washing are all clean and loads of space. We managed to swim every day in the on site pool. My only wish would be that they communicated that there was no day hire of boats available as that lead to disappointments. We were expecting to be able to book one there. Even if the ferry could go up and down the road rather than just across to the other side. Also the secret garden needs some love and attention. Would highly recommend this place.

Although we only stayed on site for 4 days, we enjoyed the experience. The site management were always ready to assist guests. The signage relating to Covid-19 was clear and precise. The staff in the restaurant were very helpful. The cleaning lady was so cheerful. If there was any criticism it was against other guests who seemed incapable of obeying the rules which were put in place for their own protection. We would come back again, it it would be outside of school holiday season.

We have just arrived home today after spending a week at the Waveney River Center. The site was very clean and adhered to the ‘covid’ Guidelines. We made great use of the swimming pool, booking our daily thirty minute swim slots. The lady on the pool reception when we arrived and left stood out to me as she was very helpful, friendly and polite. I would be grateful if you could say a big thank you from the Sturrs family (kingfisher 2). During our holiday, my daughter had lost her comforter (very special to her since she was under one) and Waveney kindly shared my social media post to help us find him! Luckily someone had put him on a sign for us to find the next day which was a relief. Thank you for this. Any issues or queries we had during our stay was dealt with appropriately and quickly. Before we even arrived, a lady called Sue at the main reception answered my many questions over the phone, making me feel like nothing was too much trouble. We also ate at the Waveney Inn a few times for breakfast and tea. The food was lovely! The only thing I would say I would have liked, is if the staff team would have informed us about the boat trips that they run (to the nature reserve) as we overheard a member of staff telling someone else but this was the day before we were due to leave so was a little late. Also the push tap made it difficult to fill our ‘on board’ water tank as our hose wouldn’t fit to the tap but we went out and bought a watering can so overcome this problem pretty quickly - but a ‘heads up’ for anyone else in the same position as ourselves. Thank you for a lovely holiday. My two daughters and ourselves had a great time!

We had a great time. The location is beautiful and perfect for day trips. The swimming pool was well ran and limited to a small number of people. However, I would like to make a few negative comments to help you improve: Given the current situation I expected the lodge (Gillingham) to be spotless. It wasn't, and we had to do some of our own cleaning before we felt comfortable . We hired a day boat, again we expected it to be spotless but it looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all. There appeared to be no sense of social distancing from the boat hire staff, though they were very friendly and helpful. The kiosk was not open on the day we left, apparently due to staff shortages. Not having the shop available before we left on a long drive home was rather frustrating. We've been to Waveney River Centre twice before. This time we noticed a lot of new lodges and planning for more. However, there appears to have been no expansion of any other services (shop, pub, toilets, car park etc). It feels like its getting too big to cope and will potentially put me off coming back. You can't expect to just add visitors and not provide extra capacity in your services to cope with them

Such a relaxing break away. Accomodation was clean and had everything we needed. We ate at the onsite pub and the meal was delicious. Boat hire from the site was convenient and value for money.

Really enjoyed it. Kids loved the park and swimming. Hired boat for the day which was great. Yurt was in good location. Would be good to have a field area where we could play ball games. Waveney Inn staff were very nice and accommodating. Showers and toilets were regularly cleaned.

Very pleasant site with good facilities Covid accepted. Our lodge Beccles was showing signs of wear and tare but was clean and comfortable and made for a relaxing weekend. We enjoyed having the day boat as well.

Stayed in Hotel wouldn't say it's a Luxury Hotel but was nice. Very noisy in am as a tractor backwards and forwards ti empty bins! Also woken by a delivery driver knocking on dors shouting ARGOS!! As left room saw a bed frame left at top of stairs!! Shower in room was very slow to run away and had to turn off as we showered or it would have flooded!!!

We stayed in the Chart room. Nice room, plenty of milk with the tea and coffee which made a welcome change from other hotels. Only downside with the room was the very obvious water ring on the bedside table. Staff were lovely, very helpful. Sadly the bar shut at 10 every night we were there which was a shame, spoilt the stay a little. Other than that a lovely few days.

Overall we enjoyed our stay over three nights in our motorhome. We enjoyed taking our canoe out on the river. We'd use the site again, mainly for easy access to the river.

The Waveney River Centre is in a fantastic riverside location with undisturbed views over the river and countryside, it’s the perfect place for a relaxing weekend. Check in was over the phone before we arrived, which was great, thus avoiding the need to venture in to reception which always looked fairly busy. We did try to contact reception a couple of times during our stay but couldn’t get through, whilst there is an emergency number, nothing was that urgent to ring them out of hours. With the exception of the far end of the centre which is a fenced off building site (and looks out of keeping with the rest of the centre) everywhere was well presented, clean and tidy. The camping area looked a bit cramped but lodges were well spaced out with easy access and parking alongside the accommodation. River activities were easily booked on line and staff, whilst social distancing, were on hand and helpful at the waters edge when departing and returning. We found the centre to be quiet with guests adhering to social distancing and above all being respectful of others who were holidaying at the centre. This came very close to being a 5 Star review only let down by a few niggles such as poorly maintained appliances and little bits of dilapidation within the lodge. Whilst none of this detract too much from our lovely stay, when paying top dollar one could reasonably expected these items to have been made good by housekeeping during their post/pre let inspection. The acid test is would we stay again, undoubtedly yes.

Just got back from 3 nights of camping at Waveney River Centre. We arrived on Thursday afternoon and quickly checked in and went to set up on our pitch. The pitch was perfect for us, we had enough space. A couple of things that could have been better were that our pitch was quite rocky which meant putting pegs in the ground wasn't the easiest in some places. We also were a bit annoyed that the electric hookups were in 2's which mean ours was stuck behind our car, making it an issue when we needed to use it as our lead (which was pretty long) did not reach round to anywhere near our tent or seating area. The facilities were ideal, the toilets and showers were very clean and a big surprise. Much better than expected. We did not use the pool but the option was nice. The scenery is beautiful, right on the marina and river. Perfect for fishing and relaxing. Everyone was very friendly, it was the right amount of noisy at most points, nice to hear chatting and music and kids playing, but everyone was also respectful and it was quiet whenever we went to bed. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend this to our friends and would think about coming back.
