DO NOT ORDER FROM BALSAM HILLS !!! It is a waste of money. My tree looked great the first Christmas, but the second Christmas, half the lights were out. I called customer service and they said there was nothing they could do. They suggested that I buy new lights and restring them on the tree myself. I put the tree out for the trash and bought a gorgeous, much less expensive, tree at "At Home".

BUYER BEWARE! NO REPLACEMENT PARTS! I purchased a 12' Alpine Balsam Fir® Tree Pre-lit Christmas Tree from Balsam Hill in November 2019 and was overall very happy with it. However, when I set it up in December 2022, I discovered that 5 branches of lights were not working. Even though the tree wasn’t under warranty I thought I could get replacement parts as it says in the instructions and care guide. (They actually say to check the fuses and bulbs and replace if necessary — but not this tree model!) I called customer service to inquire about replacement parts, but was disappointed to learn that they do not support repairs or replacements for the "fairy lights" on the tree. The bulbs cannot be replaced individually, there are no fuses, and a replacement string cannot be purchased. (It doesn’t mention this on their website and again, the instructions indicate you can change the fuses and bulbs. The only solution Customer Service offered was to send me a separate string of regular lights that I would have to plug in to a separate outlet. Even more frustrating, Balsam Hills still makes this tree so I know the parts exist. This is unacceptable. I spent over a thousand dollars on this tree, so I was more than disappointed with this lack of support from Balsam Hill. The company claims to be "dedicated to providing outstanding customer service," but I feel that basic customer service would include actually supporting the products they sell. Unless this policy changes, I will not be purchasing another Balsam Hill tree in the future. In late October, I bought the Balsam Hill Winterberry Forest Wreath for $229.25. In December, I proudly put it on my front door for display during the holiday season. I recently took it down and noticed all the evergreen branches had "frizzled" on their ends-basically melted. We live in Minnesota, so much of the season is below zero. When I called and talked to Blanca, Customer Service, she told me it was beyond the 30 day warranty, and there was nothing she could do. When I explained that BH should stand behind their products, even if the manufacturer does not, Blanca just reiterated her 30 day warranty several more times. When I bought the wreath in October, the warranty was already void before I ever hung it on the door. I should have gone to Hobby Lobby or Target and bought a $49.99 wreath and replaced it for the next 5 years - I would be further ahead! BUYER BEWARE - BALSAM HILL DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS!!

***CANADIAN SHIPMENT WARNING***: In early 2023 I place an order for a 10 foot Balsam Fir Narrow tree with shipment to Canada after careful review of international shipping instructions and guidelines on the Balsam Hill (BH) website. An additional fee was paid to facilitate the international shipment. Shortly after purchase I received a telephone call from the BH sales office indicating the tree was in stock but could not be shipped from the BH warehouse to Canada and that my purchase would be refunded to my credit card. The order was cancelled, and I later received a refund. I lost $85 in the currency transfer. I’m disappointed in the false information provided on the BH website related to international shipments to Canada.

This company only has a 30 day warranty on everything they sell other than trees. My $129 Christmas tree star topper only lasted about 3 weeks and stopped working prior to Christmas, but they were not helpful b/c it was over 30 days since purchase. Changed out the fuses. No star to light up on Christmas. Then when I took down the tree in January and still unable to get it to work, I contacted Balsam Hill, who was absolutely no help whatsoever because apparently they only expect their items to work for 30 days. Would never recommend or buy from this company again.

I ordered two lit garland and two outdoor light trees on sale in June/July for the following holiday season. I opened them in November and put them up. The 9' tree lasted 2 weeks, one garland 2 weeks, the 6' tree and the second garland quit just under 4 weeks. I contacted customer service and was told that the warranty was only 30 days from purchase. The poor quality of the products makes a 30 warranty worthless. Even on sale the products were expensive and you would expect them to last at least through one season and should last through several. I was very disappointed with these purchases and to customer service. I threw my money away on these products.

Talked to customer service today because tree does not light. Best guess he came up with is that it's the adapter. Tree still under warranty but they could not find my name in their data base. I no longer have the receipt He would no longer help me and I was told I can't buy an adapter from their company. Basically told me to throw tree away. Spent a lot on this tree and now it's garbage. Don't buy Balsam Hill!

