Worst online buying experience Ive had. Customer service is shocking... they are clearly not trained. I was given information during a 'chat' which was then taken back later. I was sighed at on the phone. I was given a collection date for a mattress three weeks in the past and then told after chasing that there were no other for 4 days and only in the evening - we have a baby so not good. Will never use Argos again.

I bought a dishwasher and installation from Argos earlier this year for £299. When it arrived the dishwasher was dented on the side. I agreed to keep it, as this wouldn't be seen. Two months later it stopped working. I contacted Argos and they booked in an appointment with their preferred repair company. The engineer on his first visit was rude and advised he needed a new part. A new appointment was booked for the following week. On the night before (and the morning of) the visit we received two texts confirming his visit. He didn't arrive. On contacting the company wondering when he would come, they advised he didn't have the part and so wasn't actually coming. They hadn't bothered to tell us this and so wasted our time instead. An appointment was then booked for the following week again. I raised a complaint but never heard back from their manager despite repeated chases - they clearly didn't give a damn. I followed up a day before the third visit was due. I was advised that they wouldn't be coming as the part still wasn't in stock (a third wasted annual leave day.). If I hadn't called then we would have been waiting in for them again to be stood up, where they hadn't bothered to notify us. They confirmed they would advise Argos of these problems and recommend that Argos replace the faulty machine. I called Argos - the initial call handler was unhelpful. She said they don't have any replacements in stock and would not be issuing a good will gesture for the three full days of annual leave this issue has wasted. She transferred me to someone in their complaints team. He offered a £30 credit towards a replacement dishwasher. I accepted and asked which replacement they would then send. On calling me back he advised that the nearest one would require me paying an additional c.£70 on top of the credit(!) Clearly this is outrageous. They should not be making more money out of customers because their products being faulty. I declined this and asked for a refund, (which would require a 5th day of annual leave), together with compensation for the 5 wasted days. He advised that he would provide a £30 credit note towards a next purchase. I advised this was, frankly insulting given that five days will have been wasted, together with around 7 hours on the phone to Argos and their repair company combined (and counting). He advised I could make an application to their Head Office for "loss of earnings", but that they would require a letter from my accountant disclosing my annual salary, dividends and other income - so they can decide if they will reimburse me for the days they wasted. Who the hell do Argos think they are, demanding detailed personal financial information such as this? They are a shop who have failed to provide a working produce that I have paid for - they are not HMRC! On top of that, a letter from my accountant will cost me at least £150+VAT, as accountants don't work for free. The call handler advised that Argos wouldn't reimburse me for any fees I would have pay in order to get the letter they were requesting. So in summary: 1) Argos has wasted 5 days of time by supplying a faulty product and instructing a repair company who were not fit for the intended purpose. 2) They have wasted an additional 7 hours (and counting) of my time in admin trying to sort this out. 3) And they now have the audacity to demand that I pay extra money for an accountants letter, and disclose to them my intimate financial details - all without any guarantee they will reimburse me for any of it. This is adding insult upon insult to injury. I should not have to do this, and pay money, effectively, in order to complain about already poor service. I have been told that a 'Resolutions Leader' will contact me, but that she will only repeat the above. The situation is therefore still ongoing. Argos, do you consider the above to be either acceptable, or reasonable service to your customers? I look forward to someone contacting me and resolving this reasonably and sensibly.

Decided to make a start on xmas shopping as its Oct. tomorrow. Popped 2 seperate LEGO Harry Potter sets in my basket and continued to shop (online). Ive just logged back into my acct. to pay for the order and the price has increased on both items (by a considerable amount too). Literally done trying to help the high street shops now im afraid, Ill go back online and log into AMAZON instead. Argos will 100% be one of the old names of the high st. that goes under in the next year/s. Pure GREED.

