Don't buy anything from this scam site. I make walking sticks and was shocked to see one of my canes that I had sold through ebay for £35 being sold on catawiki for £174 and estimated cica 1910 by their experts

I was eager to order from this website until I won a bid for a louis Vuitton bag. It was delivered with a rotten smell and the website didn't want to cancel the sale based on the fact that the seller had a good rating. Experts only estimate values of lots based on pictures that sellers send them and not based on physical evaluation. Do not order from this website because you may get defective items without any protection from the platform.

STAY AWAY Item or items minimum value in the category I sell must be 50€, it's ok to have rules of course but many important sellers there are allowed to sell lots with a value less than 50€. The so called experts do not accept items if they don't like even if the values is 100€ or more. Basically their rules aren0t the same for everybody.

Bought a console on 31 August 2020 that never arrived. Catawaki ignored to solve the problem and I have to contact directly the user that sells the product. The seller is completely ignoring me and I have no refund until now. The seller normally sells video games and is named "salvanes". Just to warn to no one will be trapped like me.

I have bid on Catawiki and have won a couple items. I paid for the first winning 4 days ago. So far 3 full business days have gone in full, but the seller and the Catawiki themselves did not email me any messages regarding shipping my items to me. Yet they sent me a new message to pay for the next won item. I feel uncomfortable already. I also think that charging on average around €19 for shipping via registered mail is a little bit steep, thus Catawiki mailing charges are often way too high. Perhaps their sellers are earning a lot of extra money on shipping?!

After being cheated once, i stupidly thought it was a one off and spent another 400 euros on a pair of earrings. Earrings arrived with clear and big defect. Catawiki expert said my claim was invalid as the defect was visible in a picture on the listing. If the defect was visible in a picture of the listing, then why had this expert who had reviewed the listing, not mentioned that in the description of the listing? Everything is not clearly visible in the pictures provided by the sellers. Buyers depend on the validation provided by catawiki experts to make an honest and informed purchase. Descriptions in most lots are scant on detail and now i see that it is delibrate. Run dont go anywhere near this platform of cheats.

100% SCAM These scammers sell valuable, 18th-century antique books, that were recently prined in India. Their books are absolutely worthless. Never trust scammers that have "Fine items, fair prices" on their site. The gangleader is a guy from Holland and we are now all tracking this guy down. If you you dispose of any data about this guy please post below. Their domains: catawiki.com , catawiki.nl , catawiki.de , catawiki.fr , catawiki.co.uk - it's the same gang of scammers from the Netherlands that spam the internet and steal CREDIT CARDS. We are now filing LEGAL complaints to take down their sites and put these scammers out of business. Drug-dealing is probably not profitable anymore in Holland, now they defraud people by dealing in fake books.

Bad support, takes them ages to reply. They don't support the seller in anyway and only after the money. Many buyers returned the items after they changed their minds or changed something to the item (a tear here, a hole there). No guarantee for sellers, experts are a joke they need all the labels to decide if an item is original or not, they would refuse an item even though a similar item has sold a week or two before at a good price.

I used to be a regular buyer and seller, when it first started. Now I avoid at all costs. Fake items everywhere. Informed the "Experts" that the item is fake. Nothing is every done. Only advised to contact the seller. Catawiki try and will avoid all liability.

I am not a buyer or seller on catawiki. I have an oil on canvas of a Madonna and Child about which I sent an inquiry to 2 very reputable World renowned Auction Houses . I included Photos. Unfortunetly it was not valuable enough for them to be interested. So I decided I would bring it to a local auction house to see if they would be interested in selling it for me. However then Lockdown because of Covid, stopped me. So I decided I would wait until things opened up again. I put my painting away. I looked up some images on Google to see if I could get any information or comparable images so I could learn a little about it's style or when it may have been painted. But there was nothing similar. That was about 2 years ago. Last night I again looked on the internet. To my surprise there was a painting being auctioned which had the EXACT same composition and the Madonna and child were posed in exactly the same position as in my painting. It is unusual because the infant has his arm around the shoulder of the Madonna and the other on her chest. Even the Rainbow in the background was painted there which was another unusual feature, convincing me this was a FAKE of MY painting! Except it was not the same painting! Someone had repainted over their features, their Halos, some of their robes, the Rainbow.....and it was awful! Almost like a child had done it! A complete fake! Their faces were now pale white and ugly ( the Madonna looked as though she had a beard) as opposed to them looking serene and looking lovingly towards each other. The auction site is LOT- ART. Lot number 38586263 and is UNSOLD. Posted on 06 Jul 2020 Estimate e275 - e350 (euro) Location UK Catalogue - Religious Objects Auction House - Catawiki Description - A Beautiful " Holy Madonna and Infant Jesus " dating to 19th XIX Century. Oil on Canvas. Old Master Italian School. I think my real one is possibly Romanian from looking at other examples but until I bring it to a real Auction House this is just a guess on my part. I simply want to warn anyone looking to buy this from Catawiki that it is a complete FAKE, as they may improve the overpainting and put it up for sale again. ( I had to log in with them to see price and name of Auction House.) I searched Oil on canvas Madonna and Child on Google, to discover it. My question is HOW DID THEY GET THE IMAGE? Did they hack my phone? My laptop? Or did they get it from one of the two world famous Auction Houses? I have never posted the image publicly or sent it to anyone besides the Auction Houses. And until last night I had never heard of Catawiki. So any ideas anyone? Thanks!

Buy at significant risk! The "experts" are for show only. The objects being sold are not properly vetted. Many fakes! Beware!

Catawiki is the most worst place for shopping ever! Zero buyer's support! Zero buyer's protection! Two weeks I tried to return defective sunglasses and...nothing. Four messages I sent to support with attached pics and...nothing. The seller agreed that item is defective and is ready to accept it back for full refund but...nothing. The only answer I received was that the photos would be show to an expert. What the hell need some expert if the seller has recognized a defect and agreed for refund? I have experience with online shopping for many years but for the first time faced with such scammers like here! If you want to lose your money and ruin your nerves - welcome to Catawiki! Any shop or auction that does not accept PayPal are SCAMMERS! If you see that choosed marketplace like this Catawiki doesn't accept PayPal - run away, they are the scammers!

If your Website had a possibility to rate Catawiki with a 0 star, I would have, as even a 1 star rating is to high. Experts don’t even know that the years 1900 - 1999 are the 20th century. Many times they call those years the 19th century they probably do this on purpose to make the items look older. Furthermore, if you buy something on Catawiki and after a while want to resell it on their site they can refuse the item for very lame reasons that make no sense. All in all a terrible site.

A NEGATIVE,UNINTELLIGIBLE EXPERIENCE I have been a seller on catawiki for many years and had positive experience but lately i guess probably something changed, today i have got a message that my auction was not admitted:for an Audi R8 V10 2013 with following reason: After careful consideration, due to the relatively young age ..... they have right now one on sale year 2015. ,Now my question is ... Are you kidding? This shows that there are no doubt that there are certain kind of customer preference? Auctions open only for SPECIAL clients?I am truly dismayed and speechless This is really A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE
