Once again we had a fabulous stay camping at the Wavney River Centre, the 8th year In a row. The camp site was clean and tidy and so was the toilet/shower block. COVID was not an issue as everything had been thought off. The only disappointment was the Waveny Inn, we had a table booked for 7.30 pm on Friday night and didn’t receive our meal until 9.10pm, and the cost of the food was more expensive than most London restaurants. Saying that, we still intend to come back next year. Many thanks,Steve Theobald.

Fabulous return visit. Will be back. The site is very well run. All you need on site. Staff great and very helpful. Lodge and hot tub spotless. Pub busy but if you're patient the food is worth the wait. Great views from veranda of pub and lodge. Thank you again

We had a great time and enjoyed our break with you, but have a couple of grumbles - We understand the Covid precautions but the amount of crockery and cutlery available was the bare minimum (no egg cups, just 2 cups, 2 spoons etc) was a nuisance, which also prevented major cooking and meant repetitive washing up, we never used the dishwasher. Also in the Earsham lodge area there is a persistent smell of sewage, which spoilt our sitting outside, I would like to know what the open brick vent is adjacent to the lodge? Am I the only person to mention this? I would not put a bad review on line, so thanks for this opportunity to review, I look forward to your response. Regards Dawn.

Quiet, clean site. Appreciated the signs and social distancing measures in place. We used the boat from the centre and made our way to Carlton Marshes on bikes which I would NOT recommend!! It was very uneven and not suitable for bikes. We spoke to our neighbours on the site who also tackled the route with a child carrier on the back of one of the bikes. They ended up walking with the bikes due to the uneven path. It may be advisable to put up a notice to advise other people of this. Although Covid restrictions prevented leaflets being given out, maybe consider laminating some leaflets and bike routes (which could be wiped clean) We would have been happy to purchase these.

Our stay at Waveney River Centre was really good. However when you are paying the same as a 5 star hotel in London, for the stay (in excess of £330 per night), you therefore expect things to be perfect and unfortunately a few minor niggles took the shine off the stay. A few examples: The vegetation around the property needed attention, as a result there were brambles and stinging nettles encroaching onto the terrace area making parts of it difficult to use. In addition due to the height of the vegetation along the property it blocked the view from the hot tub to a small 2 foot section instead of having a full panoramic view, which was really disappointing as this was one of the key features we were looking forward to for our stay. There was a lack of anywhere to hang a towel in the en-suite bathroom, a simple hook on the back of the door would suffice. Some of the blinds in the property were filthy, and hadn’t been cleaned for a considerable time meaning you got covered in dust when operating them. Finally, we fully understood the reason for the reduced inventory in the kitchen but limiting the plates to only four made catering for a family very difficult. An additional 4 side plates would have assisted enormously. A lack of any Printed instructions about the property is understandable in the current situation but access to an online / digital pack would assist guests. I hope these points can be considered to improve the enjoyment for future guests

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. Especially liked our pitch next to the water. Staff were ensuring that all amenities were regularly cleaned and site generally was well maintained. Would like to stay again, hopefully when the pool is open. We really enjoyed our day trip out on the water. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Lovely location good facilities for campers. Showers and toilets cleaned very regularly. Only drawback was access along a single track road - we damaged our camper van when we were forced up on an uneven verge in order to let another vehicle pass.

Just returned from a short break at Waveney. Good points: Lots of hand sanitiser stations and signage to remind people to social distance. Needs improvement:The toilet block/showers need cleaning more frequently. The 10pm no noise policy was not strictly enforced, a gang of men kept playing music until 3pm in the morning which was really annoying for everyone else. Normally it’s a lovely place for families but feel it’s turning into a place for gangs of people to meet up.

Has a lovely long weekend at Waveney River Centre, we booked before COVID to meet with friends, and booked one of the large 8 bed lodges. The accommodation was nice and roomy and plenty of space not to be on top of each other. The lodge was a little tired & could do with the edges & ledges being cleaned but the bedding & towels were all fresh & clean. Due to Covid they has removed non-essentials so the kitchen has 8 only of plates, mugs, glasses. All wine & other glasses were mismatched and there were no flutes which was a shame, The hot tub was nice and big but not sure how well it was cleaned because there was an oily film on it but teenagers loved it. And it wasn't checked at all whilst we were there, maybe because it was a weekend but past experience the hot tub is normally checked daily. Used the take away at the pub and it was fine, apart from forgetting two meals and having to go and ask but they sorted it quickly. No sauce or seasoning thou and we had forgotten to take with us. The shop was reallocated to the kiosk but we didn't use it, only being there for weekend we didn't need to. Reception were lovely , we spoke to them on the telephone to book in and that was all fine & they were very helpful before we arrived. We brought our own SUP and Kayak and were able to launch from site which was great, quite a lot of boat traffic being a marina so pick your times, ferry over the river was useful and we had a nice walk on the other side. Overall it was a welcome break from the groundhog day of COVID restrictions, lovely part of the country that we haven't visited before but would come again.

Loved our stay there just a couple of points we have a motor home and the bushes round the plot needed trimming back emptying the toilet and changing the gas was a bit of a problem with the bushes especially when you have an awning out. Second point a shop is really needed especially by motorhomes it really needs to have basic provisions on site bread milk eggs toilet rolls meat etc it’s a long way to nearest shop without a car to pop there.

I have been very impressed with WRC, right from booking and pandemic plans to keep everyone safe. The hygiene of toilet and shower block was above and beyond. The evening meal at the pub and service was fabulous. There was a wasps next by our tents and it was dealt with so quickly and efficiently. The crew were approachable and friendly. The only reason it's not 5 stars is breakfast was a let down when leaving. But we'll be back.

Beautiful views around. Lodge was spacious yet was not as clean as we would have expected under current circumstances. Hot tub was a nice edition. Takeaway from the pub to the lodge was brilliant and piping hot on arrival. Staff were welcoming and observed all guidelines in the inn to ensure we had a relaxed breakfast.

Very relaxing and quiet location. Lovely clean lodge with spacious living area and fabulous kitchen. Liam , the General Manager, was very kind and helpful sorting out a TV for my teenage son, so he could play on his Xbox that he had brought with him. All the staff were friendly and only had one problem with a beeping smoke alarm which was promptly seen to. This was our second stay and we will definitely be back.

All the staff were fantastic and very friendly and helpful. The site was great and the Yurt was brilliant. Unfortunately the food was terrible in the restaurant and was really a let down to an otherwise great place.

Had a fantastic stay in the yurt with my partner and two young boys. the whole experience was lovely and we all thoroughly enjoyed the stay. only downside to it was Music being blasted out at 1am by a boat coming by that woke the boys ☹️ but other than that was a brilliant stay. look forward to coming back in the near future 👍🏽