Stay away from argos. I believe all this reviews are fake or paid because the argos that I know is nothing but worthless and fraudulent. This thieves have been withholding my 300pounds for the past two month while they have sent me an email confirming that they have refunded me, yet two months of chasing its one story after the another, today "oh my manager said I shouldn't refund you" tomorrow, oh we have refunded you, next day"oh PayPal is the problem, whereas argos is a thief who has absolutely no respect for the law. These thieves collects your money and once the item is faulty they refuse to refund you. If there is something worse than 1star I will give it to them. Argos is a THIEF

ABYSMAL CUSTOMER SERVICE! My daughter ordered a desk from Argos. When it was delivered, only one of three parts arrived. As the other two parts could not be found, the part was uplifted and she was refunded. We ordered another one on her behalf online on Thursday 17th September and we’re due to collect it on Wednesday 23rd September from Dunfermline. Dunfermline called on Saturday 19th September to say that the desk we had on order was not complete but a new one could be sourced for pick up today Friday 25th September from 9am. I received no text to say the desk was ready for collection today so I called. My order had been cancelled but I had received no notification of this. The gentleman said that this was probably because there was no contact details attached to the order!!!!!! How had Dunfermline managed to call me then?? The first order which they cancelled was also made through my Argos account! The desk meantime is only in stock somewhere over 400 miles from our location (I believe that to be Canterbury) and from the information gleaned from the gentleman I spoke to, the desk is not due back in stock until 15th January. We’re there/are there actually any COMPLETE desks available? Well there might have been at some point as my other daughter has one in Gloucester. Could that be the only one in the whole of the UK?!?

Terrible customer service at Argos Cory's Mill, Stevenage. No staff wearing face masks, very off hand poor customer service, were playing on their mobile phones as I walked up, seemed too much trouble to serve a customer. Off hand verging on rude, felt like I was disturbing her Facebook time. Blonde woman not wearing a name badge should not be working in retail or customer service.

I ordered a paper shredder which arrived clearly used and broke after the 1st use. I wrote a detailed review on the Argos website, including a photo as evidence and they refused to publish my review as it 'did not meet their guidelines'. As per their guidelines, I didn't mention the price, any competitors or personal information, they are clearly suppressing negative reviews. This is appalling customer service.

Ordered a new cooker came with defective fitting screws so we could not use it. Contacted them within the hour of receiving the oven and after a week of phone calls trying to sort a simple task of getting two screws, I received an e mail saying it’s not an Argos issue I have to contact the warranty company! So it’s now 9 days and counting with a new oven we cannot use . All I’ve done is purchase a new oven paid for it , it came with defective fitting screws and now I’m beyond angry! ARGOS YOU ARE USELESS

very poor customer service very poor customer service and delivery. i ordered from them because they gave me a delivery date that suited me, only to have it changed twice and having the delivery delayed by over a week. This is the 2nd time they have done this, the first was almost 3 weeks late! Not even a single apology, just text messages! i will not use again!

I had the most horrible experience with Argos. Collected Habitat shelving unit twice in one week and each time the item was received damaged. Argos refused to cover the cost of returning the damaged shelving units, leaving me out of pocket as it was a large piece of furniture and store not local. Horrendous customer service experience with a person called Michael, they are destroying Habitat brand this way also by re-selling returned damaged items! Will stay away from Argos! Do not recommend!

Argos are very expensive. Most of their electrical goods such as laptops etc are old stock from manufacturers who have brought out new models. Bought for peanuts and sold at exorbitant prices. What is good with them is their good delivery times to suit most.

