I bought a Breitling watch at the Catawiki watch auction, the watch was manipulated. many parts were not original, the movement was a copy, the seller demanded a proof from a watch expert within 5 days which was impossible. Catawiki did nothing, they wanted their commission, it completely ignored me. I think they are not serious, you do not feel safe when you pay. I DO NOT advise anyone to buy on CATAWIKI

I made a purchase and the item arrived damaged. I contacted the seller who basically delied the damage even though it was clearly not from the shipping but was packed that way. After hours trying to find out where to complaint I sent a message and they seem more interested in helping the seller than me despite having proof of the damage. If you buy from them and it is not what you want then to bad you will be stuck with it. The worst customer service I have dealt online.

It's a horrible platform for sellers. As an artist I've been asked to remove my reserve price, which means my art could sell for as little as 5$. I am talking about an artwork that normally would sell for 1000+ due to it's size 1m x 1m. On top of this they would take a percentage of the sale. I've added a very modest reserve price of 300 and I was asked to remove it. A bunch of thieves asking artists to give away their work for free, zero appreciation for their work.

Catawiki makes it impossible to contact them in any way. It is so frustrating! I am trying receive a refund because my item has not arrived after nearly 2 months. They will not allow or provide any avenue for contact. They have my money but have no way to reach any customer service representative. No matter how I try to reach them I always end up with their "frequently asked questions." They have no phone number. They have no customer support email address.” I have had to stop using the auction, except for very small value items for which I am willing to lose my money.

My relationship with this company came to an end this year when I was blocked for asking a question of an auctioneer and following up a week later asking why I'd not been replied to. THEY THEN BLOCKED ME AND HELD MONEY OWNED TO ME FOR ONE MONTH AS PUNISHMENT! They didn't even tell me they were doing this and refused to reply to my emails during this time. I am only just being paid for auctions that ended TWO MONTHS AGO! My advice, with over 20 years of experience buying and selling online, AVOID CATAWIKI. You are seen as a cash cow, nothing more. They make 21.5% commission from your sale. If you are outside the EU you also have to accept the extremely poor conversation rate they use when sending you YOUR MONEY. Money, but the way, which can also held for weeks on end after the auction ends.

Buyer BEWARE!! Do Not expect to get a refund if are not satisfied with your purchase. Catawiki has no customer service line and no physical address in the UK to claim legal liability. Once you send your payment your money is gone to their money-pot. I lost my money that way. I paid for a diamond ring £1.777 (including 9% fee) +358 Duty. It was AIG certified Color: G - H Clarity: VS-SI. Without being a jeweller I noticed with my partner 2 visible inclusions so I took it for a valuation to a veteran jeweller @ Hatten Garden and In his opinion Color: J/K, Clarity I1, RRP £700. (catawiki expert's estimation £13.700 - £15.300) Subsequently, I requested a purchase cancellation according to what their directives say: **As a consumer, you have the right to cancel the purchase agreement within 14 days of receiving the lot, without stating a reason.** This right only applies when you reside within a country in the European Economic Area and the seller is a professional seller (indicated by the 'Pro' icon beside the username). Certain products and services are excluded from the right of withdrawal, including but not limited to gold, diamonds, bullion and products that spoil quickly or have limited use by date. I am an EU citizen, the ring was a present and the seller is a pro-seller. 2 days before the deadline I got their response to say they are unable to proceed with my cancellation request because I didn't provide a valid reason?? **As a consumer, you have the right to cancel the purchase agreement within 14 days of receiving the lot, without stating a reason.** no comment

Catawiki makes it impossible to contact them. It is so frustrating! I am trying cancel an auction due to stopped shipments. The seller agrees. They will not allow contact. They take your money but will not work with you after that. They have no phone number. They have no customer support email address.