I purchased a 6.5 ft tree in July 2918,during Christmas in July...now it's only used from Thanksgiving till maybe 2nd week in January...this season 2022 I put up my tree,2 sections of lights were out..all black..ok I can live with that..decorated it for 4 hours...3 weeks before Christmas the rest of the lights went super bright and out they went...called balsam hill...got absolutely nothing not even a sorry..the kicker is my warranty was 3 months expired...sorry we can do nothing joke...spoke to a supervisor nothing, what if it caused a fire,nothing again only your warranty is expired...I too was told the lights should last 8 10 years...iam a decorator never again will I promote their products like I did...2 friends purchased trees from them to...now it's at the curb...customer service stinks...but if I was the hallmark channel or some big venue they couldn't replace the tree fast enough...my Walmart tree will have to due for now...shame on balsam hill..multi million dollar company..

Very disappointed with this Company. I ordered the Santa Sleigh Topper after Christmas last year. Put it away for this year. We were looking forward to this Topper. We have seen others but this was the one we wanted. We put it on the Tree and it worked great. After a few hours it cuts out. We unplug it and then have to plug it back in. Seem like something is definitely wrong. I called Balsam Hill and they said that they can’t do anything. That makes me so angry. After Christmas I paid $85. Normally costs $150. So now I have an item that doesn’t work properly. Very poor customer service that they aren’t able to do anything for me. Will never purchase anything from them again.

Received my tree timely before Christmas. Went to put it up and did not like the quality or look. Started a return and then decided let's just give it a chance and cancelled the return. The lights started flickering immediately when we put the top piece on. Called and explained the situation with canceling return. The representative insisted I take time to think about it. I said I don't need time to think about it. I am within 5 days of receiving the tree and it is before Christmas per your return requirements. I was within my right to return. He scolded me over the phone and hung up on me. I then sent an e-mail explaining situation and needing to return. Response from company "hhh" translated to hahaha. I sent tree back with the initial return slip. This is customer service? I think not and would never purchase from this company again.

Purchased an outdoor 9' cluster light tree after 2021's holiday season. Never opened the box. Put it up this year on December 1st. Today it completely stopped working. Balsam Hill basically told me "too bad." If you make a "quality" product why would your warranty be so awful??

I bought two wreaths last year and stored them in their original box and took them out of their boxes recently to hang on my door. Tonight I needed to replace the 3 D batteries in the 34 inch wreath and I see the battery box electrical unit is broken. Had to tape it closed with black tape which is ridiculous. Balsam Hill could care less. They said there’s only a 30 day warranty…..obviously the box is poorly made so you’d think they would make good on it.

I did my research and bought a balsam hill tree last Christmas. We moved into a new house this year and when I put the tree up - guess what? The lights didn’t work. Spoke with customer service. The representative updated my address and was sending me the part I needed to fix the problem. 3 days before Christmas and it hasn’t arrived. Guess what? It was sent to my old address. Spoke with another representative and they will gladly send me another replacement part but unfortunately it cannot be expedited. How does a company ruin Christmas for people without compensation? What an immoral scam? For the price people pay for these tress, heck - send them a new tree next day air with a bow on it Scrooge!

I purchased a Balsam Hill tree in 2020. There was a problem that first year with the lights going on and off or switching colors on their own. I called the company on 12/28/2020 to register my issue. They immediately told me I could not return it. I didn’t want to return it, I just wanted the issue resolved. They contended it must be the remote which I did not think was the problem as it occurred without my using the remote. Two years later, 2022, I no longer use the lights that came on the tree but instead use my own lights. This week, 2 years later, a new remote was sent to me. Two years later. No other correspondence. Just a box with a remote. And, when I went on their website to try to write a review I was unable to find where I could write one. Terrible customer service. I would not recommend this company.

If you want your tree by Christmas - order it a year ahead of time. You may receive half the tree - which I did. Five star prices fir one star service !

This is our second 9 ' Vermont Spruce . Each tree was in excess of $1200.00. The first tree developed lighting issues after five years. We contacted the company requesting replacement lighting. We were advised no replacement lights / bulbs are available. Our second tree (2022) developed remote control lighting issues. We were granted a warranty remote replacement then further advised the production season for parts is over and our remote is expected to be available in September 2023. No more trees from this company.

DON’T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! I spent $1800 nearly a month ago and still haven’t received my items despite their website promising 3-5 business day delivery. They don’t return calls, can’t give me any definitive details, story changes every time I call them. Their staff are rude and incompetent. A TOTAL SCAM COMPANY.

I was surprised that their products are made in China for the price they charge, we have a tree and every year have to hot glue branches back on. We tolerated it but when the lights started going out (expected) and we went to order replacements they did not carry them for trees only a few years old, totally unexpected for the price we paid. Overall a terrible experience, had to replace the tree after 4 years. I wrote their customer service about replacement bulb support and received no response.