I purchased a pair of headphones from Argos Ealing Broadway. I took it home and opened the box and found that there was damage done to the ear piece, and also the volume was quite and fuzzy sounds. I returned everything in the box as normal and went back to the store to return it for a refund. I tried to get a refund but the lady behind the counter told me I already opened the box so I can’t return it. How can I test it out without opening the box? I explained this and showed her the damage. She said no, no refunds because you opened it already. I told her it’s faulty and showed her the back of my receipt where it says faulty items can be returned and refunded. She then said call the number on the back of the receipt. She called me a liar and then I asked for the manager. The manager said you opened the box so you can’t return it. They called me a liar in front of all the other customers and I felt humiliated and embarrassed the way they portrayed me and spoke to me. I will take it higher because it’s consumer rights to be refunded when a product is damaged and not fit for purpose. I hope to get a refund soon but I will never go back to Argos after this experience, I felt shocked as I assumed if you buy something that’s faulty surely you have the right to be refunded minimally. I don’t know if it’s Argos in general or just Ealing Broadway store but i would never recommend that store the way they talk to customers and I feel like as if I was scammed because I’m stuck now with a pair of £40 headphones that I can’t even use now. I have uploaded pictures to support my case, decide for yourself.

Is it an isolated incident, I THINK NOT as 2 x orders for the “same item/set” & 2 x SHOCKERS! Shocker 1: After months of waiting it’s blatantly obvious that the set delivered wasn’t NEW & clearly second hand/used & as such either a customer return or an internal Argos reject therefore in NO WAY what I ordered & paid for in good faith & to have even been charged a delivery fee to have someone else’s rejects sent to me instead of new/unused items I ordered & paid for is pretty annoying to say the least. Subsequently returned, an arduous task in itself explaining that a an instore refund WITH NO INFORMATION TO PRESENT INSTORE made it a PRETTY POINTLESS therefore unachievable refund as I doubt the staff in ANY store of ANY brand would give anything to any customer walking in with no details & saying “I’ve got a refund but I can’t show you anything to prove it”, even a novice employee is going to politely decline honouring that, that’s if they could keep themselves from laughing. Shocker 2: Despite ordering the SAME 5 x piece set ONLY 1 x PIECE of the set was at the store collection point so it was obviously refused & the store staff said they would raise a return which would take up to 5 to 7 days to process to get my refund. If it were a small item/parcel containing concealed quantities which would obviously be beyond their control BUT when the 5 x pieces are FULL SIZE ADULT “separate items” there’s absolutely no excuse & is there anyone who can confuse 5 x full size gardening tools with 1?. Even more so when it should have been a rake, fork, shovel, spade, hoe & edger FULL SIZE & they sent to store 1 x lonely hoe. So, to date I’ve ordered identical item/set TWICE, paid for the privilege of delivery once, re-ordered & inconvenienced someone out to go collect it & been refunded ONCE & told I have to wait up to 7 days to get my money back & they’ve even followed it up with a “thank you for collecting you items, enclosing a picture of the FULL 5 X PIECE SET” . Judging by this since Argos has become part of Sainsburys they’ve dramatically gone downhill & in turn are not only destroying the Argos name/brand but potentially harming the Sainsburys Brand also. I’d rather order on Ebay from China & everyone knows that can be a gamble at times.

Appalled at the level of customer service at Argos Oban store. I purchased a new vacuum yesterday which is obviously faulty. Took it back today however the staff and management were very dismissive and refused to refund or replace. I would not recommend Argos and will not be returning

Poor customer services - or shall I say, NO Customer Services. Rude, defensive staff in Tottenham branches London N17 areas. Manager was just the same. Rude, condescending- refusing to allow customer to return item that was not used. We will never shop in Argos again. No longer service we used to know- staff haven't got a clue how to communicate customers in humanly method.

Ordered the p30 lite online on the 7th september 2020 which had been reduced and was a good offer . After placing the order i was sent a email stating it would be arriving in the next 5 days and would get a email when dispatched . Two days passed and then was sent email saying order was cancelled and offering no reason why . I can only assume that argos changed their mind in offering these phones at the reduced price , Why put on website then have no intention of fulfilling the orders . Not only that they decided to take payment out for a phone they know is not coming on the same day they sent email. So now i have no money to buy a replacement and left with out a phone . This has left me very angry and not the customer service i would expect from a well known company like this