Do not order on this platform in this period of COVID-19 pandemic. People are in quarantine and lots are not going be shipped. Despite this critical situation, Catawiki is still asking payments to be done as soon as possible with no guarantee the package will be delivered within the pre-established delivery times. In short, the platform is asking immediate payments for a service that cannot be guaranteed. The risk is to pay immediately and wait months for the packages to be delivered. In my personal experience, I have been waiting 2 months for a lot that still has to be shipped. I asked for a full or partial refund but, I have been told to stay still and wait because nothing can be done. Rather than offering other solutions like competitors are doing, such as paying part of the lot in order to get the ownership and, when it can be shipped, pay the rest. They force you to pay in full, threatening to block your account and make you pay fees and penalties over the lots you have not paid. One word can describe all this: unfair.

The violation of the human rights law. The catawiki blocked my account because they didnt like my location. I think this is unfair to the loyalty user. They blocked the account after the transactions and didnt let me to participate in other auctions, but the other users with the same location continue to participate in auction. I made a lot of appeals but nothing changed. Do not recommend to use this auction and to work with these company.

Sellers be careful : You will lose your time and be blocked from selling if you want to work regularly , especially in the Jewelry Category with Renis Carlos. Dont waste your time here , better find another platform

Seller does not ship and does not respond to my emails and there is no help from Catawiki because I cannot contact Catawiki. There is no phone number and there is no customer service email available on Catawiki Help page, just some FAQ and nothing else. So, Catawiki has my money and I can't get what I paid for. It's been like that for almost three weeks. It is all looks like a scam.

Great auction site It seems that some sellers don't understand the importance of providing accurate information about the items they are selling, however, my overall impression is positive. Clean website, intuitive design, easy to use. Excellent support! That's, at least for me quite important. Interesting and unique objects appear from time to time.

In spite of the many negative reviews, nothing went wrong with my purchase, and international overseas delivery was achieved in a very reasonable time in spite of the Coronavirus.

Beware sellers. catawiki are very cleverly showing tracking as not recognised to allow them to keep you money for an additional 2 weeks. It's a tin pot company that should be avoided at all costs.

I questioned one of the auctioneers, he didn't respond. I then followed up a week later and received notification that after 4 1/2 years and 2,500 items I was no longer welcomed on the platform! What kind of company does this? I'd understand if I was aggressive or swore, I didn't. Sadly this is for questioning an auctioneer who doesn't like me! How immature can someone be?!

As auction sites go, this one is not as bad as others can be, but there is a learning curve... There are always risks associated with buying at auction, and I think people kind of always forget that until there is a problem... I have sold and bought over 100 items on catawiki over the last few years, at first I was a bit puzzled coming from the world of Ebay.com. Catawiki does not work the same, and I think this might explain the comments below. Catawiki doesn't operate a "no questions asked policy" like eBay. Buyers and sellers are expected to communicate and agree. Catawiki will only intervene in last resort. Over the years, I have also experienced a few issues with a couple of lots mostly due to shipping issues which as such have nothing to do with Catawiki. Catawiki doesn't store items, it doesn't ship them, it evaluates the items using the same pictures buyers see during the auction. All the handling is done by sellers. It is true that their customer service is slow, but all my issues were resolved nevertheless and I never had a problem recovering paid money. For this to go smoothly, I always follow the catawiki process: - contact the seller, describing the issue, and ask for a resolution. - tell catawiki immediately that there is something wrong, you can log a ticket via the website's help section or telephone them. I found phoning works better, the telephone number is displayed when you click the "I still need help" button at the bottom of the help articles. If you have done both steps, you can assume all parties are aware, from this point, if you and the seller cannot agree, catawiki will step in and decide what to do. Customer service was always courteous and helpful. They usually look at the case, and provided you have followed the process, will provide a fair resolution. I know that in the cancel culture we live in people tend to use excessive language quickly if something doesn't go their way, but the words "scam" or "con" are in complete contradiction with my experience of the site.

They mobbing and discriminating against people displaying items from Central and Eastern Europe. on the one hand, they want to post something from you and then they permanently reject it. Western Europeans take everything, even very weak works.
