“Charged customs fee of 17eur before delivery to Belgium. Makes a mockery of the free postage. According to bpost the charge is due to incorrect customs labelling by wordery. Please resolve.”

“Sûre , the shipping is free to Europe.What they don’t tell you is the tax fees, about 15€ per parcel ( my order was divided into 3parcels) so I sent 2 back and paid 10 € taxes for a paperback ! I wrote many mails, no proper answer, I’m still waiting for a refund. So if you live in Europe, avoid Wordery!!!!”

“I was happy to be able to order from Wordery from France. Unfortunately for the two books I had delivered I was asked by local customs to pay additional taxes, which upped the price of the book by 10 euros.”

“The customs fees were exorbitant so I decided not to pay them and to wait for the order to come back to Wordery. I wrote to customer service asking if they would reimburse my purchase once the books got back to them. They said that I should instead accept the order (and pay the customs fees) THEN send the books back. So in order not to pay the fees, their solution was just "pay the fees"?? Basically I paid for three books, never received them, and never got my money back. Appalling.”

“I was very angry because I have ordered 4 books, you sent these books in 3 different boxes. And I had to pay customs fees three times. It was very expensive ! So I don't want to order anything else vfrom you anymore. In addition, one of the packages was damaged and a book damaged, because the cardboard was much too thin.”

“Wordery was recommended to me but has transpired to be a total disappointment. I ordered books for dispatch to France and French VAT at 5.5% was duly added to the order. When the books arrived they had not been VAT cleared and I had to pay 70% of the cost of the books to the French post office in VAT and handling charges. I complained to Wordery who have been trying to wriggle out of their responsibility for over a month. Wordery is part of the American conglomerate that owns Waterstones, Barnes & Noble etc. and they just don't care. Fortunately, they have competitors who do things right.”

“Not only did it take much longer than promised to get to us, but it came with 10 euros tax -- which never happens with other providers. Wordery seems better at marketing than providing its core service: selling books.”
