Now i know why Catawiki has a loss of $13.7 million. It happens when experts like Mr Carlos Peña Renis wasted my 1 month and at the end all lots were rejected and then i sold those precious jewellery into another platform in a week in a good margin. How big loss it is for the catawiki , how many other sellers might be rejected like that and look who is losing ( ONLY Catawiki ) because of these unprofessional experts. I tried to contact the help like and inform them about this issue , but no one is going to hear you. Means that like to loss revenue.

Ordered an item from Europe via Catawiki. The website recommends waiting the full shipping period before reporting the item as missing. When the item still hadn't arrived, Catawiki refused any assistance as I hadn't let them know within their "feedback window" - which falls within the aforementioned shipping window. No item, no refund (not even of my buyer's fee!!!). DO NOT USE CATAWIKI - YOU COULD REGRET IT!

I bought a watch on Catawiki with 2 years full guarantee. I had to repair the watch after 1 year and send it for repair. They asked for a filled out guarantee card which I found out was not filled out by the seller. I reported this to xatawiki and theonly thing they could do was providing me with the sellers yahoo email...I asked customer service(They already replied after 8 days) why the experts are there if these things can happen. They told me that all seemed to be ok because the seller said all was ok. So if you order something and it goes wrong for whatever reason, catawiki can only provide you the sellers email address and for the rest it’s your problem. The seller of course doesn’t reply... Never, ever again Catawiki

Description of art was: oil on canvas. In fact, it was a digital print that had been painted over with oil. It came with a certificate of authenticity for a digital print but no indication of serial number. In fact the same one had already been sold on their site and another one was up for auction, so hundreds could be made and sold with Catawiki's blessing. Unfortunatelyy, I only discovered this when I had already paid. I complained to catawiki that purchase did not match description on their site. They have turned down my complaint as I did not provide enough evidence ( their description, a photo of the 'art' and the certificate of authenticity should have been sufficient proof!) But no... No refund. I am thinking of contacting trading standards.

Their customer service is HORRIBLE. We buy as professionals, and even something simple as a commission invoice adjustment for our business cannot be performed. These people cause unnecessary costs and wasted time to our company. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.

A bunch of so called experts with no credibility at all, none of them have references as to their skills or authority, they will judge your items without any knowledge. They refuse them on a too low estimate of the expected selling price even iff you know exactly what it will sell for. Or they will put your items in the auction of their own choice, not yours, and allow it to sell for for less than it's worth. Once they launched it in an auction you did not choose yourself you have no way at all of intervening. You put something in a specific auction where your item belongs, they put it in the first available general auction and it fetches 50% less than it should. This is a criminal company with amateur experts that only wants your money and treat you like an idiot on subjects you know far more about than they do. I already signaled several fake items in their auctions that so called experts let pass as genuine while any 'expert' could see it's a fake from 7 miles away...

So called experts , especially '' Mr.Renis Carlso '' expert in '' Jewelry '' category is very arrogant , rude & unprofessional. I have seem many sellers , who are complaining against this person , because so called expert has been rejecting many lots ( items ) from many sellers without any reason even their items are certified by reputed lab in EU. And now all these sellers are turning back to eBay & etc selling sites. Which indeed is not only a big loss in terms of '' Revenue ''for Catawiki but also losing many sellers , because of these type of unprofessional & rude experts. A group of sellers from UK, Germany & France have tried to contact the Higher Department in Catawiki , but as you know Catawiki's customer service is completely broken down. I even tried many times to reach their higher management and to explain them that they are losing a huge sum of money , but no one cares and you are not connected to the right people. The higher departments infact they dont know what is happening in the lower part by these so called '' Experts '' which is harming their hard work.

Expect this message from Catawiki when seller fails to deliver: "Unfortunately, it's not possible for us to fully support you in resolving this case..." If, as I did, you think Catawiki withholding your payment till purchase received affords purchaser protection then be prepared for a rude awakening.

Catawiki is nothing more than an expensive glorified Craigslist-like website trying to pass itself of as actual auctioneers, not safe at all. After years of trying my best to enjoy Catawiki, I have given up, it's been a few good experiences but mostly it has been aggravating; I've bought things and I have sold things on Catawiki. They have incredibly bad customer service, if it's a positive experience, it's sheer luck. Each and every so called 'auctioneer / expert' is someone that works from home and either does so for the easy money or to feel superior in my experience, all I've dealt with has either been obnoxiously superior (sometimes downright rude) in their attitude or showed a complete lack of knowledge. Repeated reports from me when I noticed that certain items sold on Catawiki were counterfeit got no response and they got sold nonetheless. Most questions I had for them where I got a response were answered it seemed by a robot, or better put: standard answers which simply didnt help me because they only touched on the subject. When a bidder decides not to pay, you get no compensation, just the trouble of having to put it up again, in certain cases those very same items are rejected because a new 'auctioneer/expert' has taken reigns of a certain category and feels it's not good enough or whatever, no discussion is possible. eBay for example is your best bet, it's cheaper too, and much safer, Catawiki does a lot to make you FEEL it's a safe selling environment, it really isn't any safer and I would go so far as to say it is less safe than most similar websites. My advise: steer clear of Catawiki, it's really not well organised and a lot can go wrong (and does).

No isue until recently when I was barred from further auctions without an explanation. Attempts to find out why as I had a 100% postive review having paid the money immediately on winning the auction. No answer was forthcoming following an email exchange. Will revert to eBay. More monitored and controlled and no fuss. You can talk directly with sellers. Suggest you do the same. Customer service non-existent.

I had an antique luxury rug that they insisted I got professional pics for - which I duly did, otherwise I could not submit the item. Then when i was ready to submit they told me that the rug had been valued by their so called 'expert' at far far less than what it was worth - their idea being that I put it in auction for nothing! Rug was easily worth £1200+ and they wanted me to put it in for £200! OUTRAGEOUS and I certainly will not be doing that. After all the emails back & forth and then finally to be told you must put it on their site for nothing is not acceptable. Catawiki are Charlatans all the way - lining their pockets with your commission and a sale value of monkey-nuts.

It's the disgrace of antiques dealing in modern times. Their customer service is rude and useless, their 72 hours mandatory delivery time replicates the Amazon style of toothpaste delivery, their are incompetent throughout. Never again. Paolo Rossi Barnard Italy

Not just that they ask for almost 16% percent for selling an item but if you buy it they want another 9% of the buying price. They rip people off and the so called experts have no idea of the worth of items

They are terrible at what they do. ebay is your best bet. I sold X three times. After a while I had X to sell again, they don't except it, no excuse, no explanation. Their so called 'auction masters' are nothing but a bunch of arrogant-selfindulgent-still-living-in-their-mothers-basement assholes. Steer CLEAR OF THESE WANNABE AUCTIONEERS. This is amateur hour.

I bought a lithography called La pilule rouge by a French artist. It was sent to a post office in Alicante where I live. As I had given my artist 's name ( normally I get every parcel delivered at my place), the woman at the counter refused to give it to me. That was in October. Ever since I have been trying to get in touch with the site ( how?), I told the seller who answered back in an angry tone. All I want is to know where what I paid for (144€) is. If it was returned to the owner, surely I could get it back? I am willing to pay for the postage. I have the tracking number I will write it when somebody gets back to me. Until then, I will not be bidfing on Catawiki. Nathalie Michot-Duval

The goods sold on there are sold as genuine, but they are actually FAKE! Catawiki's customer service is non-existent and trying to get a refund is impossible! DO NOT USE CATAWIKI! Stick to ebay - where they protect customers!
